first off, congrats! Great video, thanks for delving into your thoughts on the reasoning for each card. I learned a lot! Maybe I'll see you in Seattle, cuz I'm going to be there for that regional too!
Pro tip: even when you’re siding in for going 2nd, side in both dimension barriers. Not only for the very reason you indicated, but because it will win you the game at pivotal moments in mid or late game. Turning off their extra deck mechanic at just the right time seals the deal. For example, when you both have not much on board and you’re both trying to put something on board to attack for game, when they go for their play, you d-barrier them. In that example, that is likely the last of their ability to build a board, so now you’ve got free reign to build yours.
because the best deck right now is Unchained. More to the point, there's several strong decks out there that don't care about D-Barrier, so you never want to main deck things that are only good in certain matchups. For that matter, that's why I disagree with main decking things like book of moon. They're good against Kash and Purrely, but nothing else. Sure, if you're sitting at the top tables, you're likely to see mostly Kash and Purrely (ignoring Unchained for the sake of this argument) so Book is good, but you can't just build your deck expecting that you will specifically only face those two decks all day. It's better to play more well-rounded cards that are good in every matchup. For example, Kaijus. Now, I know the consensus is that Kaijus aren't all that strong, however the consensus fails to consider a few things. First, Kaijus are good against just about any board. Second, if you look at any given board, there's usually only 1 monster that's too difficult to get over going 2nd. Sure, they usually have more than one monster on board, but only one of those monsters is too much of a threat (think Purrely or Dragoon), the rest of their board can be played through. In my opinion, the best thing to do is get rid of their biggest threat then play through the rest, then game 2 is when you side in stuff to take on specific decks. For that reason, Dimension Barrier is best suited for the side deck. However, it definitely can catch players off guard if you decide to main deck it. But you risk having dead cards in your main deck. @@bakersdozzzen6553
Really nice deck profile, personally I think it’s better to just play Dark Magician because the pop and burn effect on Dragoon is so good, and DM can still be used as material for G Chimera or Magnum so it’s not completely dead in hand, and frequently I find myself wishing I had DM in hand anyway so I could send Berfomet off Branded Fusion lol. Either way Versago is def better than Light Hex because shuffling stuff back with Lubellion is so good and gives you such a good grind game.
i like your list and i thought i was the only player playing dragoons. my reason for playin him is bcuz my opponents always allow my branded fusion to go through and summoning the striking dragon doesnt really stop them, so i added in dragoons to punish ppl for that..dragoons is 1 of the hardest cards to get off the field in my opinion. but i play the light-hex seal jus bcuz i think stopin lubellion hurts more than stoppin albion also if it doesnt get stop i ave an extra monster to used to make guardian chimera then i also get to add in the end phase albion goes to gy so i can branded fusion next turn. thats my reason for the light over the dark
The monster for a fusion substitute does come down to preference for sure I just always open my "bricks" so I figured I would play the Versago because it's a Fiend and sure enough I opened it 2 or 3 times 😅 dragoon is so good vs so many decks! Glad to hear other people are playing it too
Honestly i wouldn't side if they scoop without revealing information game 1. You play enough cards to handle going second. Even if worst case scenario you lose game 2 you have the knowledge of what they play so you can side for game 3.
I tested DPE and kept opening the Hero monsters, so It put me off of it a bit. I really like the idea of it, and if Branded Fusion goes to 1, that is definitely a viable option to pivot too! Prosperity worried me about playing even harder into droll without having access to Crossout or Dragoon before playing it, but I definitely see no wrong in using it 😁
@@emodadYGO played your list tonight at locals. Smaller day 3-0 swiss no top cut. Will try again Friday at case tourney. Only change was skull meister in side instead of evenly matched. Didn't miss pros or DPE. Enjoyed Super poly plus radian combo.
@@Squiddys i too love DPE. Took him to an 8round regional went x-2-2 which sucks cause the deck plays insanely fast. the games I lost, I opened branded/chimera fusion plus fusion destiny, got d-barriered, and had to look at fusion destiny in hand. Additionally, drawing those pieces are annoyingly ass. Last part is I rarely made mirror jade to send alba to fetch destiny fusion or i banished it off prosperity. Also post side Kaiju plus super poly makes gazelle an insane NS.
How frequently did you feel like Ash and Droll just ended your turn? I picked up this deck and I saw some people running Crossout and some people not. And on one hand I'd rather hang myself than play Crossout, but on the other I really don't wanna lose to those two cards exactly.
If you plan on playing a very small 18-20 card engine build you NEED crossout or you will die to 1 handtrap. If you opt for a heavier Branded build with maybe 25+ engine cards then you don't need it because you can typically play past 1 handtrap. However you add a lot more "bricks" like Aluber (which you NEVER want to normal summon), Springans Kitt, Branded in White, ect. Really just preference
You are correct. I did have 1 in the side for the weeks leading up to the tournament but decided to play a 2nd D Barrier over the Shifter. You could absolutely make that swap and I probably would for a larger event
I personally don't like it because going 2nd it doesn't really do much against the Purrely, Kash, or Unchained end boards which are the top 3 decks. When I go over the Side I kind of explai that if I was to main it I would probably main the dark Kaiju as well because it helps turn on the super poly more.
You use Branded Fusion sending Albaz and Versago to make Lubellion you then use Lubellions effect to discard a card and shuffle the Albaz and Versago back into the deck to fusion summon Dragoon. It also helps make your other Branded Fusions live for later on
It is a Fiend so even opening it you can use it for summoning King Chimera! Just less of a brick essentially 😁 I explain it a little bit after I go over the main deck.
The main deck sleeves? They are the small sized crimson matte colored Dragon Shields :) been using the same color for over a year now, really like them.
Very nice list. Keep it up
💪 love the video! Probably one of my top 2 favorite duelist the other is myself
Nice misprints! Clean af
Been an avid misprint collector for a while now! Glad I got to finally play some of my favorites in this deck! 😁
My boy!!! Always putting in that work! Always good to see doing your thing man! Congrats on becoming an Idaho legend 😎

With lubellion you would shuffle back in the albaz and the versago so u still have a body on board since albaz is a dragon effect monster
@@michaelstephens4992 i play 2albaz and recycling lubelion to me is important

Chimera fusion not being once per turn is broken? Have we read dimensional barrier?
