MOLTO BRAVI TUTTI.BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
who on earth can dislike this? wtf is wrong with people? I have watched many interpretations and attempts from professionals and pre pro, no one does it better than Russians and beautiful Evgenia!
There are 2 major problems with this performance - 1. the tacky 8-member corps de ballet is a total distraction from the principal dancers, and to make matters worse, the choreography for the corps is awful....for instance, why are the men pretending to play their prop mandolins to a violin solo? 2. the tempo in this performance is a perfect example of the Russian's very bad habit of performing to musically incorrect, abysmally slow tempo, a habit that unfortunately has spread to the rest of the world. Interestingly, Petipa's choreography for the famous variation for the ballerina @ 5:54 has survived virtually unchanged ever since he created this pas de deux for the Italian ballerina Amalia Ferraris in 1857. Although modern-day ballerinas perform this variation with the choreography intact, they nevertheless significantly slow the music down by over a fourth. I encourage everyone to watch the adagio and female variation with the video speed taken up to 1.25x to see the choreography and hear the music as they are supposed to be performed. The entrée, male variation and coda are also supposed to be performed at a quicker pace, but 1.25x speed is a little to fast!
I think that Obraztsova has a problem with the sync with the music. Her movements, especially in her variation (the turns during the flute melody, 6:53) and the coda (the entree, 8:57), overtake the music with one or even more beats. I have seen many interpretations of this pas and the problem is present only in the interpretations of Evgenia. I have found three of her recordings in RUclips and all of them have the same problem. Even at first I thought that the audio and video were not well synchronized, but Lopatin's movements are completely in sync with the music beats. I ask those who understand more to comment. For comparison, please watch this: ruclips.net/video/ryTWgWDHs9o/видео.html (6:54 and 9:04).
Watched it. Evgenia appeared steadier on pointe. There looked like a couple of dicey lifts by Lopatin. The tempo of music of the other seemed slightly slower. Of course, I am neither a dancer nor an expert on dance. 😉
Whose idea was it to add that tacky, distracting corps de ballet? 🤮 Also, the tempo is entirely to slow, particularly for the adage and female variation. I encourage everyone to watch the adage and female variation @ 1.25x speed to hear the music and see the choreography as its proper speed.
Тот самый случай, когда я безмерно горжусь нашим русским балетом - we are the best!)

Nothing compared to Shakirova in this dance!

Will you post Grand Pas Classique with Tereshkina and Askerov? Please??
