I gotta say, I have such high respect for you and Oliver. You both handle yourselves with such class and honor. These are just some of the reasons why I and many others are such fans of you both. Oliver is the reason why I started to get into MMA, I finally had someone to root for and a reason to watch as well as start training into it myself. Oliver seems like such a humble person. I am greatly looking forward to him getting back into the octagon and showing everyone what he can do. He has the talent, he just needed the experiance and I think he will be capable of such great things in the future. I've said it numerous times, I will always watch his fights and be cheering for him from Canada. My wife and I made some food and drank some beers while cheering for him during his fight. I look forward to following you both into the future, you both display the Bushido and inspire many others including myself. I hope one day I will be able to go to a seminar and maybe one day be able to go to your country and train with both of you at some point.
KATA in the waiting room, Love it! Way to go Oliver. The octagon is no joke. I have done a few regional level cage fights in the USA(feel free to Google my name) and to make it to the UFC is so hard. Anyone can win or lose on any given day in the cage. Keep working hard Oliver you have the qualities of a true champ.
Despite the fact that Oliver didn't win the fight, as a fan of your videos, and a fan of the UFC, this was probably my favourite video of yours so far. Loved the 'Win or Learn' aspect to it.
Oliver, you have the right spirit, so don't loose it. I'm glad to hear you "tommorrow I will train" and "more, more, more fights". You are a martial artist, not a fighter in the meaning of what you've said in the interview in your hotel room. I have a beautifull Japanese saying for you: GO DOWN ZEVEN TIMES, BUT STAND UP EIGHT.
Oliver, I love your heart. This is my first time learning who you are. You were a winner before ever stepping into the octagon. Your meek and humble spirit is more valuable than any score. As for sports, no teacher like experience. I look forward to watching your progress.
Humble perhaps, in the best sense of the word, but definitely not meek. I had 10 amateur boxing matches in my late teens, winning 6 and 12 full contact WTF TKD fights in my mid 30,s winning 5 and losing to younger and faster opponents 7 times. I only entered the TKD fights as I had received a Dan grading at the time and was expected to teach the sports side of TKD as well and did not feel I could teach a part of the art I had not tried myself! It takes bravery to enter the ring and fight as I believe all fighters feel an amount of fear when first entering the ring for any fight, the point is to overcome that fear!
This is a great piece of video art. The Enkamps embody that humble, thoughtful spirit of the martial arts, using their journey through combat sports to grow an understanding of life. Their videos deliver not only knowledge of techniques, moves and training but also knowledge of how warrior training impacts life off the mat. They both have a very, very long and successful career ahead of them as students and teachers, and we are lucky to have them in the martial arts community.
One of the best videos that I've seen on RUclips so far. Thanks for documenting the process for us Karate and MMA fans, I'm definitely a fan of you and your brother Oliver. Just a few thoughts in my mind: 1. Danny Roberts is from England, and this fight was taken place in London, so definitely he was feeling much more comfortable fighting in his homeland; 2. Beside that this guy has much more fight (winning) records in his book, and he has been fighting in UFC longer than Oliver as well. What I am trying to say is that Oliver isn't bad at all, but Danny is a veteran and he posts serious threats to many fighters. 3. Think about this: UFC wanted to promote their organization in England with this Fight Night, hence they would match-up a much more experienced UK fighter (Danny in this case) with a relatively new foreign fighter in the organization (like Oliver from Sweden) in order to increase the winning odds of the UK fighter. This is an unfair setup. I'd say please choose your opponent more carefully next time, a losing streak is unhealthy for the fighter's psychology as well as their career build in the organization. Oliver can beat Danny one day definitely.
Even Goku's lost a couple fights ;) You'll come away from the experience with lessons learned, respect earned, and the love of friends and family around you. Not too bad, right? All the best from Los Angeles!
Dmacc I definitely have watched it for a long time accusations like that get me upset but anyway Jiren also could beat goku, goku only won because he had the energy of the genki dama
Malachi Moore Goku Will Do Any And Everything To Get To The Next Level not only iv not only read the manga but know the anime by heart and u honestly think goku would loose and stay down Technical Vegeta Perfect Cell /reverted captain ginyu
'You have not failed until you quit trying.' Good luck in the next fight Oliver. Great stuff Jesse. I have my 2nd Dan in Karate approaching and your videos are a real inspiration.
Major respect for you getting into the Octagon, Oliver. MMA is a tough sport and only the best make it to the UFC. So the fact that you are in the league means that you've earned your spot. Sounds like you've learned a lot from this fight and I'm looking forward to seeing you back again in the Octagon!
Thank you for this video. I am training to be a cage fighter out of california. This video goes through beginning to end of going to a fight without unnecessary drama and advertising. Dealing with a big business like the ufc is more of a mistery and makes me more nervous than the fight itself. Good vid 👍.
You both rock. Never stop, never surrender reaching for the greatness in whatever makes you learn, grow, and be happy. And your attitud, Oliver... Is inspiring.
Perhaps that oblique kick came a little bit too often. Therefore I believe that Roberts was able to read it and was already preparing to counter it when he gets the chance. The downside to this kick seems to be the somewhat compromised position one ends up in that's hard to retreat from. Anyways, I'm confident that Oliver will bounce back from this experience and that we'll be seeing more of his great talent in MMA. Best of luck!
massive massive respect for Oliver for being so humble 🙏 I really look forward to see how Oliver improves in the future. I will be supporting him throughout his whole career 🙌
Oliver has so much potential! He's got great footwork, and if he works on his head movement a bit to match that this boy is gonna be troubleeee!! Much respect for you both, stay the path and never give up, guys!
It takes a lot of humility in this post..true martial artists. Keep at it ! Heal up well and back to training Best wishes for you're future fights sir.
There is no shame in showing up and getting defeated. But there is no honour in not showing up at all. Defeat is only a state of mind, u only learn from your failure. And he fought with honour . And I respect him a lot. All the best for the future Oliver sir. Loved this video.❤
This year I've been in the Martial arts for 51 years. The only member of my family to study karate. You are so blessed to have all of that Budo in one family.👍
Amazing and useful video! Come on Oliver, stay positive and remember that from all the losses you can always learn something, as you have just demonstrated in this video. Nice job
I don't really have anything to say that you haven't heard already But still Everyone looses a few of the first fights just keep fighting you'll be a big star
We had a house full of friends from our Dojo, including our Sensei who uses your videos to help us train, watching this fight pulling for Oliver. While it didn't have the outcome we wanted, may we all learn from our roadblocks the way you did, Oliver. Thank you for sharing this experience, stay humble and we'll keep rooting for you.
Man! That timing was just such a shame... Oliver’s the only one I support for real in the UFC and I’m sure he’ll be back with a win streak after this. His skills, work ethic and confidence will make sure of that 👊 Keep the good vibes up bro!
Wow such honor even when he lost know all I want to see him win he wins. No more brother you got my vote! Jesse that for all the awesome videos just like one and all the other you have done.
Total respect. Very very very difficult to come clean and own up after a loss like that. Especially to analyze what you did wrong. Though from Oliver's description it sounds more like the same kind of KO shot that took down Pacman (i.e both were closing to deliver their own shots and pretty much walked into the opponent's fist).
A big congratulations just to get to the UFC and fight, your time will come, everything is a learning circle, good luck to your future and hope to you soon in the UK again. Osu.
Loosing is the piller to success & there is no doubt that Oliver is heading towards greater win. I much appreciate the way u support him & keep him motivated . A lot of love to both of u 💞 - Benazir , from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 *** Hey, it would be great if Oliver could also introduce his own channel for MMA. What say?
If you never lose a fight, or never struggle in a fight, you are fighting the wrong people. Oliver, whatever happens in the ring is unpredictable, but the training and preparation you did for that fight shows your true spirit burns bright and being motivated by any hardships along the way shows you hold the value of a true martial artist. OSU!
Thank you for the video! There is much to learn from defeat, and it sounds like you are. Jesse and Oliver (& Mom) you have an amazing dynamic, and it is obvious how much your family loves, it is inspirational. I hope to one day meet you all at a training camp, thank you again and God Bless.
Props to your brother, man.. Win or lose, I respect any man that is willing to do what 99.9% of men in society will NOT, and that is to step in that cage!
Great video Jesse san. I love the nutritional content. Just perfect. Oliver, you did a great job. Keep it up you haven't even started yet. You get the full support from me and the Blade Martial Arts Academy. Well done. Your family and fans are proud. Osu!
Great video! Really cool to see the behind the scenes of this! I've noticed that experienced martial artists evolve and adapt so much faster then a "fighter" who only trains to fight does, so I have no doubt next time will go much much better!
I got knocked out in a similar exchange in my second pro fight, sometimes violence is unpredictable and it just isn't your night. Good luck Oliver so much respect for you and I look forward to your next fight!
Watched you in Dublin in your Bellator Card (great win) and I gotta say that this is absolutely inspiring. Great attitude to learn from that fight (against Roberts) Keep up the good work.
Gonna be following Oliver closely. I also grew up doing karate so I always love to see karate fighters in mma. Imo they take a while to really grove into mma but can suddenly become top tier fighters. It's alot easier for karate fighters to learn mma techniques, especially defensively...but it's the opposite for every other discipline to counter the karate style since there are so few karate guys. Looking forward to seeing Oliver become the next Wonderboy
If you watch the replay you can see how he setup the left as a response to the leg kick. He did it early on and as Oliver continued to use the kick he waited and timed the counter. No judgment, just not sure if your team caught that. Good luck in your future fights!
Thanks for the thumbs up Jesse, I love that your bro is using his karate as a foundation for his MMA. Love the channel and your content, it really helps me work on some of the finer points of my own practice. Showing some love from Indianapolis, In. Keep the great content flowing!!
Excellent spirit and good approach. Only thing that you should have learned is keep your hands up! Watch the fight and watch how often you have your hands down. Every time you finish an attack sequence your hands and guard drop and you reset. You should be proud of your fight and you are nothing so high class and honorable. Well done. I just highly recommend you keep your guard up.
Tough loss brother, I agree with your point about pressuring him more. You did that in your first UFC fight, and it helped keep your opponent honest. All that aside, don't let it get you down. Morio Higaonna once said, "Win or lose, it's all training." Learn what you can about yourself from this fight, and just move forward.
17:27 perfect counter punch. 9wins-2loses Oliver still has a long way to go his record is impressive, losing and learning from the lost makes you better as the old saying goes.
I am a white belter today in karate and my style is shito ryu and i am enjoying myself and atleast now i know how to protect myself Even though my life was like daniel larusso the karate kid Thats why i fight and learn karate with all my heart
Go for that killer instinct, Oliver! You have a strong mind and a solid heart, they won't let you down while in the octagon. Next time use them to focus that aggression and walk out victorious. Enormous respect for both of you guys: deep bow from Chile.

Exactly. Feel so much the same. Much respect for these men. And their mom ! She raised great human beings.

Very brave. You have the most important thing of a warrior. Humble and a great family support. Congratulations because every fall is a victory.
You guys inspired me to start mma, I just wanted to say thanks for everything and I’m a very big fan of your content!

No problem Oliver. You are a Champ. All the best for next fight. I think you need to have couple of MMA fighters for your regular training. 👍
You da man, Oliver! Outcome aside, I feel very inspired.
Also, this was beautifully shot and edited, Jesse.
Much appreciated 🙌

Fighting a mma veteran on a short notice. I think this was an unfair setup. But great learning experience at the end. An inspiration.
