@@rasmuswirje8412 Yes i did. 😀 Essentially it was always there from when i had 5.05. I just couldn't work out out because of the black screen but yes I have it working now.

@@devonmacdonald4439 If you specify to the person that is fixing your device to NOT CONNECT it to Internet, and to NOT UPDATE system software of your PS4, you will still be able to JB your PS4

question, regarding the PS4 firmware revert video you posted 2 weeks ago
wouldn't it just be easier to have 2 separate hard drives,one hard drive being the original that came with the play-station, then the second one to keep the older OS. EXAMPLE,
1. format the new drive,
2. swap out the original play-station hard-drive with the new formatted hard-drive
3. with the new drive inserted into the play-station, install the older OS, like download the PS4UPDATE.PUP from (( drivers.softpedia.com/get/gaming-consoles/Sony/ )) or download it from the other website that has the installer.
4. so now we have 2 hard drives, the original hard drive with the new update 8.5,,, and the new hard-drive with the older OS that you downloaded and installed onto the hard-drive.
this way a user could just swap out the hard-drives back and forth depending on which version they want to use. if possible please walk us through how to do this properly and if would there be any repercussion with the play-station due to the continuous swapping out of hard-drives. , if not possible please elaborate why it wouldn't work

Freakin’ Linux 1GB payload doesn’t launch . I keep getting not enough memory storage message . Tried for about an hour yesterday .
@@matthewarroyo6127 so the problem here is that you have to delete your cookies,cache and browser history for it to work and it will launch at some point you just need to be patient and hope it works
@@ginoalbertofranceschetti 1h is probably waiting too long already no? :D But yeah all what you said, plus disconnecting hard-drives should help with the loading too. And of course use a exploit which uses cache.

This is Great thanks! I will say that I'm currently installing the updated Fedora (ModdedWarfare) vs with a [wireless keyboard] (C-78PRO). I've read that PS4's only adapt to the keyboard if the keyboard and mouse share same dongle. This is true in my case. (Keyboard is only working ATM. After I've finished installing Linux and booting, I'm able to use mouse and keyboard. I did notice a few errors was in the install and start scripts However, everything seems to be working fine. Also I forgot to change all the video output ect... settings you mentioned, but haven't had any persistent black screens and is working properly for now.

Question im on 9.00 and this tutorial worked great got it running no problem but I have it set up on an old flash drive and its a pretty slow flash drive tho and was going to order a few 3.0s would it mess anything up if I go to set it up on a new usb? Or would I just have to reinstall it all?

one question tho , back then on your tutorial at 5.05 we can choose how much we want to allocate for the space used on the disk for the bootable linux files instead of formatting one disk to fat 32 ,i only had 1 ssd right now and i uses it for transferring pkg too sometimes so kinda want to saves atleast 160gb exfat partition, is there anyway to do that?
(I have tried making seperate FAT32 partition and Exfat on the disk, but when i go to the linux shell , it won't recognize my files when i tried to exec the install script, i have double checked the files is on the right partition btw, the error was files not found or the your disk are formatted incorrectly)

hey modded warfare can I see the contents of a nfts drive? was thinking on transferring files to another hard drive and then formating it seems like a long shot but thought id ask.
I had the problem that my usb hub wouldn't power another hard drive. My fix was to take a spare thumb drive and make a bootable ubuntu disk and run the live environment on a pc. That will read both file types and let you transfer between drives

I've been using Linux for the past few years, and I've meddled with gentoo, however you should not install it on a ps4 as you'll find yourself having to recompile the kernel an obnoxious amount of times, and gentoo doesn't have a
package manager, you'll have to compile programs from source.

Great guide, will this work on the new 9.00 exploit, or do we have to wait for them to release and updated version before I start, EDIT: got it installed, but im having a problem with my monitor overscanning the image, i cant see the taskbar etc..., any tips, tried setting the display to 1080p but it still doesn't seem to work
Recommend waiting, as if you press the "7.55 linux" button or something, you can run in some incompatibilities problems, could be wrong, but i really think that we should wait, as the jailbreak still is new, having only 3 or 4 days that it was announced
question can i run games that are not on steam and are windows only with this? for example "Guild Wars 2"

Great video as always I come to know linux on ps4 from your vidoes.
Since I am a ps4 pro user also I believe the bug for 7.55 could be the drives (I saw in your vidoe when using vulkan in dolphin emulator your driver was AMD liverpool and not gladius) anyway I dont know much since I am still using 5.05
I tested the updated drivers from ITmania (btw you can update them easily if you add itmania repo)
my ps4 linux crashed whenever I tried vulkan in emulators. So I reverted back to older mesa-vulkan drivers and emulators started to work again.
For overclocking, I overclocked my ps4 pro to 2.7 and really without any gain I tested that in emulators like PCSX2 and dolphin or even rpcs3 (btw rpcs3 works great in my ps4pro I hope you can make video about it in the future)
so I really dont recommed that.

There might be a way of enabling auto-login. Also the PS4 Pro bug isn't a driver issue. As I also tested with Gentoo linux which correctly identifies as Gladius in vulkan but still suffers the same performance drop.

I've followed the Bluetooth controller setup guide as linked above but I'm not getting my spare DS4 controller to work in Retroarch or Steam or anything really. It connects via Bluetooth and shows up as connected, with a solid white LED on the controller, but it doesn't work in any game. I'm not sure where to go from here. Has anyone gotten their DS4 controller working in Linux that might be able to help me?
Just installed linux on 9.0 but I've got a question. A friend of mine also has a modded ps4, if I took the usb to his could I run it off his ps4 (it's the same model) or would it have to go through the entire process again? Also, if he then found it useful would it work if I copied all the files onto one of his usbs assuming it was formatted to FAT32?
Can you run ubuntu this way? Not a fan of juggling too many operating systems.

you can use GoldenHen v1.1 and Chiaki, the GoldenHen is already enable for RemotePlay and if you've any problem in obtain the PSID whose Chiaki requires, just create a new account, go to trinket.io and execute the code from the Chiaki page.

PEOPLE FROM 9.00 Jailbreak, wait for the linux payloads to launch for the 9.00 firmware, because even if you try to use the 7.55 linux payload (or other firmwares) on 9.00 firmware, you will pretty probably get some incompatibility errors, i understand the need to make ps4 a PC (Because i want too), but wait, i guarantee you don't want an broken ps4

I have a very specific question. My ps4 slim disk drive broke, tried to fix but failed. It is was on firmware 7.50. i put it in a closet for like 2 years and formatted then used the hdd my pc so now i have no ps4 os on any hard drive and can't install a new hdd to the ps4 because it fails the hardware check. Is there a way to install Linux to a hdd to be put into the internal slot of the ps4? Not interested in dual boot, i just want Linux running on the internal drive and wasn't to know if there is a way to get it set up from pc and just put the hdd into the ps4 afterwards.
@MODDED WARFARE Did you manage to fix hdmi input issue of pluging it off and on, i have the same issue as you on my fat white 2nd gen ps4
Not a solution but turnin the tv off on does the same thing basically. So u can do that and avoid having rip that cable off everytime on bootup

I use sandisk ultra flair 64GB is good enough for the emulator

I have everthing set up I have even tired sending the payload myself, I am able to get Linux loaded onto my PS4 (the light is blue and flashing purple) but there is no display output and it just says no signal. I have tried multiple bzimage, and even different monitors. I am also positive that I have all the display settings set properly. So ya no clue what I've done wrong.

I got to the black screen after it said waiting for clients but its been pulsing from blue to purple for a while now. Im using a 3.2 usb stick. Do I keep waiting. I also did everything you said to not receive a black screen.

Thats your TV overscan. I have an LG and using the tv mouse thing I can zoom out to sort it. Look up your TV overscan settings

How long does the payload usualy take?
Instead of excluding the updates that will break the os each time, why not just make a policy?. Maybe this is a bad question but I really wanna know as I'm a Debian user . Also I truly got love for you man ..

Yes you should be able to do this, I don't see why not.
Just use the aomei partition tool he uses to resize the linux drive to your desired size, then create another partition on the drive that is formated to exFat. And if exFat doesn't work, then try Fat32 instead.
After that, the partion you just created will be usable on the ps4 for whatever you want, while keeping the linux partion untouched.

I tried to do that once and my PS4 detected the correct format partition. However, when I tried to format it as an external storage, it literally formatted the whole drive, even partitions with the format the PS4 cannot detect. Be aware that this could happen.
@@mohammedal-rashdan3668 Hi I ended up asking ITMania and he told me id need a linux PC to do that. There is one other way Ive thought of trying but havent got around to it so dont know if this will work. Install linux on a smaller usb drive, then once you have installed it clone the drive with disk genius or partition wizard without resizing the drive. then you should have an unallocated section which you should be able to set up.

The video explains how to increase the size/number of sectors, but with this tool (fdisk) you can also be able to decrease the number of allocated sectors in the partition you are running the distro from. I have tried it and it worked perfectly. You should try it.
