This was a great chat. I understood what Dante meant by not wanting to be bullied into doing anything, but there comes a time when you have to realize it's not just about you, especially when you are in the public eye. It calls for humility, and us knowing that we are representing Christ and our works should glorify God in heaven. Our lives should honour him daily. As "celebrities" their lives are out there in the world for everyone to see, meaning every mistake, decision, etc. they make is out in the open for us to see. Meanwhile, we have the comfort of making mistakes, decisions, etc. with privacy and out of the public eye. We all make mistakes, granted theirs will be out in the open, and acknowledging them & their own personal relationship with God should be enough. No one can speak to what their personal relationship with God is so I don't think people should be quick to point fingers and nitpick at one's life without first pointing the finger back at themselves. All in all, in being in such a spotlight, Dante is basically obliged to be careful about what he posts and talks about in relation to God & giving glory to Him through his life. Those outside that bubble cannot attest to his personal relationship with God like Naomi because we simply are not close to him. I think everyone wants to be used by God until it costs and requires you to die to self completely. Your ways, your thinking, your time, your opinions, your emotions, your dreams, your will, what seems right to you. And with all of our gifting and calling, it is only to glorify Him by His spirit so we must make ourselves a pure and holy vessel! With that the cost is huge but so worth it. Omg! I never heard anyone explain the “pressure” of being watched even with ppl who know you. As a former pastors wife this is one thing I always hated! I didn’t always want to be “on” in public. Sometimes I just wanted to chill like everyone else, but ppl would constantly watch me. They would misinterpret my facial expressions (I have RBF) lol, I can’t help it. If I speak ppl hang on to my words and share them with others making me feel like I always had to be careful. I get it. I’m no longer in that position so I’ve been freed, thank God!

I agree with you Naomi, because God has graced you with responsibilities (we all must be accountable) there are so many young adults, teenagers and older folks that look up to you guys. Yes you're still human subject to failure, but daily we must self evaluate. Our lives should still be pleasing to God, we are called to be transformed by the re-knewing of our minds. We must not become comfortable with sin, yes we live and were born in sin, but when we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord our hearts and minds should be changed. @Naomi Raine, what you and Dante explained to me is that thing where “to whom much is given much is required.” There is totally an expectation for people in the spotlight in almost any sort of way, to be almost near-perfect when your name and your ministry (or service as it is) is in the spotlight. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s definitely a real thing. But even with all of that, as gifted or talented as any of us may be, we are still people and subject to expressing normal human error and traits. I do think there’s also a thing where in and of ourselves when we’re in the light, we feel a sense of obligation to sometimes be a certain way as opposed to just being vulnerable and relaxed as the people that we are. We don’t want to be friends with everybody and we don’t always want to entertain or to just always have to act like everything’s okay when it’s not. So I think both of those things combined is a recipe for disaster if you’re not constantly leaning in to God and you don’t have that good reliable and dependable friend or support system that you can go to whenever. But thank God for His grace and for accepting us as we are. And thank God for the people who we can just be real and vulnerable with all the time.

I agree with you Naomi, because God has graced you with responsibilities (we all must be accountable) there are so many young adults, teenagers and older folks that look up to you guys. Yes you're still human subject to failure, but daily we must self evaluate. Our lives should still be pleasing to God, we are called to be transformed by the re-knewing of our minds. We must not become comfortable with sin, yes we live and were born in sin, but when we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord our hearts and minds should be changed. I judge or condemn no one, but i believe in being accountable. Saying hello Naomi all the way from the Bahamas.

Getting an even greater understanding of how the Heavenly Father wants to use you and Maverick City in this hour is important!! He is using your platform not like of old, former worship artists, but is doing a new thing! He wants to use Maverick City in purity and holiness with the songs written for His Glory! Please always pray and seek the Father about who to connect with in the Industry. I believe Maverick City's assignment is to draw people to Jesus Christ through pure worship where transformation occurs right in the room or ministering environment by His presence and power. Caution: the worship He downloads to you is not to be for entertainment (where man becomes idolized or worshipped more than the creator, secular or worldly) but rather to create an atmosphere that ushers people directly into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, and He is glorified. In His presence, people will see and focus on Jesus whether eyes open or closed. They will experience such a strong presence and willingly bow and surrender, cry out, let go of pride and walk in humility, and receive God's healing and deliverance by His anointing and power. @Naomi Raine, what you and Dante explained to me is that thing where “to whom much is given much is required.” There is totally an expectation for people in the spotlight in almost any sort of way, to be almost near-perfect when your name and your ministry (or service as it is) is in the spotlight. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s definitely a real thing. But even with all of that, as gifted or talented as any of us may be, we are still people and subject to expressing normal human error and traits. I do think there’s also a thing where in and of ourselves when we’re in the light, we feel a sense of obligation to sometimes be a certain way as opposed to just being vulnerable and relaxed as the people that we are. We don’t want to be friends with everybody and we don’t always want to entertain or to just always have to act like everything’s okay when it’s not. So I think both of those things combined is a recipe for disaster if you’re not constantly leaning in to God and you don’t have that good reliable and dependable friend or support system that you can go to whenever. But thank God for His grace and for accepting us as we are. And thank God for the people who we can just be real and vulnerable with all the time.
