Rode this yesterday, was definitely impressed with how well maintained Cannon Ball is. It’s a really good centerpiece for a park like Lake Winnie. Definitely worth the visit.
Rode this last weekend with my son. Its surprisingly good. The last 2/3 of the ride had some good air time. Its a lot of fun. Nice little classic wooden coaster thats aged well over the years.
I really enjoyed Cannon Ball, it's the best wood coaster in Georgia. It's great for families and fits so perfectly into the classic woodsy feel of the park.
True, but at the same time, there aren’t too many wood coasters in Georgia anyway. Only one I know of is the old Scream Machine, and it’s not like that’s good competition.
I have not ridden this, but this was giving me some vibes of Zingo at Bell's. I don't remember if I rode Zingo during its buzz bars era. It had the same setup as Cannon Ball, with just the ramp leading up, and the mad dash to get the seats you want when they let people in. It had manual brakes, but it was 12 rows. I wish I could remember if it had airtime, but the 3rd drop into the clown's mouth underground was iconic for Tulsans. It had a drop then 2 big hills (I think Zingo inspired El Toro), then a turnaround into smaller hills. Any woodie that gives me Zingo vibes is alright in my books. Swamp Fox is another.
What do you think about Cannon Ball at Lake Winnepesaukah, Judge Roy Scream at Six Flags Over Georgia, Hoosier Hurricane at Indiana Beach, Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Over Georgia, Skyliner at Lakemont Park, and Phoenix at Knoebels?
As usual, I GREATLY appreciate all of these in depth reviews you provide for the large number of little talked about coasters you ride!!! I believe I have said it in the past, but I will continue to reiterate it as you are pretty much the only source on RUclips for high quality reviews of these many rides. I am often curious about rides such as these that most people won’t take the time to cover if they’ve experienced them. Cannonball in particular is one I’ve always thought looked pretty cool so very happy to see it covered here. Keep on documenting all of these great rides and thanks again! 🫡

They take good care of it.

Its a nice little ride, some decent airtime and reasonably smooth. Did a nice little marathon the other day and enjoyed it
Good to hear!

@@lucomc32607 I'm aware. I just like to share that distinction whenever I can since Cannon Ball tends to fly under the radar as is 😀
I preferred Georgia Cyclone when it was open, but I agree it's now the state's best woodie.
Such a satisfying coaster to look at. As a kid, I had a book with a picture of it....which is how I learned what an out and back coaster is
Love the look of a classic white wood coaster.
I guess this was my home coaster as a kid. I always thought it was terrifying, but very exciting too.
It's a fun one.
Looks fun. Might ride it this weekend
You should!
Is amazing a small park like this maintains this 1967 woodie better than six flags with a 10 year old gci
They do take good care of this ride.

I'm used to the mad dash with Yankee Cannonball as well. I wish I could have gotten to Bells before they closed.
Northeast Oklahoma park??? 45 minutes from me so I’m down
The new one that was announced? Hope it happens!

Phoenix is elite. The others are fine.

Thank you! I like to highlight all parks, big and small.
It's CLOSING FOR GOOD???🤯🤯
It's not closing. I said "closing in" to mean approaching in the review. Sorry for the confusion.
It's still open. Rode it Saturday. They did close their wild mouse coaster a couple of years ago. It's at a park in Birmingham now.
For a second I thought you said closing and not closing in!
Lol me too I got scared for a second
Sorry for the confusion and scare!
Gotta say, thing feels a lot faster than it looks on camera
A lot of coasters do.
What would you rate this ride? Why?
It's towards the end of the review.
I wonder why this coaster doesn’t have a sign
Maybe it fell at one point?
That is one narrow track layout. Kinda pushing the out and back concept to the extreme.
Definitely.
