Thanks! Something I want to mention, if the tail light works, but the brake light doesn't. The bulb is a double filament bulb, one bulb works the tail light and brake light. By replacing the tail light bulb, you're also replacing the brake light bulb.
@@daniellec.7508 Yes, the replacement light bulb would be a "Sylvania 3157", this is what I put in my 2014 Ford Escape. The bulb works as the tail light and brake light, it basically has two bulbs (filaments) in one bulb. If you replaced the bulb, and the tail light works, but the brake light still doesn't work, then you might have a wiring issue or a bad brake switch. Here is a link for the brake light switch. ruclips.net/video/UMW1RIZQEzQ/видео.html I hope this helps.
Hey, your info was great. Was quoted $30 for a technician to change out the bulb. I thought, if he can do it so can I. I got it done in less than 15 min. with the help of your video of course. Thank you very much!
Quick Tip: To remove the assembly easier just pull on the rubber at the corner up to the left of the top fastener hole and it should pop out for you, instead of having to push in on the side of the lens. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for this! The bulb was out on the left side. Slid housing straight back and she came right out. What I found was both filaments we're still good. Went and got my spare bulbs and a tester. Turns out the bulb was still bad. It had burned and melted the plastic base. New build cleared the fault.
@@PLANET_BRUNO After a few days it just stopped showing that fault, but then I started getting a 'hill start assist unavailable' warning. That one comes and goes every other day. Nothing figured out with that.
Thank you 🙏🏻... this video was very helpful. Saved me $30 plus dllrs at ford dealership. My son bought me the light bulb and allowed me to borrow the tools needed to change the light. Thanks again! 👍
Same problem here... still looking for a solution. One website says that worn brake pads also trigger this alarm. This seems wrong but I'm waiting to get the car from my kid to check it.
Step 1: Drive to nearest non Ford dealer. Step 2: Trade it for something else. Step 3: No more worries about more expensive repairs like transmission or engine replacement.
Ali Sadat I believe that error is coming up because the system senses lower voltage at the LED light as compared to regular lights; LEDs use less energy so it’s looking at the voltage and thinking the light has blown out. You can still use the LED lights if you don’t mind the error popping up ever time. I wish we could use LEDs without the error coming up, but I’ve yet to find a workaround so far. Maybe if you search a few Ford forums online they might have found a way to do this; it would be pretty cool if someone figured out a fix.
I guess I can just ignore it :) btw I got the 2.0 turbo and man this thing drives ! I have put many Range rovers, Cadillac’s, BMWs and so on in dust. It’s been my fav car so far. Only thing I’m upset is that I bought the 3000 warranty and every time I go in they don’t cover it or it’s not covered because of this and that... that was a waste...
I did this bulb change on the left side. It was a bitch. I tried different methods from other guys tips on RUclips. The only one that worked, and it worked fantastic was shown by an old guy in his 70’s. Duct tape. Run a long strip of duct tape from the front all the way to the rear and make a big loop handle out of the tape. Stick it down real well then pull straight back. Bingo. It popped off like nothing. I did my right side yesterday and it did not need any assistance. It popped off by just pulling back with my hands. Unfortunately the bulb change did not fix the brake lamp outage. I need to check for a short.
I'm a 56 year old female and I want you to know, I just changed both brake lights out today (in 20 minutes) by watching your video . Thank you!!

Could you explain further. My taillight works, buy the brake light doesn't. I changed the break light and it is still not working.

Thank you! Got it done. I took a (harmless) tumble pulling out the assembly when it finally let loose LOL.
Nobody talks about the bulb in the hatch door :(
Same fault in a 2014 Focus Titanium. Replacing both bulbs didn't fix it. Any ideas? Are the running lights tied into this warning?
Did you find the solution I'm having the same issue

Sin Really Kills No problem! Happy to help! ✌️
Question- replaced bulbs, they work, yay. But the dash light still comes on and I can’t figure out how to make it go away. Thoughts?

@@dinuguan510 that’s interesting. I know my rear brakes need to be replaced. I’ll let you know if it turns off when I do that.
thank you for explaining very easy to understand I will try this later on when it gets cool.

I have the same issue after replacing the bulb
Did you find the solution for this I'm having the same issue
What kind of bulb did you buy?
I used a Sylvania LongLife Mini Bulb 3157.
It was hell getting that brake light out, had to use rubber grill gloves.
I changed bulb, still getting fault message
Thanks for the video
Hope this video helps.
Ok....well I thought this was going to be a simple thing for this girl, but nah....I'm just gonna take it and have someone else fight with it....lol.
I’m having a hard time popping out the light after screwing them all out 😫
