When I became an adult and bought my own home I realized many Jamaicans aren’t aware that property tax takes care of our communities. Unfortunately many don’t pay their property taxes and get upset that their community isn’t taken care of the way they want and expect. So funds are limited and some get neglected, I pray that the little that is there can stretch for everyone in need.

I live in the U.S.A. my family in Clarendon , We talk on a daily basis, i know there is no power because of the Storm but i pray that they are ok and my fellow Jamaicans. 🙏🇯🇲🇺🇲 I am so worried. can't wait to hear from them.
Most of the cellphone system is down. I've heard 50% being quoted.
You are not alone l cannot get in touch with my family also, the cell service is very unstable. The land lines are totally out.

My sympathy goes out to everyone in the Caribbean that was affected by this Hurricane,
But prayers is a Joke, prayers is like a scam, because if true, prayers would be much the
same of causing God to do things he would not do otherwise, The question we should be
asking is this, Which God is responsible for all these Natural disasters around the world ?
The entire natural world, is filled with all sorts of suffering caused by things beyond
Human control, Therefore, God does not exist in reality,
Anything that exists only in people's imagination cannot be said to exist in reality, God is
described in various holy books as a being who has said and done and promised to do
Specific Things, For which there should be some discoverable evidence if true, ( and
preventing these natural disasters from decimating peoples lives would be a good time
To start showing his powers ), However, None of the evidence that should be discoverable
if God actually exists, has ever been discovered. Or is it more likely, That God if he exists,
Cannot brake the laws of Nature ?
That is remarkable to see the people assisting to clear the roads ..This shows a high level of community involvement.
But if they don’t clean it how they going to get around 😊

Not in all communities. I passed a bunch a waste men sitting next to a down tree which is blocking the roadway in a community a day after the hurricane. They sat and watched cars struggled to pass and they did nothing but smoke and drink rum. One big set a waste men them!

People be thankful for life, i have seen worse in other countries and they are humble. I was in hurricane Irma and we didn"t have electricity for 3 months, not to mention food and place to sleep. Please thank God for life everything is going to be alright but it takes time

I have many Jamaican friends grew up with families very resilient and hard working people.. I hope they will recover from this disaster 🙌🏽the local MP's should be visiting their constituents and find out what can be done as soon as possible!!
Is it possible for the JPS to bury some electric wiring where possible and use poles made of steal instead of wood? I understand it might be expensive but considering Jamaica is a hurricane prone country in the long term it will be cost effective.

Woooooow praying for my country 🇯🇲 really sad but Jamaica needs to plan for the future due to the fact that hurricanes 🌀 always passed by. What I mean is (eg)all electric wires must run under ground and eliminate light poles
Maybe they could put some of the excessive taxes towards some hurricane insurance instead of their pockets or money/liquidated assets seized from criminals . How me sound?

Hi you all out there Good Afternoon ,God don't gaves us more than we can bear and all what is happening is for us to get closed to God because the end of the times is near amen.
I have an idea. Tapia. This is the Portuguese name for shell concrete. You are on an island, so you have shells. The older it is, the stronger it is. The English gave up on shooting cannonballs at Moorish forts because they just bounced off. Rebuild using oval homes. Facing towards where the wind comes from. The houses are cheap to build. Yet anything that hits them have no chance. Pain for furniture, but what is better? Protection or decoration? Reuse toppled blocks to make the mix. And don't destroy the environment!!! A house that the kids can move into is something important. And reliable.
You do need a good supply of fuel to get the shells cooked before you can make the slaked Lime. A solar collector would be a good idea. This can also be used to drive steam turbines for electricity.
Big pond has been a problem before I was born and I am 44 years old.too much hustler getting the contract to fix the drain .The money is going in the wrong hands
