AAAAAA The nostalgia is real!!! So is this game!!! No seriously, sometimes I would just think about this weird baking game with upside down cake and wonder if it was just an odd hallucination of mine.
The nostalgia. I remember messing up a lot, seeing Ed's jaw drop, clicking "Aaaah", "Iy-eiy-yie", "EEK", "PU", and "Uh-Oh" a lot, and hearing Reader trip and fall!
the nostalgia is seriously insane right now. the chef’s voice is such an early memory i honestly didn’t know if it was real. and the sound effects bring me back to a super specific time in my life.. this is just crazy
Oh my God.... This game has haunted my dreams since preschool I almost believed it was just a figment of my imagination but watching this everything is coming back so clearly in my memory
I'm just going to say this to those with children looking for educational games, in my opinion, Reader Rabbit is the best way to go. When I was young my parents gave me both Reader Rabbit and Jump Start, and I am not at all kidding when I say this, Jump Start scared the absolute s**t out of me, specifically the little bear. However, I played RR daily, when I finished one I would start it over, and it was one of the highlights of my day. I continued playing these games until I was around eight, simply because I enjoyed them that much. Even now in my adult years I'm watching them, just to relive my childhood. So again, I highly recommended this series, and this one in particular was my favorite.
As a kid, I enjoyed the ABCDiner song. As an adult...I still do. It's a cute little ditty about the two best things in the world; reading and food, and it's every bit as catchy as I remember.
Now that I’m an adult a lot of the character voices in the ABC diner are impressions of actors and characters. For instance, Ed the dog sounds like Fonzie from happy days, and a few customer voices sound like Bill Cosby, Sylvester Stallone, bullwinkle, and so on... crazy how I now figure that out. And also the PU voices always cracked me up and still do.
Every time I try to download the non-personalised version of this game, it’s the carousel version, but not the carnival version with Sam saying “ah the good old days” in the beginning.
omg I finally found this..I remember the cooking part. I was like 3-4 back then, playing this in my old basement. I even remember the sound effects of the cooking items and stuff.
0:03 POP: Hey, brain booster! Welcome to Wordville! We’ve been waiting for ya! I’m POP, your program options pad. Wordville’s all about learning and having a good time, so let me show you around! I’m gonna be here to help you out while you’re doing all sorts of fun stuff! Now, let’s see what’s going on in Wordville today!
I used to play this all the time when i was little!! i have been searching for the name of this game for YEARS. I finally found it and i nearly cried from nostalgia.
I came here specifically because I remember playing this game in the 90's and would always laugh when I opened one of the cabinets that contained the green or orange "AAAAAAA", or the frozen mice. Man this game stuck with me
I don't think I ever beat this game fully. It was always just so tedious doing every activity four times as a kid. I was like 4 or 5. Now I'm 17, wishing that they made this game for algebra and trigonometry.
I like the parts where some cabinets have dirty stuff that are not foods & silly male voices say interjections related to yucky stuff & the "X" cabinets have xylophones & X-Rays & Reader Rabbit says them in suspicious ways instead of normal feeling ways. I also like the part where when you get the wrong ingredients, the cook says, "Mush!", & then the mush goes to the waiter Reader Rabbit & then gives it to the customers who find it as what they did not order. & sometimes he will slip over it & then get cleaned off.
I have not thought about this game in over twenty years and was recently run over, desperately trying to remember what that mouse was from. Took some creative googling to get here but man, the nostalgia is so nice.
found this by searching 'reader rabbit PU' haha. all the sound effects are seared into my brain. i had a demo of this and live in the UK so yams and idaho potatoes always confused me. but then i also thought jam was a british word and jelly was US? not sure why kumquat and quince were words a preschooler would need though.
I remember playing this game on my dad's computer when I was younger. It has been 14 years since I played this. I always used to love playing this game when I was little!
I used to play Let’s Start Learning the 1997 reader rabbit game, that was the original though. Had the counting club pattern parade abc diner and shape shack the learning company literally recycled all four of those parts for this game in 2001
Omg I had this game as a kid and I’ve been searching for it for *years!* The roller coaster one was always the hardest for me, I never really beat the level because it was too difficult, I never got the last ticket (i’m dyslexic by the way). I never got to see Sam ride the rollercoaster! I always wanted to watch him do it (I think I had a dream about watching him do it too, I think I also dreamt about being in the monkeys treehouse)
I don't about this but I seen rabbit's bloody head in one of kitchen cabinets when I played this mini game in my childhood. It was almost twenty years ago...
I can’t explain how much nostalgia this gives me. I was OBSESSED with the cooking game 🤣
Yeah I know
SAME!! I'd get it wrong on purpose and laugh hard when he would say mush.
And then laugh at the reactions of the customers
Came here a year later to say the exact same thing
I spent most of my life wondering if this game was just a hallucination from my childhood. Now I know: IT'S REAL
glitterburns Same. I thought i was crazy
SAME
I get them all mixed up 🤣 what one is the one where its like a campsite 🤣
YES!
Me rn😭
I always remember the “AAAH”, “EEEP” and “AY YI YI” at work and I crack up every time 🤣 God this game was such a childhood memory haha
Here's an of, MUSH! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Quince that's a fruit!" still stuck with me over 15 years later.
YES. I swear. Every time someone says "what's a word that starts with Q?" I blurt out/scream "QUINCE. THAT'S A FRUIT."
Did you play this game or the original in 97?
Me too!
That's what I typed in on google to find this I cant believe I found it. It's been floating around my brain for years.
Me too I've just found it today! 💜
AAAAAA The nostalgia is real!!! So is this game!!! No seriously, sometimes I would just think about this weird baking game with upside down cake and wonder if it was just an odd hallucination of mine.

i do not remember the abc diner song being so long, holy shit
the nostalgia is seriously insane right now. the chef’s voice is such an early memory i honestly didn’t know if it was real. and the sound effects bring me back to a super specific time in my life.. this is just crazy
Oh my God....
This game has haunted my dreams since preschool
I almost believed it was just a figment of my imagination but watching this everything is coming back so clearly in my memory
Olivia Sanborn used to play the 97 version 20 years ago.. time flies 😒
That's some pretty magical cooking making a pizza just out of fudge, dates, and strawberries. The little things I never noticed as a child.
It could be a dessert pizza.

It's sad good educational games like these aren't produced anymore
I remember this from when I was a kid, and hearing the voice saying "Uh oh" (7:57), "I Yi Yi" (8:21), and "Eek" (8:16) was very funny. LOL 😂😆🤣

I'm positive this is where I learned what a yam was 😂 And also, from the hazy depths of memory, I remember being particularly amused by PU
As a kid, I enjoyed the ABCDiner song. As an adult...I still do. It's a cute little ditty about the two best things in the world; reading and food, and it's every bit as catchy as I remember.
Listening to the little sounds and noises when your grown up now is the best ASMR ever,
This stuff is straight up putting me to sleep 😂 it’s so comforting because I played this all the time as a kid
