Like Ice Ice Baby, this song is good because it is built on top of the beat from an all time classic Super Freak by Rick James. You got to show the original some love.
@@spigette Only after Rick James filed a lawsuit. Not unlike Vanilla Ice Exactly like Vanilla Ice. I remember my mustard MC Hammer pants and my biker shorts with the pink sides. I was a teenage girl back then but I’ve never seen any guy wearing those pants or shorts.

Back when music was just "fun"! We'd dance all night.."Party till we sweat" was our Anthem. We sure did a lot of that. I miss those days..all we had was fun without attitudes.

I'm a fat, 58 year old white dude and I remember when this came out. It was awesome! MC Hammer's energy was contagious. Awesome guy, I would have loved to see him still killing it today!
"If you can't have fun with this..." EXACTLY, Shon!! You nailed it. That's why we older types love to see younger folks discover the music that has so many memories for us. Too much hate and bullshit in the world right now ... let's groove and enjoy this great music together! Great job on the reactions!
This whole CD was great. He had a great message during this time. Turn This Mutha Out was the first release and Let's Get It Started was good on that same CD, Pumps in Bump was a kill, Pray and Have You Seen Her were my favorite chill songs.
One of my favorite childhood memories was trying to dance like Hammer with my brother in the Genie pants our Moms had made for us. I would say "Have you seen her" would be a great song to react too.
I remember when this song came out (I was 19 years old), everyone wanted to dance like MC Hammer. It was a great success that has not gone out of style!
This video started the balloon pants craze. My oldest son was in 6th grade and wanted a pair of those pants. They weren't available yet so my wife sewed him a pair. He was the coolest kid in class for a while.
Dam, forty years. Parachute pants and fly girls. I'm feeling SO OLD right now. 😂 ETA: Oh yes, people really dressed like that. Just like now, the famous set the trends. 80's fashion looks really extreme now, with its bright, bright colors and geometric structures. I miss those fashions, myself. They were so much fun, and so expressive.
Bro, the 80's & 90's were the best time of my life. Please keep digging deeper into the music & movies you will not regret it. This song came out when i was in the 8th grade. Yeah, i know i am an old man but, it's good to see Gen Z starting to finally wake up & hear & see what y'all have been missing out on. ✌
We had soooooo much fun with this artist. And so many others. All the music back in the day made us happy, fall in love, dance till we couldn't breath. We all still know the words to songs all the way back to the 50's. I love it that so many of you these days are getting to experience our world. You couldn't help but have peace and love and well wishes for EVERYONE!
Congrats Shon. I can’t imagine not having grown up to this music. This was amazing back in the day. I loved growing up in the 80s and 90s. I was out of High School by 1993, so, I was deep into this music. We need some 2 Legit to quit!
Yo you have me on a roller coaster right now LOL just watched your Vanilla Ice reaction and then saw this! Vibing HARD!! ❤❤❤ makes me want to go out and get another pair of boxers that say can't touch this on the back because that's what I had when this song came out😂😂😂 ( and yes I owned several pair of parachute pants when I was in school) lmao
Great reaction. Back in the day I went to see him at Wembley stadium. He was great. The whole show was exhausting and fun but I only remember this main song. He really did entertain us though. 😁👍🏾
At house parties, my best friend and I will blast this song and break out in dance! We don’t miss a beat! Of course we’re 53 and have to take a nap afterwards! Good times! Goin’ clubbin’ in the 90’s!!
Such a wonderful reaction. Pray and Help The Children should be really high considerations for reactions as well. I'm a "Country" boy but I really like all of the above mentioned songs :)
This was super huge at it time and yes people actually wore those baggy pants back then. MC Hammer was and is still an icon to music total respect 🇵🇷🇵🇷PR
Oh, the Brother had MANY other tracks and his videos were epic as he continued in his career. You would hear that Hammer was dropping another video and everyone made sure they were there to watch it. I think the video for 2 Legit 2 Quit was around 10 to 12 minutes long. The Addams Family Groove was a kick to watch!
Ive been two just two concerts in my 43 years of life. One was to MC Hammer in 1991 in Hershey, PA. Met him backstage. His crew put on a hell of a show. Vanilla Ice was the opening act. It was before anyone knew who he was yet.

Love the joy all over your face. MC Hammer was soooo good. He made an absolute fortune with song, and then sent it all on naughty substances. But what joy he gave us all.
You are fast becoming my favorite RUclips reactioner. I suggest Bell Biv devoe's "poison". You will absolutely love it. If you stick to doing music videos that we, the older Generations, enjoyed, your channel will blow up because your personality is so great.
At the 40th American Music Awards in November 2012, Hammer danced to a mashup of "Gangnam Style" and "2 Legit 2 Quit" along with South Korean pop star Psy, both wearing his signature Hammer pants. The collaboration was released on iTunes. The performance idea with Hammer came from Psy's management. They both performed it together again during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on December 31, 2012. (Wikipedia)
Brings back so many memories, yeah those pants showed up everywhere (yes I wore them too, damned comfortable if you ask me!) Other songs, I noticed mentioned in the comments and I totally agree, *2 LEGIT 2 QUIT* there is the shorter version, which is okay, but you were talking about being on a quest to be cultured, I would recommend reacting to the long version because that one has James Brown in it, and well I might get flack for saying this, but if you are a fan of R&B and soul, but don't know who James Brown is, then maybe Hammer's long version of that song is just what the doctor ordered.
Like 5 years ago there was a series of TV commercials with a person hammering and you hear "stop hammer time!" then MC Hammer pops out of a weird place like a tool box and suggests using Command strips instead. They're on RUclips.
I love mc hammer,,especially this video…I can’t imagine anyone not getting pumped up when watching it ☺️…on a sadder note, no one should forget that MC was sued by Rick James for using the beat from Super Freak in his can’t touch this song,,,,at least they were able to settle later…🤔
I'm late to the party, but I just recently found your channel and have been watching several of your videos. I enjoyed this reaction, and yes, this is definitely feel good music. This was back when people used to actually really dance at the clubs or at house parties, men and women alike, asymmetric haircuts with lines in the sides of heads and eyebrows, matching tracksuits and windbreakers, some even coming up with routines to dance together. This was back when people went out to have fun and dance instead of standing around trying to look cool/cute and waiting for something to pop off. Battles were held on the dance floor more than the streets. People in their Mustang 5.0's, Volkswagen bugs and BMW 3.25i's---all with appropriate rims and sound systems of course--- would be out in the summer bumping hits like this along with LL Cool J, Digital Underground (gotta check out The Humpty Dance from them lol) and other classics. It truly was fun to go out instead of worrying if you'd have to wear something to run in or if you'd make it to your car without being harassed. And yes, people really did wear those big pants, they made whole matching outfits with them, and I had two of them lol! Wore one to a school dance and got compliments all night; a friend's mom said she was gonna borrow it to wear out with her girlfriends one night lol! Thank you for your reaction and for being so open to other/older styles of music. There is so much for you to enjoy, and I look forward to seeing you continue to have fun! Subscribed and liked! 😊
Love how you focus on the dance moves and footwork. I don't think MC gets his due credit for the crazy amount of dancing talent he had. And, yes, people did used to wear those baggy saggy pants. However when he wore them they were forever forward known as Hammer Pants.
Because of work I heard this song a minimum of 8 times a day for more than a year straight. Yet, it still makes me so happy and toe tapping everytime I hear it.
Everyone loved this song, there were so many Dance Clubs in Detroit and the Suburbs. And we partied together. We had Motown, and we would go to the Motown reviews at the Fox Theater. I saw Stevie Wonder on stage when he was 12 years old.
Did we wear those parachute pants in high school? Hell yeah we did! We did the same dance after football games on Friday nights at our dances. They’d play this & Ice Ice Baby among other popular 90s greats. But yup we sure did wear parachute pants!😂
If you liked this, you'll definitely ❥ (if u haven't already heard) ➠ Sir-Mix-alot's ICONIC song from the same era: 🍑 BABY GOT BACK! 🍑 Now THAT one was a club banger that they even played at every single one of our middle school dances! Lol.
It was so much fun clubbing in this era. So much fun!! And yes, guys wore those pants. Just in clubs though. Rev Hammer was one of the more generous people in the business, and never forgot where he came from, sadly. He had a fairly large posse of people he knew personally, and paid them to be there. He ended up having to declare bankruptcy. But he never stopped looking forward. Good man.
Yeah it was really in... in my country high schools use uniforms... and back in 90-93 all kids had their yearly uniform pants tailored like MC Hammer... we all were rocking parachuting pants and EVERY SINGLE mother hated that... good ol' times!
I love MC & when this video came out &it was a big big hit ! As soon as you hear the music you know what’s coming & if your not moving then something’s wrong with you 🤣❤️🔥✨💥 What time is it - it’s Hammertime 🔨🔨🔨🔨💎
Great job reacting to the video, back in the day as you would say those pants wear known as "parachute pants" big in the 80's& 90's he had another hit i liked was "pumps in the bumps"good luck getting to the cookout.
😂 over here in the UK, a lot of people were wearing the Aladdin pants like him, girls and boys all the same and it was very popular in the clubs. Even tho I am nearly 60 I love this music, I also loved his song pray was another good one. Great reaction, and video thanks 🖤😎👍
we did, i was a little kid and i was so excited cause i was first in my class to have Hammer pants. he was huge, i had the special edition McHammer Barbie Doll that came with a boombox that played, there was a regular one too but it didn’t come with the extra outfit and music lol and he does have more hits, “2 Legit 2 Quit”, “Pray”, “Have You Seen Her”, “Pumps and a Bump”, and he did a song for the Addams Family movie that came out. this was a fun reaction to watch.
I grew up in the same town as MCHammer when he had his mansion. He got his car fixed next to the dance studio I went to as a kid. He used to stop in there. I always tried to Hammer Dance
I was 20 years old when this song came out and I swear to God we used to get out of the car and dance our ass off to this when it would come on the radio I’m not kidding L O L🔥🔥🔥🔥
This takes me back to 8th & 9th grade!!! 1990!! The music from this time was amazing! This makes me think of Biz Markie Just a Friend. I think the same year was when Luther Vandross came out with Here and Now,, The BEST music ever
Hammer still had his moves in 2012 when he made a special guest appearance alongside Psy at American Music Awards performing a remix of "Gagnam Style" and "2 Legit to Quit".
For the rest of my life, anytime I hear the word "Stop", my brain will automatically say "Hammer Time"
“ Collaborate and listen”
“ In the name of love!”
I do the same thing.
LOL.That was so-FUNNY !!! LOL.
It happened alot when it came out in the 80s. 😁
Unforgettable.

Have you noticed how happy these old songs make you?
His other hit was "2 Legit 2 Quit," with its own hand gestures.
And the other one was he did the theam song for Adium’s family 2 movie
Don't forget the Addams Family Rap.
He also had songs called pray and have you seen her
He also had a hit from the previous album, Turn This Mutha Out.
Have you seen her was my JAM

I don't know if Hammer made a lot of songs but he did a TON of promotional/advertising work after this song got big.
Love me some old school jam 💯🔥❤️
GOT to move to this jam! This was the sh!t back in the day and i STILL love it!🙌❤
MC Hammer also did Addams Family Groove for the Addams Family movie.
Did we wear those parachute pants in high school? Hell yeah we did! We did the same dance after football games on Friday nights at our dances. They’d play this & Ice Ice Baby among other popular 90s greats. But yup we sure did wear parachute pants!😂
Word.✔️
I was five years old when I first heard this song. I can't tell you the amount of times I rewound the cassette tape.
Memories of me and my cousins spending ages learning this dance. We even had the same pants! 😂
If you liked this, you'll definitely ❥ (if u haven't already heard) ➠ Sir-Mix-alot's ICONIC song from the same era: 🍑 BABY GOT BACK! 🍑
Now THAT one was a club banger that they even played at every single one of our middle school dances!
Imagine in the 80s Hammer and Prime Time Deion Sanders hangin out.
Parachute pants were popular back in the early 90s, I know I actually owned a few pairs.. Also Too Legit To Quit was another one of his hits..
Thanks for remembering to have fun, man!!
Yesss they wore his pants back then. Especially those from Oakland, Ca and around the bay area.
🎉🎉🎉😂Yes ICONIC!!!!!! LOL THIS SONG WAS EVERYWHERE!!!! ON TV SHOWS, MTV, RADIO, YOU NAME IT! LOL 🎉🎉❤ RING THS BELL SCHOOLS BACK IN!!! LOL
They made a cartoon about MC. His black shoes sung and danced. The shoes made him like a superhero when he put them on
I grew up in the same town as MCHammer when he had his mansion. He got his car fixed next to the dance studio I went to as a kid. He used to stop in there. I always tried to Hammer Dance
@Shron You have the BEST reactions! I watch a lot of music/video reactions and yours is legit the GOAT!!!!❗️
That song will never get old!
Man, I had so much fun to MC hammer back in the day!
