No wonder it has taken unions so long to form when they need 50% of workers, when a large % are on a temporary contract and just want a quick buck. With zero hours and visa structure the effective % needed needs to be considerably smaller.

The whole attitude towards workers right now is horrifying, you're treated as you're expendable, you have an injury at work? Or your body cant cope any more? You're out the line of people waiting is long, by design, of course. You're treated as your just an item that can be used, broken and thrown away. This is why we need unions. And this is why I believe, the union vote should only count for people who've been hired for 6 months minimum and no temp workers, to stop this practise of temp-hires being used to skew the vote.

Why does anyone whatsoever ever need to be 'under cover' in the UK 2023? If workers weren't petrified to speak - the truth? So much for workers being protected, to merely, speak at all. What are employers so afraid of - it's pretty obvious isn't it? So much for 'freedom of speech' in the UK in 2023. As always it seems to be the right wing that promote and call for freedom of speech (they're right), but actually oppress exactly that when it's for ordinary working peoples freedom of speech? There is no freedom of speech in the GB, in relation to employment, until you've been employed for 2 years (or 1 year in NI); because you can be sacked for saying anything at all, with no reason needed to be given at all, by the employer. So, this, is, the, UK, in, 2023.

The plain lie at 5:21 - all of that is done by packers. You don't need seperate people to open, then close a box 😂
I've worked in the Amazon warehouses for over 4 Christmases, each time conditions got better (first time didn't have AC - that was tough). We knew the jobs were temporary - 3 months and then dismissed after the busy Xmas period. Repeat.
First off, warehouse work is naturally tough. Complaining its slavery because it isn't an office job is silly.
We aren't worked to the bone. We can go to the toilet whenever we want - obviously if you're taking the P, they will call you up on it.
Night shift pay + 1.5x pay at 50, 2x pay at 60 hours, was pretty good, especially for a manual job with a minimal required skillset.
If you have a physical condition, obviously you shouldn't apply.
And warehouse theft is common - ask small and medium sized companies about it. That's why there are cameras and security.
