- Amtrak's Southwest Chief makes its nightly stop in La Plata, Missouri on January 7, 2011. The train showed up early and had to sit for a while, and the conductor thought I was the station attendant, and tried to hand me a package. I wish the train had shown up about three minutes earlier, then I could've seen the eastbound freight passing behind it. You should still be able to hear the freight though!
I love Amtrak trains, I'm from Brazil, that trains are awesome! 😄

That freight train that passed towards the beginning of the video sounded like it was really moving!
While my son was dispatching for the local sheriffs office in SW Kansas (town of about 2,200 population), the SW Chief had to stop at the Main St crossing and transfer a passenger to an ambulance to go to the local hospital.

7 minutes? That's not long. We saw the #3 sit at the Flagstaff station for over 14 minutes the other night. ;)
