Holy cluster muck, Carguy! How you managed to be so calm matter-of-fact for this video is a testament to your character. I enjoy your channel and really hope you get things straightened out so it can continue, but more importantly I sincerely hope that your career will flourish and you will triumph when the dust settles. Your new house looks to have wonderful potential, so maybe a second channel devoted to its restoration is in order? Be well, and best of luck! We're all pulling for you!
Well… “life” has certainly being throwing you some curveballs! I’ll certainly be watching for your videos, wherever they end up. BTW, you are an excellent speaker. Enjoy your new digs. Sounds like you have good neighbors. Cheers! 👍👍👍
Wow, sorry for your troubles getting things done. I’m sure all will be well with you and yours! Love the Plymouth and I owned a 77 Malibu 4 door sedan same color as your wagon. And thanks for the “pop” at the start of your videos. Dude your channel is one of the best and I truly appreciate your efforts and the great content you produce. May God bless your family. And please don’t allow this to be your last video as I always look forward to them and your narrating skills!
You have really shown perseverance and true grit. I hope all of these problems get resolved. We really enjoy your content and look forward to a follow up video
I’m fairly new to your channel, having discovered it just a few months ago. Computers are crazy sometimes. The one time I hate them. Well, I really hope you get it straightened out. I’ll be looking for your next video. Be blessed. 🚗🙂🙏
Sure wondered where this was going, but ended with a laugh, which is better than being you, just now. Will keep an eye out, here's wishing you luck....
One thing that I have discovered is that A I is incredibly stupid! I hope that you can get all of this sorted out. I do like the new property. Good luck and hope to see you again soon on RUclips.
Wow, Hope! That's an odyssey that Homer would be proud to have authored! BTW: It's a fabulous "Easter egg" for a MoPar guy to find that the new digs have a Maxwell connection! The only thing better would be to move onto Exner Street!
I hope when your life settles down and you make progress on the Plymouth interior you'll find your way back to producing. I absolutely enjoyed your work. 67 year old car person who appreciates your depth of research and your including foreign cars. When you post, it's the first thing I watch. Too many youtube channels stick to the obvious. Best of luck and don't forget us!
Yep, that's life for ya! Perhaps uploading all of the content to a new channel would give that channel the traction it so richly deserves. I love those encyclopedic rundowns! BTW - the new (old) house is absolutely beautiful! Here, just outside NYC, all I can afford for probably the same money is a 60-year old shoebox with no garage. I have to live vicariously through youtubers. Best of luck getting settled in the new digs and will look for videos whenever, where ever.
I understand. Prices here are like a 3rd of what they are in Boise, maybe less. At this point it appears my current channel may keep going. Fingers crossed.
Oh man car guy I hate hearing your story. I sure hope you can work things out. Yours is one of the most thorough and authentic car channels that I am aware of. Just excellent and so well done Hope to see you down the road.
I did rent the exact same 27' Penske truck to move 200 boxes of books and stuff to Toronto from Ann Arbor MI in 2020, and ship them overseas. THe cargo was heavy but not bulky, it would have fit in the smaller GM trucks you showed. I was surprised they did not require any special license to drive the big truck. The thing could not go over 65 mph but it was just AMAZINGLY FUEL EFFICIENT. I could not believe how efficient, because I used up lots of power to load the boxes on the bed (it had one of these hydraulic things in the back, I must have raised and lowered them at least 200 times). I did the round trip in one day, but rented the thing for three to do the loading, which was a pain (bringing the stuff to the truck, the rest was easy due to the hydraulic thing). I was probably too cautious, I could have fit all these heavy (but not bulky) boxes in the smaller truck, but was worried if they exceeded its weight by a lot, its tires would blow up.
Typically the lifts are only available on "local" rentals, but they sure are nice for the heavy stuff. I can't image the mileage you would get in a truck that big if it weren't a diesel.
I like your no-nonsense style of delivering interesting historical videos. I'd definitely follow a replacement channel should that route prove necessary to continue delivering the excellent content. Good luck and please keep us up to date.
I am not longer being texted a verification code when I log in, which is a good sign, although isn't an indicator that things have been moved to the new#.
I hope all goes well. And you get everything straightened out. My biggest move was from the southern New Jersey town of Mullica Hill to Providence Rhode Island. And back again nine months later.
Exhausting! But that's a nice place you've got now. I'll be in Bozeman/Billings and some part of western Idaho - I think I'm aiming for the Roxburg Flight Museum or Idaho Falls - can't manage the drive to Boisie on a short trip. All part of 'getting' my 47th and 48th state - I'm a city person - or at least a suburban one, and Idaho especially is a bit outside my usual comfort zone; 5 miles out of DC. Genuinely sorry about the job, though perhaps after 20 years union and involuntary reduction you have good package. [Such things do not exist in my industry] Having had to change jobs at 55+ (and managed to match pay, lucky me), I know that's tough.
This is an amazing saga and thank you for sharing! A cautionary tale for the ages. Your wife is one in a million, so hold onto her, but maybe refer to her as 'my wife' or by her (ficticious?) name instead of 'the wife'. That just sounds a little dismissive to this boomer! LOL! I have turned many a motorhead friend on to your channel and will continue to do so because I think your content is #1 on the internet. I hope this is not your last video because I learn something new with each posting. Keep your chin up, friend! Things can only get better, right?
I don't think of it as dismissive, but as an indicator that she is the only one that counts, for me. So I shall most certainly be keeping her around. And things do appear to be looking up.
Wow... Congrats on the new home. I am sorry for all that drama you have been through. That was indeed a lot. You have the supprt of family and friends. You overcame so many challenges. That was a lot. There was so much you said, but the video was still interesting and informative. I hope you will get the other issues sorted out. I hope that you will return in the future and you get to keep your You Tube account. If you have to start again, I hope to find your new channel. Please take care and I wish you and your family the best as you start your new life and your new home. I like the Ford Crown Victoria Country Squire wagon and your Chevrolet Malibu wagon. Still going strong in 2024.
Thank you for making and sharing so many great videos. I hope to be able to see your future work after you fix things with RUclips. If your RUclips problems persist consider going over to Nebula. It's creator owned and would have your interests more highly prioritized than RUclips. Your are not the first to have problems with that rental truck company. While helping a friend move across country our truck problems included 3 trucks and we manually loading from one truck to the next twice. You were lucky to get help from them after their truck messed up. We got none and I've sworn off that company ever since.
I’m sorry you had a tough time. However, I would have loved to hear your angry voice. None of us know you’re angry voice, your elevated voice, your voice that says I am done with all of this and then you pull a cork - I want to hear that guy !
I just sold an old car. It would have run forever, but the gas mileage was abysmal and the interior was wearing out. I dug out all the personal debris before sending it along. Among the things I found were a couple paper maps and realized I had not used one in perhaps 20 years. "Tree based data storage" works regardless what network you are subscribed to, doesn't ask for a pass code and doesn't loose a charge. Just sayin. Made me think that perhaps I should get some new maps to stash in the new car. I could have made my way across the country with that folded piece of paper.
I last bought a paper map about 15 years ago at a store I ran across while lost in the mountains somewhere between Boise and Missoula. It really was the only reliable option.
Hope you can work out the you tube situation. Everyone now is so strict on security, if you change something as a location or phone number it will lock out the account. Hope you don't have to close out the existing account and sign up for a new account , looks like they are trying force you to do. Some of the large diesel trucks with the computers, and emissions are junk,, glad it did not leave you completely stranded the engine probably had an emissions system problem and derated itself and limited the speed. Well wishes on getting settled in. Home and property prices is getting insanely expensive along with property taxes here in Texas too, so it's getting expensive everywhere .
If I don't see any more videos on this channel and you start a new one, can you post a comment here telling us the name? That way we can check back here every once in a while so we can continue watching your great content.

I assume you mean Homer Simpson. He would be proud to have authored a parking ticket.
You two ran into an entire family of Murphys. Best results.
