"What could possibly go wrong?" Hmmm, how long have you been involved with this misadventure? O'Murphy's Law (Old Irish Proverb): When things go wrong they do so with panache!
I had a job in Eve, I just wasn't paid much... I was in 2 of the biggest alliance's in the games history working in the logistics and compensation department. Lots and lots of spreadsheets online.
During the video/stream, you had a comment about not going full on scavenger on the run. I seem to recall that the mods have a somewhat reduced productivity when refining iron and such. As such, there might be some logic in taking the time to scrap that wreck where you got the survival kit, as the refined components could be more valuable than the raw ore.
Splitsie, for the trailer, recommend replacing the center armor block at the bottom front, where the small conveyor line used to extend (right under the "gooseneck" of 3x3 conveyors), with a small connector. This will give direct ground-floor access to the trailer cargo, so you don't have to jump on the wheels to access the side ports of the cargo containers. I've started adding small connectors at strategic points on many of my small grid builds specifically for that purpose, easy external cargo access without having to have an exposed cargo container.
The method to attach a small grid small hinge part on a large hinge part that still works is to attach a small grid large part from the menu, build a grid from it with a landing gear that locks to the rest of the hinge, grind down the small grid large part and replace it with a small grid small part. This works because the grid is perfectly aligned to the original hinge part.
from playing the game in thoeru the ejectors would work faster then the connector as the cargo unly unloads when item is needed even with a sorter block the ejector is emptying right away
On the 3 by 1 slopes that you talk about at 3:19:58: Driving down 3:1 slopes wouldn't actually be much less terrifying than on 2:1 slopes. It would probably make more sense to make 4:1 sloped blocks that are 2 blocks long (the same as the "ramp" blocks are now). Then they would connect smoothly with half blocks. (Or 6:1 sloped blocks that are 3 blocks long.) edit: 3:1 slopes wouldn't even match the angle that your Tonktimus is on at 4:20:00, and even 4:1 slopes would seem to be just short of reaching that angle. So yeah, for driving on, 6-by-1's would probably make most sense.
@@Le_Corsaire1291 I'm pretty sure the problem is the steepness of the slope, not the abruptness with which it starts. Rounded blocks would only help in very limited situations; when the block is already embedded into the ground so much that only the flattest part of the curve sticks out.
@@Le_Corsaire1291 There are mods that have curves similar to that as well. Honestly, I usually don't bother, and just use the 1x2 through 1x6 slopes to make my own gradually changing slopes for smoother ramps. Downside is that those require more space both vertically and horizontally. I'd kill for a slope that was more akin to to an arctan graph.
RE the tool, it always annoyed me that even the T2 tools required the advanced stuff. It felt like to me that only the T3 ones should. And to be honest, even T3 I'm not sure need it, since they still require rare ores, and since ores are distributed by planet in AaW, that still forces you to move around to get them (or find rare stuff to salvage for it).
I wonder if it could be possible to mod into the game an item that, when placed in the player's inventory, grants them damage reduction from incoming projectiles.
I don't believe the Event Controller has a "seat occupied" condition, though it's been a while since I looked for one. But you could definitely do it with a sensor placed above the cockpit seat (or right behind it or similar), where it raises the ramp when it detects a character within the space occupied by the cockpit, and lowers it when it doesn't detect a player there.
@Shadow Did you ever play NFS Underground 2? They had for navigation a projected arrow. For navigating Splitsie you could use a projector and turn the way ;)
"Do I want a ramp to drive onto the trailer or a crane to pick you up onto the trailer?" The correct answer is some way to force Shadow to jump onto the trailer.
oooow i loved the ball turrets... never trusted myselfe to realy stard SE even though i own it since pretty much alpha or what the earliest was... i just don t have the thousends of hours that creative games need^^
I can see Shadow in a combat monowheel. ^^ How about a connecting nose for small rovers? Edit: How to torture Splitsie? Making Capac do ba ba ba in a funtime melody. ;P Edit 2 : Shadow naming her second drone Jimmy, I now have that M.I.A.-Song stuck in my head. Don't get me wrong, it's good. I just catch myself going lala lalala. ^^ Edit 3: Remember kids! Always rely on your Cool Rock Assisted Stopping Helper. ( I am joking, always obey rules of traffic in your country and drive safely.)
The reason the rover has unbreathable armosphere is because the grid bounding box "saves" and keeps the air from a time when it was unbreathable outside. It works the other way around, too. I had that happen both ways on a No-Suit survival. I would fix it by reloading the world I don't recall it happening without the No Suit mod, but I may be misremembering, or just haven't come across it, since I mostly played with weather and on planets with air that can become unbreathable from weather** when using No Suit ** Other than Pertam, but I usually put my base on an oasis or on magnesium salt flats which are too low for that, and usually don't play with weather, because it's annoying and provides no actual challenge without No Suit.
Always fun to watch splitsie rebuild a vehicle and waiting to see if he cuts it in half
lol :D

I LOVE the Minecraft Bee drone!

Oh you're right, I'd completely forgotten about that

Mantids can also recognize faces and make great pets, just like jumping spiders. I've had 2
The cab cockpit has a top hatch, which makes it perfect for a tank.
This is definitely a case of the tail wagging the dog!
When Shadow stops for the unknown signal and completely ignores the craters from their last visit to this particular patch of sand.
I still think the hitch for the goose-neck is too far forward; there's a lot of tractor bed for the neck-bit to get snapped in half by.

Ah nice one, that's a good method 🙂

That's reasonable, would be good to have something that can interface with the existing blocks so a 1:4 would work
There are a number of mods that add 3:1 through 6:1 ramps and slopes. I've used them for builds, and they are definitely easier to drive on.
A good solution would be to have the existing 2x1 slopes with a radius instead the sharp edge...

thought about this near the end "Smokey and the Demon"
play on the Smokey and the Bandit series of the 80's
Hahaha Funny hearing about Eve, I've been clean of Eve for quite some time now on the two accounts I had.
It's nearly at 10 years for me 😂

make a Weekend Warrior style trailer. Have the "housing" and covered carry for a Quad (scout bike)
I wonder if it could be possible to mod into the game an item that, when placed in the player's inventory, grants them damage reduction from incoming projectiles.
is there a way to have an event controller to detect when you are in your truck seat and have it automagically do the ramp for you?

Ohhhhh - this is earlier than expected.
doing so wel ,ha ha. the road to get there was a disaster lol.

I can see why you go by Flipsie :D Good landing though.
lol :D
your 5th wheel hitch is to far forwed on the truck it should be about middle of the back 2 axles this way you should get more tilt clearence
Love what y'all do
this is like watching Stripes, but in space!

2:38:15 Question: Is a Raillgun without ammo and De-Turret?
Don't worry, I see myself out.
As the marines say "If it's stupid and it works, it isn't stupid"
Bearing in mind, M.A.R.I.N.E = Muscles Are Required, Intelligence Not Essential. :)
Randomly gates are also immune to thruster damage
That one at least makes some sense
Just watching ya drive reminds me of mad max or like some action movies
You guys should build a mobile base instead so you guys can go to we’re you need to go and be able to bring everything with you

correct, someone is annoyed about that, also befuddled as to why
Woohoo new video. Side note weird flicker at beginning of video
I'm not sure if it's this but capac's flaming exhaust on the roof makes for flickering lighting inside the base
1:11:07
Me: What the H you just did?
Splitsie: That's gonna annoy someone later.
Me: Later?!
Lol 😂
I can see Shadow in a combat monowheel. ^^
How about a connecting nose for small rovers?
Edit:
How to torture Splitsie?
Making Capac do ba ba ba in a funtime melody. ;P
Edit 2 :
Shadow naming her second drone Jimmy, I now have that M.I.A.-Song stuck in my head.
Don't get me wrong, it's good.
I just catch myself going lala lalala. ^^

Oh yeah, it fell the right way for that 🤔

Shadow's Budgies are very vocalthis stream
60k Iron Ore? might last Capac 20 minutes.
Ah yes, splitsie finally discovering that the rotor had flipped 270 so when he set his limits it became upside down. So very much expected.
Oh, I noticed that when he built it, but didn't connect it to the later incident.
is there a mod list for this by chance?
It's just the Ares at War scenario and the no suit engineer :)
We need more subgrids..
what happened to the scrap yard mod?
It's published on the workshop for anyone to play with, has been for months now. I'm not sure what you mean?
@@Flipsie in the last livestream you did was testing the space spawns it have been like 1 moth with no updates to the mod
It's definitely not 'soll-der', any more than you would say 'kill-n' or 'kuh-night'
You're definitely wrong and 'sodder' is a minor regional variant
Capac sounds weird... is he okay?
He's got the pax pox so now he's capox. Good old airport sickness.
