Tears keep welling in my eyes as I listen to this compilation and it's not stopping. It's as if I lost my mother 2nd time round. Her sweet and soothing voice which kept billions in trance for so long will not sing anymore. It's unbearable.Those indians born in the late fifties, early sixties are so emotionally attached to her songs that sorrow keeps surfacing.

Few years ago, My grandmother told me that she and lata mangeshkar lived in the same town during childhood. She used to visit her house very often. Lata mangeshkar and her parents shifted to a different town and my grandma never got to meet her again.
