He still blows me away after all these years and somehow he was even better live! Such a tragic loss of an amazing musician…

Nothing can compare with Jeff’s music. So perfect in every single detail. Miss him so much.

Another one of my favorites. It is so sad that we didn’t get to see how he would progress and what he would put out as he got older. Loved your reaction to this super talented man.

His vocal runs give me chills every time I watch this video.
I wish that I could have seen him live. That's probably one of my biggest regrets in my life.

HIs Father Tim was great also. He reminds me of Nick Drake songwriter and musician for the UK back in the 70's.

One last thing, I completely agree with what you said about Jeff's voice control. To me what Jeff was to vocals is what Jimi Hendrix was to guitar, if that makes sense. Just completely unfiltered, could produce any sound he wanted to, from pristinely academic to just goofy stuff, but always beatiful. And like Hendrix never had formal training for guitar, Jeff never trained for vocals. It almost kind of makes sense, hearing just how free and unique they both were in their music

Grace came out in the high of grunge. It seemed no one was sure how to market him. He should of been bigger but his legacy just continues to grow. We lost a massive talent.

Oh yeah I was 15 and when I got Grace and NIN A Downward Spiral at the same time from those get 6 CDs for a penny. Opposite album but so detrimental in my youth.

There is another live performance of this song at Glastonbury 1995, it's just as good.

If you haven't heard his unreleased song What Will You Say from the same concert - I really think you should, the writing is phenomenal and it's the most incredible vocal performance I've seen/heard in my life and I'm not saying this lightly, having been a fan of music all my life

And yeah, just like you said, when I first heard the album I thought, oh yeah, this is really good, I wonder how this sounded live. And when I heard his live performances I couldn't believe it was even better than the record, hell, that it was real altogether, it's still hard to believe. After many listens, I still get teary eyed when listening to Jeff and I'm a 35 y.o. man who loves bands like Napalm Death )

Great reaction! I enjoy your insights on his vocals. I love how the other the bassist and the rhythm guitarist are basically facing Jeff instead of the audience because they know Jeff will take the songs in totally unexpected directions so they gotta be eagle eyed on him.
I think you’d love another song by him called ‘What Will You Say?’ live in Glastonbury. It’s absolutely sick. Here’s a link to watch/listen (even if you don’t film a reaction). Keep up the awesome work!

@@SoreEater I’ve been a fan since Grace and I hadn’t heard it til a couple years ago. It got me too- the pain, ffs. I hope they react to it and I’m glad you recommended it as well!

One of my favorite things about those Glastonbury live videos is seeing the 70000 crowd being dead silent even during the quiet parts, in complete awe with a "What the fuck, is this actually real?" look on their faces
I think Robert Plant described it best talking about hearing Jeff Buckley live - as "mind-altering". I would give literary anything to go back in time to one of Jeff's shows

@@dignan4yeah, I first heard Grace a couple of years ago, it's amazing how the more you listen to it, the better it gets as you hear more and more nuance and just great vocal tones. And after finding Jeff's live videos I can't stop thinking about how 100% perfect his singing was, all the crazy runs, where he would go somewhere where you think "no way he pulls it off" and it's just perfect, it's kind of unnatural almost. Talking about unnatural, what the hell is that Christmas Carol cover, right??
And yeah, I haven't found one reaction video to What Will You Say and it moved me so much I almost recorded my own, heh. But I'm the farthest thing from a RUclipsr and I would just cry throughout the whole video haha
