    The picture of the Hydrolic cylinder setting is detent. Meaning that the handle will stay in either the lift or lower position until the ram reaches full stroke (in theory). If it isn't staying, you can adjust the flow rate with the other knob until it does. (There is also a way to adjust the pressure at which the detent kicks out, but that requires a very small screw driver, I'll get into that if someone wants to know later). In the middle position, the handle will not stay. This is to be used if you are doing something that you don't want the ram to go the full stroke every time (like a loader). The 3rd setting is for constant flow. You would want this for a hydrolic motor. (Like a fan on an air planter or a hydrolic driven auger/belt). Hope this helps.

      How do you adjust the detent pressure?

  • @jameshotaling3587
    @jameshotaling3587 4 месяца назад +2

    The three different adjustments on there are hydraulic pump which continuously run your hydraulics the center one is region like your running a loader and the third one is run to end of stroke then it drops back to neutral

    On most Deere tractors the manual is located on the back of the upper seat cushion. The newer Deere tractorscome with a lot of different options to meet a customers need and budget. Once you get an implement set up on a tractor it is a good idea to make notes of how everything is set up and should make the next time easier and faster.

    I have the 6310 and the are reversed also. For some reason the remote outlets on the earlier tractor are all opposite. Now on the newer ones like 6420 they have corrected it. The black nob on top. One is standard operation (return to center when released), one will stay engaged until the cylinder reaches end of through (return to center on own) and the last is to power a hydraulic motor. It will stay engaged until you pull handle back.

      Great explanation of it. I have a 6310 4000 hours only one trip to the dealership since I bought it new. I just had to replace my coil for the pto last week. Been a great tractor. I have a 75 hp that I haven’t been that lucky with

    My 6300 is set up the same way. I assumed someone moved the remotes as the 1 and 2 are reversed as well. The one with the cylinder will allow holding for till reaches a certain pressure. The other will hold a detent for running pumps or motors.

    Ok I know this is a little old but we have a 6400 and I am having problems with the hoses not staying in. Blowing out. I thought it might have something to do with those knob setting but have put them in various positions with no luck. Replaced the SCV's at least twice and the connectors on the hose as well. It pops out and fluid shoots out from the SCV and goes everywhere. Hopefully maybe someone will see this and knows whats going on.

    I put colored zip ties on all our implements hydraulic hoses and on the tractors SCV body.
    John Deere 6420 Premium Cab
    On SCV #1
    green (top)
    Yellow (bottom)
    On SCV #2
    Blue (top)
    White/clear (bottom)
    On SCV #3
    Red (top)
    Black (bottom)
    Then I set up all the implements off of this color coding with the correct colored zip tie. One zip tie on the hose by the hydraulic tip and a second colored zip tie farther back on the hydraulic hose in case the one on the tip would get damaged and fall off.
    Just makes it really nice for when other people are hooking up various implements. No guesswork involved.

    • @lukestrawwalker
      @lukestrawwalker 6 лет назад

      I think one is a "hydraulic motor" setting too, by the looks of it, probably for powering say an air planter or air drill with hydraulic motor powered blowers or whatever...
      When they put a little open book emblem on it they're telling you "when all else fails, read the book" LOL:) Always good advice.
