Hummingbirds are my favorite animal! We've planted tons of flowers to attract more pollinators to our yard, and it worked! I've loved watching the hummingbirds.
Dogs are by far my favorite animal! They are so so pure and kind, we really don’t deserve them 🥺 they are so loving and it’s like unconditional, without a doubt. Love that so much about them ❤️ I grew up with a big boxer/ german shepherd dog mix and this was by far the kindest animal i‘ve ever known. He lived with my grandparents and my favorite childhood memories include him. I always played dress up with him and on new years eve I but a hat and bow tie on him, poor dog! Bless him, he was so patient with 5 year old me. 😂❤️ A few years ago we rescued a dog from the shelter since we had to put our first one down sadly and this little fire cracker really keeps my grandparents up and gives them a purpose! Dogs are really good companions and for me, they‘re always a full member of our family! We do everything for them as they give us so much back in every was possible ❤️🥰
Elephants and Bats 🦇 (I just love those misunderstood sky puppies)
I love watching the squirrels in nature. I know a lot of people do not like them, but we have actually raised orphan squirrels in the past and we have found a love for them. They are quite funny, quirky little creatures that remind me of toddlers. But that is what I really enjoy!
Elephants! Elephants are by far my favorite animal! We love incorporating nature walks into our school days when we can, depending on if chemo kicks my butt more so than not (prayers appreciated that I have more good days than bad!). Our 2 oldest are, of course, more interested than the 2 youngest but as time goes on, I'm sure the youngest 2 will show more interest. The youngest 2 are just starting their kindergarten year this year so we're going to have lots of fun. XOXOXO ~Crystal
The hippopotamus! My Grandfather used to sing a song about them! "Mud, mud, glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood, so follow me, follow, down to the hollow and there we shall wallow, in glorious mud!" I now sing this to my children (usually when we've got cold and wet on a nature walk in the rainy countryside, we are from Somerset in England by the coast!) The animal fascinates me and the job they do within their habitat is beautiful to learn about! ♥️
Definitely birds! Love watching them, studying them and we have them as pets as well. ❤️ My second favorite animal is the giraffe. So beautiful.
Sea Otters are my absolute favorite animal. When I was a freshman in high school, our biology class got to help clean & care for the sea otters and other animals affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska (where I grew up). It was the most heartbreaking yet rewarding thing I think I’ve ever done and I have loved those feisty little critters ever since.
I ordered the Hello Nature book on Amazon but also found activity cards to accompany them that I think you might be interested in. They look perfect for our family with varying ages from 11 to 3. I’m super excited about them! Thank you for sharing all your great finds with us! 📚📝🔎🌲🌿

My favorite animal is a dog! I've always had dogs growing up and into my adult years. I just love how they are always there for you, loving you unconditionally, and never judging you.
I love BEES! We are actually going to do a whole unit on bees this year for our morning basket.
I’m an animal lover here so it’s really hard to say one favorite, but if I must choose, I will go with dogs because I can see them on a daily basis, touch them, and enjoy them! They bring so much love, comfort, and joy to me!
Orcas are my favorite animal! 🖤 kind of whales and dolphins in general but specifically orcas. Just love them! 😍
My favorite animal is a bluebird. My great grandma always called us grandkids her little bluebirds. It’s such a sweet reminder of her when we see bluebirds. I can tell my kids stories about her and make her a real person and not just an ancestor.
My very favorite animal is an otter. They are so cute and sweet.
My favorite animals are dogs. When they are loved and cared for properly, their loyalty, intelligence, sense of humor, and playfulness is immeasurable. But honestly, my family loves watching the deer, squirrels, bunnies, groundhogs, turkeys, hummingbirds, and many other birds that frolic through our acreage. :)

Butterflies, I love all their colors and creatively designed patterns, so beautiful! I find myself completely engrossed with him when I'm outside!

There are a lot of amazing animals in this crazy world, and I love so many of them, but you just can't beat a dog. The way they love you and the endless grace they show is unparalleled.
Here is a super fun idea. Go to the paint store and get colored paint strips. All colors. Don't try to plan what colors might be on your hike adventure just get every color there is. Each child grabs a color and goes looking for a plant or article in nature that matches their color. They then draw it and put it in their journal. So amazing how easy it is to find the colors.
Literally watching tons of hummingbirds at our feeders on the backyard. They’re super fun to watch!
Favorite animal right now are chickens! We got 7 chicks this year & have loved watching them grow & now we get to gather & enjoy their eggs. It’s taught my kids how to love & observe & take care of animals. ❤️🐓🐓🥚
Oh, what a great question. My favorite animal is the Orca. They are beautiful, family creatures, and they live with a hustle. I love their “I’m all about it” way of being. 🥰
Hippopotamus is by far my favorite! Christmas time isnt even Christmas to me fully until I hear the song "All I Want for Christmas is a Hippopotamus"! My sons favorite is Elephants every time we go to the zoo that's our 1st and last stop he loves talking to them it's so cute! ALSO wanted to say I love your newsletter!
I love these videos so much. Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge does a lot of work on the early years and childhood development and one of the things she speaks about is the importance of learning outside and what good that does for the brain. I was watching her discuss that with a panel on RUclips yesterday and now your video is saying this.. synchronicity ✨ such a lovely idea. I can’t wait to have kids and take them on an outing like this 😊 I love the bag tip too, keep it all in there so it’s always ready and the stuff doesn’t get lost. Thank you!
Turtles and frogs are my favorite animals. Love to come across them and let kiddos watch them be the best little creatures they can be
I’m a dog addict. But I agree with Ella, otters are my favorite to see at aquariums and zoos! They are so fun to watch.
Love this!! I love dogs! But I also love hummingbirds. A mama hummingbird made a nest on our string of lights on our patio. She had two babies and we got to witness it all. It was right beside my washing machine.(I live in SoCAL so my w/d is outside on the patio) We have tons of video and pictures. My five little girls were sooooo excited. It was a really good couple of months. We also had just watched the documentary on amazon about the same thing like a few weeks before. So it was such a nice treat to have our own mama bird and babies!! The eggs were SO tiny.
We adopted a retired racing greyhound a couple of years ago, and she is fantastic with the kiddos. I'd have to say she has put dogs at the top of my list. 🥰

Really enjoying this homeschool series! It may be a popular answer but as far as mammals go I would have to say horses. They’re just so strong and gentle and beautiful! But I love so many different animals too!

Currently my kiddos and I are digging Narwhals!!! My son picked a Narwhal for his natural habitat project last year ( Mr. Narwhal from Buddy the Elf was his inspiration)! And I also have a new found love of birds!!! Gosh, admitting that I love to start my day with a cup of coffee , daily devotional, and bird watching on the sunporch makes me feel really old. Yikes! But it's true! And if I have to take it WAAAaay back..... I would say....... Horse!!!!
My favorite animal is a dolphin. I used to help raise and rehabilitate stranded dolphins. It's fun to share those stories with my kids. With having first-hand experience that takes the facts and makes them more real.
Flamingos! Everytime I see them at the zoo I struggle to look away because of how beautiful they are!
Hi Angela! Thank you for all the videos, love watching them! My favorite animals are dogs especially now that we have one. We adopted our chiweenie (a mix of chihuahua and dachshund) from a rescue TinyPaws. She was found wondering the streets of Philly in December, had frostbite on her ears. She still has scars from that. She's so sweet and small. Now of course she's living it up and getting lots of love and kisses, especially from the kids💗
Loving this video series, Angela! Such good information. While my daughter is young--only 1.5 years old--it gives a lot of food for thought for the direction we may take with her future schooling. So thank you very much for providing this thought-provoking and creative content!!! I'd have to say my favourite animal is a dog--just because they truly can be your best friend and are so intuitive, though I will say I have been blessed with an amazing dog during my childhood and now an equally amazing dog during adulthood. My favorite animal is a barn owl, which I was inspired by the book series The Guardians of Ga'hoole that I started reading in middle school and enjoyed for many years. And actually, I think Kennedy and Shelby might be in a perfect age range for them and really love them. I was a little older (8th grade) but I always enjoyed reading a little easier than my grade level even though I did well in school, and I see them listed as 8-12 years old. I feel like your kids have probably seen the movie- I almost remember it being in a vlog, but that might be my mind playing tricks on me.

I've always loved horses. I used to have all kinds of horse figurines growing up. My favorite was a foot tall, glass, sculpture of a black stalion. Lol! Idk how I played with it....but I did. Anyway.... that's all I know about horses.

TOTALLY not picking on you, just offering some advice as a fellow content creator: RUclips TOU say you cannot ask people to be subscribed to enter a giveaway. They can(and I've seen them do it several times) delete entire channels, single videos, etc, for doing so. The only thing you can ask people to do to enter is leave a comment, according to their TOU. That said, I love how you incorporate the Polaroid in your nature journals, etc. Such a great idea!

I just found your channel and having a nature backpack sounds like an awesome idea! My kids would definitely love to draw outside in nature and take pictures of all the beautiful things they find in out nature walks.

I love emperor penguins! They are so cute and look a little silly, but their life is a story of resilience. It's so amazing how they work together to pass through the winters.
Owls! My Nana passed away when I was 8 and was one of the most important people in my life. She had a love for owls and when she passed, I got an owl necklace of hers and my love for them grew from there.

My favorite animal is probably sea otters, but really I love them all. For individual nature notebooks we use Strathmore 5x8 sketchbooks, they're a really portable size but still have the heavy paper. Sometimes you can get them in a bulk pack on Amazon. Also check out Faber-Castell watercolor pencils, my oldest loves them.
My favorite animal is a seahorse! I think it’s so precious how the male seahorse carries the eggs in his pouch, and they mate for life!

My favorite animal is the owl 🦉 they are beautiful, quirky, and as a kid I loved falling asleep to their calls on our annual family camping trip.
My children and I have gotten a lot of daily joy out of birds. We have a pair of cardinals that roost in our BlackBerry bushes and I think for a lot of children birds will be their first experience with animals. I think birds are one of those extraordinary and ordinary things about life. :)
I absolutely love to watch deer. I grew up on 13 acres and had dozens of deer that would come through our property to go from one set of woods to another.
My favorite animal is... elephants. They have a very good memory and can remember how to paint and all kinds of stuff!
We go out for nature walks quite often but we haven't done note booking or anything. My daughters enjoy photography though so they bring their digital cameras everywhere. My favorite animal has always been frogs or toads since I was a little kid.

Insects ! Well I personally am not the biggest fan but I’m learning to love them again with my son when we are out exploring nature. He loves to say Hello to them all and watch where they go ! (Butterflies & Fuzzy Caterpillars are his current favorite)
My favorite animal is horses! I can't wait to have more time and have my own horse again. I share the same passion with my 2 girls, it is really great bonding time when we are all out with their horses and I teach them to ride.

We just started homeschooling for the first time this year and have been loving it! I love the idea of nature journaling. I think my kids would love it! I would say my(and my husband) favorite animal would be a red cardinal.
Monarch Butterflies are my favorite thing right now. I raise and release them. I'm ending my season (and so are they). I have 5 chrysalises and 1 caterpillar on my back deck that need to finish metamorphosis before putting the cages away.
I would normally say cats but ever since we rescued our puppy from a parking lot three months ago I'm starting to lean towards dogs he has totally stolen my heart ❤️
I enjoy watching the moose, she comes early spring and calves out by the spring on our property. She's here for about 2 months and then leaves until next spring.
