La Nuit de L'Homme is an important weapon in the arsenal till this day. I dont mind people falling for these videos and not buying it. Only helps me out.
I’d respectfully disagree that YSL LNDL isn’t cool anymore. I’ve smelt LNDL only one time ever on another person in public. It might be redundant or boring in a fragrance connoisseur collection, but to the average nose most people haven’t smelt this. They’re mostly familiar with Sauvage or Bleu De Chanel. LNDL could easily be worn on a summer evening even through the winter. The powderiness gives it a mature elegant charm so it could be worn to a job interview . It’s very versatile scent that’s not just reserved for nights
and when you say everyones wearing it i think theres a caveat because theres already a smaller minority of people who wear colognes and of those people most wear like a sauvage or axe or something, idk how many people are really rocking these designer fragrances like ysl ldlh but i think i see what you are saying it is pretty safe and maybe to some people you just smell good and its not very memorable.
@@aw_shucks17 I def agree with the smooth and subtle thing. I got a tester the other day and decided to try it just sitting around about 30 min ago. Smelled great immediately but now that it’s worn in a little…wow. Was looking at some of the other YSL fragrances and one from Hermes but this one may be the next must have for me. It’s not old to me though. I’m just getting into the higher end fragrances :). Gonna try it out on my lady friend next date night haha
I still have a 2012 bottle, very beauty fresh spicy cardamom/vanilla/lavander frag. I will say that never was a powerfull beast mode scent. But was soo smooth and well blended.
Reformulation in LNDH is only in the top notes. 2009 is spicier, 2011 onwards is fresher while in 2016, its well rounded between fresh, spicy and sweet
This is a “must have” for a specific occasion. You can’t really say it’s not for 2021 anymore because it’s not versatile which most of your objections point out to. It’s like me saying D&G light blue intense isn’t good because it’s too fresh for date night, cold weather, or evening wear in general. It’s not for it’s intended use. It’s 10/10 for a hot Hawaii weather. La nuit is tried and tested and it still works great on ladies. If you look at the fragrance for what it is made for, this is 10/10 must have. But if you start looking for other qualities such as day time scent, freshness, strength in the winter, and versatility, it couldn’t deliver all that. It’s old but classic. I bet if they discontinue la nuit, it would be sought after just like the Dior homme.
Good point! I can’t disagree my friend. We should all own it and if you wear it on a date, it should end as a good night ;) I guess my feeling was that we talk about it way too much when we’re already familiar with it and there are many great new releases!
How is the longevity of this fragrance in 2021? I haven’t tried it myself but this is the only factor preventing me from buying it. Btw I like to spray on my clothes so skin chemistry doesn’t matter too much for me
I wouldn’t let longevity stop you from buying this one. It’s at least 6 hours on skin, and if you spray on clothes, it will last all day. Just go with more sprays for more projection.
You want a true fact regarding your question? Let me know you: it is last only 1 hour to my skin! But if you spray in your clothes it will be last for 2 or 3 hours. Disappointing? Yes! But the sad thing is, I love her! 😂
I spray this on my clothes to soften my hard image and pull people in. I shave with my sandalwood shaving cream. Then I use a vetiver fragrance to my wrists and arms. The complexity and interplay of the three together just blows people away and I get so many compliments.
Some iconic fragrance is timeless and classic this has joined the ranks of an icon. Some of us live in tropical climates which makes your comment irrelevant...
As I see the main problem is that La Nuit de L'Homme 2021 is not La Nuit de L'Homme 2009. Too much difference, they just smell like different perfumes. The 2021 version is just like bad copy/replica of 2009. It was reformulated too many times.
In my collection of 110+ fragrances I never let go of colognes, I just put them in back of my many bottles to pull out in the future to admire ,all the expensive fragrances that I have, I'm making today a OLD SPICE day.
To be fair, la nuit is going to be the most mass appealing of everything haha - not a single person will dislike it. And it’s a good starter, don’t let me mislead you. There are people who are turned off by spicebomb extreme including my own girlfriend, but I love it and it’s a must have. Personally I think Luna rossa black is both mass appealing and interesting at the same time. Also more versatile. It’s sexy af.
I totally disagree with this opinion. While it's true that some fragrances don't age well, other fragrances become known as CLASSICS. To me la nuit is like that classic car or movie that you enjoy over and over again because it's a masterpiece. I think the fact that a fragrance is mass appealing CAN sometimes ruin the experience of wearing it because you will not smell unique, but it's great smell is the reason for it's massive popularity. I live in Canada and tonight I just ordered a la nuit de l'homme gift set from a local retailer to replace the bottle i lost in a move. Coincidentally, I'll be ordering le male in the new year because I love it but I've never owned a bottle. Btw I'm 45.
I’m 48, never got into Le Male back in the day. I enjoy it now quite a bit. Classic means classic, period. Wear what you like! And BTW…the “classics” almost become more unique as time passes! That is my mindset anyway, the less people currently wearing it, the more unique it is.
I love la nuit de lhomme. I absolutely love everything about it, but i don’t wear it that much, just because so many people have it. If you’re the same, try Layton by Pafums De Marly. You might say, its also a very well known niche fragrance, but 95% of people dont even know what PDM is. So you’ll smell quite unique + Its lasts way longer and still gives me the warmth and sweetness im looking for. It still has the lavender and cardamom, that gives la nuit de lhomme that cozy vibe with which vanilla also helps. Its fresher, absolutely dont get me wrong because of the apple, but i dont think thats a bad thing. It just makes it more wearable every day.
My first fragrances that I ever purchased it was in 2011. I was choosing between this and l’homme Libre. Looking back I wish I had purchased both. I haven’t had a bottle since 2013. I need a new bottle.
I think it works well in Early spring. Not just fall, its such a shame they watered down such a masterpiece. I still adore this, they didn't butcher it as bad as L'omme I can literally splash cheap apple juice on myself and it performs better. YSL should be ashamed of themselves, I bet the real Yves is rolling over in his grave. He would never allow the current formulations of la nuit and lhomme to have anything to do with his name. I bet exactly what they did was add just enough water to the point it could just barely still be called an edt.
Great videos! I hope you stay in the RUclips game. I think talk of batch variations would really make this video a must watch especially if you had some of the bottles. Good luck to you my friend
You explained it perfectly. Its no longer edgy, way too safe. This was the first bottle I ever finished because woman received it so well. They were under a spell and seemed to be seduced by the fragrance. Its really the reason I'm into fragrances. I hate that I don't have it. If this many ppl are talking about it, its because the reformulation is a big deal. Im tempted to just spend end $200 on a 2010, if I find it that cheap because some guys want $600.
Just buy LNDL Bleu electrique it sacrifices a tad bit of the DNA for performance and I’ve heard ppl say it reminds them of old batches , also u can get a 2oz at Macy’s for cheap during sales
Don’t do it. Not worth it. If you love the DNA bleu electrique (as mentioned above) or the reformulation should be enough. Especially if you have a collection of more than 20 fragrances
💯. I have tons and tons of colognes between samples and regular bottles. This is the only one that I fell in love with so much that I got a new bottle when I ran out. The only way I am giving it up is if it stops being made.

Absolutely Correct. Its a date fragrance and it will rule in that category forever. Very very mass appealing. Ladies love it.

By the way, I don't mind to overspray or reapply.
