Staten Island's Abandoned Seaview Hospital

  • Through the trees, you can see the abandoned Seaview Children’s Hospital on Staten Island in New York City. Not only are all of these buildings empty, there is also an abandoned tunnel system below the earth, connecting the buildings to each other. Seaview was actually one of the largest tuberculosis hospitals in the country, built on top of a 25 acre plot of land that had previously housed the state of Charles Schmidt and gone by the name Ocean View. If you visit by car, you can get a bit closer but we hiked here and weren’t able to get past the very steep valley, actually named Bloody Valley, that cuts through the back of the property.

    Ive been here with friends in my teens and saw loads of shadow figures. The more nervous you get the more apparent they became. At the time it was really hard remembering my way out which only added to the anxiety.

    Wow they ßhould open it again
