    Without doubt one of the best and most practical Tutorials I’ve ever come across. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I once heard a saying, “ when a professional player imparts their knowledge, it can be worth hours and hours of isolated struggle” . It’s encouraged my determination to study and improve my playing during this Lockdown period. I will follow with great interest.

    Thank you, I took lessons in the mid to later 70's and there were no TAB's then ( at least not to my knowledge ). Sadly I've forgotten how to read the tablature but it comes back quickly with your video.
    As you mentioned this was very frustrating to me back then because I'd buy a music book of let's say The Beatles and I never knew what key it was in and this was one of the reasons why I just chose to simply give up. ( Something I've always regretted and finally decided to get back with it now )
    Again, thank you for your time.

      Thank you for your time watching the videos. I tend to find people learn better as they get older, because they become more patient, so perhaps you can now master the instrument. But even if you don't you should get joy out of playing it . . . 😊

    Hi, this lesson was very informative and enjoyable. I bought your full courses several years ago, would I be correct in presuming that these lessons are covered within the PDF printout for Month 12 of Unit 1 (As it was then)?

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  4 года назад +1

      Hi Phil. This course is new and was only finished literally 15 minute ago. The eBooks will change over the next few weeks as I make the videos and discover mistakes I've made . . I always make a few . . 😒
      I'll let you know when I'm done, but for the time being you can see on the web site because I can change that one easily.

  • @guidofeliz8384
    @guidofeliz8384 2 года назад +1

    I know how to read tabs at an intermediate level. However, I am having trouble playing the guitar without looking at the fretboard. Tell me, how does one play the guitar while reading the tabs and not looking at the fretboard? How is this done?

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  2 года назад +1

      Sadly there's no quick way around this. As you practise you get more use to the feel of the guitar until you can eventually play without looking at the fretboard. You can practise trying to play without looking at the neck but is still takes a while to be able to do it with ease. I hope this helps 😊

    as I understand there are separate notations for strumming a chord. I understand the need to simplify for a beginner rather than write many individual notes of the chord on the staff. but why not use strumming slashes notations? Is this exercise showing root notations to help associate a chord with its root? and if so, do you communicate this to a beginning student to avoid confusion later on? I'm a bit confused about this exercise. hope you could help. ty

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  Год назад

      The complete course teaches how to read music (rhythm and notes), so getting used to seeing the root and associate the name with the note position on the staff will help later in the course. Once you can read music properly, reading strumming slashes takes very little explanation but it's not true the other way round.

    Only problem in notations is how do we identify if any note is open string or closed note and high note and on which string and like 12th fret or 5th fret in tabs its damn easy...please reply

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  3 года назад +1

      commercial music is marked with the finger positions. But no doubt it's easier to use tab. 😊
