Just to comment on widths of layouts, for setrack at 9 inch radius you need 18 inches for a half circle plus the width of a track so 19 inches plus some overhang say 20 inches. For the wretched Heljans (even the Baldwin) you need 24 inches plus about 3 so I would suggest 28 inches, any less is a bit tight.
Beware - the Peco set track design manual is wrong, on the Woody Bay plan it suggests that the Heljan Manning Wardle tanks will negotiate the 9 inch setrack curves - not even close! these horrendous locos will just manage Peco R3 N track which is 300 mm radius whilst the advice on the loco box states 12 inch radius which is of course 305mm. Also the delightful Woody Bay stations sold out quickly and I failed to get one, I did bid on one on ebay and it sold for over £100.
I've done some counting by my Llangollen Railway Timetable. Judging by it, Platform 1 should be up and running again by either July or August. So that means the shop will be open to everyone again by that time too. Everything else should be back to normal by then as well. I know it's a bit of a long time to wait, but better to be safe than sorry. As long as we're all in good health, all we'll get should the virus get us is nothing more than a bad cold. Don't worry folks, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, The inside might be as black as the night, But at the end of the tunnel, there's a light. Soon the pistons will be pumping, Platform 1 will get a second coming. We see that distant gleam That tells us it's steam. At the end of the tunnel, there's a light: Hatton's Light. Hope the song will cheer everyone up.
@@RoadsterRyan23 As I'm so far away, I can't go there every week. However, I visited the shop for the first time last year. I bought two model engines (Dinmore Manor and Standard 4 Tank Engine 80104) and the Santa's Express Train Set. I do want to visit again, so maybe nearer to Christmas this year, my second visit might be on the cards. Would you like to visit my RUclips Channel Kelly Ashford Trains, in the meantime? Most of my videos are model railway related, and there are some real railway ones too. Something to make you happy, I hope.
@@kellyashfordtrains2642 hi Kelly , yes you should visit sometime. Would love to meet up. Of course I'll check your channel out , especially with model railways. Would you like to check out my channel to? You'll find railway stuff on my channel also. I'm always watching Sam's Trains mostly on YT. You always give super chats.
Any 12v DC controller suitable for HO/OO/N will do the job. A good one is the Gaugemaster Combi, cheap, simple and efficient. For DCC, any system suitable for HO/OO/N is also compatible.
