Sorry to hear that. There lives are so short. I will try and feature him more in the future. He is also featured in the New Orleans and Plantation Tour episodes.
Been to Laurel! Visited the Scotsman shop and their mercantile store. Laurel is much bigger than the show included in their show! On TV you only see old Town.
I grew up in Laurel, and have a lot of wonderful memories there as a child...I am 69 now, and live in Tallahassee Florida...I haven’t been back to Laurel since my father’s death in 1994...He, and so many other long-gone family members are buried there...This makes me think that I need to make a trip back to this lovely little town where I was born and raised...Thanks for sharing this video...
Thanks so much. We sure did. I would think all the visitors would really get on people's nerves, but we found everyone we met to be friendly, helpful with a lot of southern hospitality!
@arewethereyetshow That's really great to hear! The crowds don't really get too bad. The new visitors are noticeable, but never a nuisance. Well, maybe a FEW of them are 😉. Overall, we're grateful to all the people who come down and join us for a bit and also help us take care of each other and grow. Thank you for the kind words about us! And I wish you many more great trips to come!
Laurel- you have all of that redevelopment going and your downtown roads look like a back road that no one travels upon. Laurel downtown needs bricks instead of asphalt or concrete. Cheaper in the long run and totally in harmony with the vibe they are going for.
If they keep going the way they are I'm sure they will get there eventually. But there are many more miles of old buildings that need renovation and I think that might be their first priority.
@@arewethereyetshow I live close by and am very happy with the stunning results of a handful of people. My point was that if roads are bad, it can stop progress because it takes people to fund and maintain progress.
THIS! Native here. Me and my two youngest kids love trick or treating here. We feel it's one of the better events here along with our county fair that happens the third week in October ❤
If my wife and I could do it, we'd visit Laurel, Wetumpka, Bentonville where Dave and Jenny are, Waco and Austin where the Gaines are, and Fort Collins, Colorado on a huge trip
Our goal is to get to all those places too! We just couldn't do it in one trip. Check out our video on our trip to Waco and the Silos: ruclips.net/video/QUo1-ZiEp-M/видео.htmlsi=MqOyz6buxrxLgCqo
Hi, lifelong Laurel resident. I'm sorry to inform you, you would most definitely not enjoy visiting this town. While the scenery looks abundant and rustic, that is just a very small portion of the town. It is connected to the city of Laurel that is basically nothing but your very common consumer stores. There is no culture, no nightlife, no activities. The weather is abysmal and the people are insufferable. There is an extreme drug problem going on here. We also have an extremely bad housing market due to this show now. We could hardly afford rent 10 years ago paying 950 for a 3bed2 bath NICE HOUSE, now long after this shows popularity and the arrival of tourists, there are literal mobile homes listing for 900 a month. It's ridiculous and hurting the actual lifelong residents financially.
I love looking at the homes in Laurel.Looks like a nice place to live.I like the work Erin and Ben do Chip and Joanna Gaines are just up the road a ways from me Might have to Waco sometime, only driven through it
I would love to travel there too❤️ Love their show! I have 2 Great Danes one brindle one mantle. I would have to travel with mine too there stuck to us like Velcro! Yours is beautiful!
What a fun visit. I just came across your channel and will be trying some of your previous adventures. Your pace is comfortable with a great vibe. Looking forward to watching the channel grow.
Im really happy yall got to see all the christmas trees i always like seeing them every year also yall should come back and try to see an outdoor movie downtown they are free and super fun 😊
That sounds great! We are definitely planning on returning sometime. We bought some swag from the Mercantile that got stolen out of our vehicle in Seattle. So I guess we have to come back. I really liked the Scotsman mug. Oh well.
Lived there for 20 years, y'all haven't visited the hood in the woods of north laurel. This is only the nice areas. Someone needs to do a video where the Cheyenne/Cherokee Ave area is and spend the night there.
OK so I'm confused the soman vlearly has a summer top on and what's with the Christmas stuff isn't all dake anyway I haven't really seen any history fir Laurel
Well even at Christmas time it is warm in Laurel! The episode was more of us exploring the town which is historic. Especially the old downtown and the beautiful old homes. Laurel was famous for its southern Yellow Pine and brickworks which can be seen in the buildings.
My Great Dane just crossed the rainbow bridge. Thanks for sharing Wesley ❤️😔

Love Home Town!
We do too!
Thanks for the video, it's nice to see the town from a different perspective.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes I think they are starting to do more properties farther out but there is a lot of work still to be done.

Please go for a visit ‼️
Your and your family roots are a part of Laurel’s history 😊
You should. I am so impressed at what the people of this town have done to revitalize the area and honor the memory of such people as your father.
Good luck on this page and your vlogs !
Glad yall enjoyed our little town! much love!

This was FUN💖TY
Thanks. We are so glad you enjoyed our adventure!
12:00 That home renovation episode was an emotional one... home town is indeed a simple and grounded reality show.
- A viewer from india
I was glad to discover that Laurel is not just grounded for views, but the town is really how it is portrayed on TV.
Precious little home town!

You should come around during Halloween. Wonderful time of festivities!
We will certainly be back and I think the fall would be the best time.

We live about a mile from the solar place. 😊
We hope you enjoyed seeing things through our eyes!
Thanks for sharing! I would love to visit this town. Didn’t even know it was an HGTV show. 🤷🏻♀️
I think it is one of the best. It is really like it is on TV.

Went to school with the one of the smaller siblings of the napier's. Marcy napier. She was stuck up as hell. Grew up rich.
The music can just go want yo feel feel the place
Ben and Erin are correct....it was so fun seeing some of the building that are in the intro's to the show. Glad Wesley got to meet zeus....lol.
Zeus makes Wesley look small. But I am glad we all met too.

Love your dog, looks like ours. Beautiful walk through Laurel, thank you for taking me with you.
You are welcome. We love him!
Winter, no jackets?! (I too, love the dog. Now, I only love other people's dogs 'cause I don't have to take care of them!)
There is something to be said about living vicariously through others!
Laurel looks like a great town to visit. Really beautiful
Thanks. It is really a nice place.
Thank you for an awesome view of Laurel! Safe travels!
Thank you!
The one thing I font see downtown is any vegetation where I live our town has tress a beautiful park and tons of flowers
Well it is December so most of the flowers will bloom in the spring.
I would love to travel there too❤️ Love their show! I have 2 Great Danes one brindle one mantle. I would have to travel with mine too there stuck to us like Velcro! Yours is beautiful!
Yes, Velcro, exactly! But we sure do love the big goofball!
What a fun visit. I just came across your channel and will be trying some of your previous adventures. Your pace is comfortable with a great vibe. Looking forward to watching the channel grow.
Thank you so much! It is hard to know how to pace things but we are getting better. It is good to have you along for the ride!

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that your stuff got stolen
Just found your channel and subscribed. Laurel is so much cuter from a street perspective than it looks on tv!
Thanks. We are so glad you are subscribed!
I grew up in Laurel, moved to California in 1965 and have been back to Laurel only twice since then...it has sure grown 😊
I have seen some of the photos of the town before the renovations started to happen. It sure has come alive!
Lived there for 20 years, y'all haven't visited the hood in the woods of north laurel. This is only the nice areas. Someone needs to do a video where the Cheyenne/Cherokee Ave area is and spend the night there.
ayy nawf nawf 🖤
I live here 😂
I hope you enjoyed the view through our eyes. You have a very nice town.

Where are the people?
We were there during the week. I think downtown sees the most people during the summer and on the weekends.
I live here there are no people it is a dead town
We are in our houses if we ain't at work. Duh.
Good place to live in??
it seems a very sad city
LAW-rel. Not. Lore-ull
Very tacky Christmas decorations
I think they would have looked better lit up at night.
