One thing I noticed was that each time Dan Wilson made a mound visit, good things happened.
Servais never once did a mount visit.

EXCELLENT highlights MLB RUclips. It’s not easy to condense a 3 hour game into 10 minutes and you guys consistently do an excellent job at showing the important stuff. Even the injury updates. EXCELLENT work. Many other sports could take note.

That matchup with Ray verses Raleigh must have been fun. And it would have been worth the price of a ticket to see.
Yep, when that player stole third. With Raleigh at the plate, the table was set. You knew that would be a battle. And Raleigh won that round with an RBI. That's the type of thing that I love about MLB.
Also that's the type of aggression that Lou Panella was famous for. And it's also a good indicator of how this manager will manage games moving forward. Remember that "pitchout" the other day? Even the commentators were talking about how old school that play is. But it sure was fun to watch.
Again, just keep the opposing teams scoring at 3-runs and under per game. And you'll be in a good position to win the division.
Just a reminder, winning the division is the ONLY way you'll make the playoffs this year.

4.5 games back…..very doable still. M’s just need a good winning streak. They just need to score some runs each and every game. With Edgar as batting coach, I’m thinking very positive that each at bat from every player will feel like it’s life or death situation. That’s how Edgar approached the plate.

I like Dan Wilson, but let's not get too hot on him as a manager yet, the M's have squeaked by 2 wins since he has taken over and both games could have easily been losses. I'm not being a pessimest, but 2 games in a row doesn't make him a genius or a HOF manager. Give it 25 games and then we shall see.

Okay not pertaining to this game or any game specifically BUT can someone explain to me a rule that has bothered me for some time?
I know it doesn't happen often but it does happen: why are runners on third allowed to try and score on fly balls that are caught in foul territory as if it was a sac fly? Runners aren't allowed to advance on foul balls so why would one that is caught be any different?
@3SailorMartin I'm not 100% sure on the rule, but I believe if a player catches the ball in foul territory, the ball is technically still in play because it never touched the ground.

@ryanball2754 OK here's another rule that I find a little confusing: the infield fly rule. Here's where they lose me:
from what I understand it's to prevent the infielder from deliberately letting the ball touch the ground to induce a double play BUT
1 anybody knows that you're not running on a pop up to the infield anyway so
2 the baserunners would remain where they are assuming the ball would be caught and by the time the ball hit the ground they would know there was no point to trying to advance so
3 the only out would be the batter
@3SailorMartin You are right, it's to prevent an easy double or even a triple play. If I remember right, the infield fly rule is only in effect when there are 2 or 3 runners on base and 1 out or less. It allows the runners to not worry about the fielder just dropping the ball.
@ryanball2754 maybe I'm being obtuse but I still don't get the point. Why would any idiot on base run on a routine pop fly in the infield on the off chance they wouldn't catch it? The safest bet would be to stay on the base you're on and have only the one our. Why would they even need a rule like this?
