Fade does make a bit of sense... priests as casters are squishy, and as such are supposed to have others (tanks) keeping the attackers away from them while they heal the defenders up.
Holy Priest on WoW during a certain expact had a -30% dmg taken skill...ofc that didn't put them on a tank level but more tankier than non-tank classes(EXCEPT during at the end of MoP where they gave Demonology Warlock a tanking glyph(Apothesis i think ?)...it did lack in term of holding aggro but could take hits just fine for tanking a RAID boss !(look up---> Warlock Tanking SoO Shamans 10M Heroic)...thats the only time warlock been more tanky than priests
@@bllllood In Burning Crusade, they made a raid boss that was literally DESIGNED to be tanked by a mage... basically a fire caster that had a buff the mage could steal that reduced fire damage by over 90% if I remember right... there was also a high-armor set of cloth gear in vanilla that had 154 stamina, 1325 armor, and 10% resist silence and interrupt effects.
@@bllllood Friend of mine was in the open beta, I joined a couple weeks into vanilla... I always liked to do things different like my warrior who focused on agility instead of strength. I felt like things went downhill starting with Cata, and last time I played was halfway through BfA.
@@InternetGravedigger BFA was pure garbage...after the Draenor expact they made farming collectible & crafting gear absurdly tedious...too tedious(design for cheaters)........i didn't play legion but i seen how badly design it was...they also killed some good stuff too :S...i enjoyed Cata-Draenor personnaly....i think Cata was finely design but i think ppl mostly had a beef with the difficulty ramp up for dungeons...the multi-difficulty setting they made during MoP was nice..it did cater to ppl of different skills/IQ levels.....also the thing i hated about BFA was mass pull deny....pull big ? stun lock spammed....even if your skilled stun lock spam mean can't do anything :S...and ppl lack in term of brain these days....they dont know whats kiting and applying slows effect....honestly mass pull would been doable in mythic in bfa if ppl knew how kiting work(aka apply slow effect)...unfortunetly tank role didn't have the tools for that and since the mobs would stun lock spam if stayed in melee range well gg even if you got the rotation right.......during Cata ? 3-4 packs pull ez(in non-raid gear) as Blood DK(wasn't a raider in cata)......MoP ? pull the entire dungeon in raid gear.....could also pull the entire throne of thunder raid rooms mobs + boss altogether in the lfr difficulty(i technicly succeeded once after the Animus fight.....but i locked like HALF the raid group outta the boss fight...despite telling them to go straigth to the boss b4 i pull(half raid: ignore what i said then whine for the wipe that resulted because they could not bother to follow the instructions)....as for dps meter Vengeance did amazing work for my blood dk lol....me as tank 1 million dps....other ppl that kept up with me and manage to follow.....100-200k dps.....well i didn't die immediatly after the entire group of mobs + boss was on me...but like only 2 of the 6 healer was in the boss room....so they could not keep up with all the aoe dmg going out and keep everyone alive....so we had to intentionnaly die on purpose after all the mobs died and the first doggy of Iron Qon died XD....i wasn't kick out of the raid group..but a lot of arguing ensued between ppl after that...had some supporter....some silent ppl....and some angry ppl claiming i didn't say anything when i did say something XD.....1 of the most memorable time in that lfr raid.....another time was when 2 ppl in that very same raid(not same raid group)(other wing part) could not perform a trick to skip mobs and go straight to boss....ppl wanted to kick both of them then i suggested that the 1 managing to perform the trick first gets to stay and be the winner...and the loser get the kick.....that raid group went along the idea and had some fun watching 2 ppl struggling againts each other to not get kick out...that was mean i know but 1 of the 2 didn't get to be salty(sorta saved 1 person from the kick trough an evil suggestion).........and the final time was on my rogue.....omg he's ripping bosses aggro from tank !...at the same time on meter chart my dps 6X the amount of the second best dpser.....kin of gave dat facepalm to the group but they liked the huge dps lol....amusing though that tanks lost aggro to me despite them having 500% threat generation AND a taunt.....sowwie for wall of text :P had a urge to share my good time in the game.....good stuff you missed btw....WotLK dungeon in MoP gear(queue up and 1 shotting everything in lfd as a caster(i did that on my mage)..and i met 1 moonkin druid that did it too...1 group call me toxic for 1 shotting everything(bosses include) and carrying them through and vote kicked my mage after first boss XD they weren't happy to get free lvl...but every other groups absolutly loved the carry.....1 tank that was obsess with roleplay went "i quit, i didn't sign for my role to be useless" "proceed to lv group"...other 3 players in the same group sorta laugh it off and tagged along my mage....unfortunetly Blizzard axed that fun in Draenor and nerfed the mop gear allowing to do that......they also axe old gear//alchemy potion abuse in timewalking dungeons(combination of multi-expact items resulted in gross dps in there XD)
I could see Death wish make a return at some point of HS life cycle, once Odyn rotates out and Warrior needs a finisher. Incredibly busted tho but still cool nonetheless
Prayer of Fortitude would have made some sense. Priest was all about keeping their minions healthy, they often had high health and they had ways to heal them. Having a mass buff for 1 mana would have been pretty decent. I know it certainly would have been excellent in my Holy Zoo deck from back in the day. Mental Collapse would have been BUH-ROKEN. Given its wording it would scale incredibly with spell damage as it would be +1 damage PER CARD per spell damage. So just a Thalnos + Mental Collapse would be 2 damage per card for 4 mana... I can already see the dumb Malygos shenans by the time BRM came out with a Thaurissan tick, casting double Mental Collapse for 6 damage per card each... Fade makes sense based on the Warcraft class of Priest. Which had a spell called Fade that reduced their threat (Basically made everyone else a higher priority target). Hence giving minions Taunt and then drawing a card to make it cycle. It would have fit with the whole "Heal your minions" style of Priest (If they bothered to make that a thing for more than 0.1 seconds) Mana Spring Totem would have been cracked. We already know the shenans that Summoning Portal created with its discount on only minions and "Not less than (1)" stipulation. I suppose it would have been held back by Shaman's infamous lack of draw (But once we got Spirit of the Frog, all hell would have broken loose...) Jadefire Satyr might have actually seen play. Warlock has always had those janky Demon buff cards, you know the likes of Demonfuse, Demonfire, Bloodfury Potion and Demonheart. Dropping down a 5/5 stealth would have been a good target for these buffs, because it would have been difficult to remove before you could make it massive (And unlike Doomguard, the Satyr wouldn't discard your buffs)
One thing to note Zeddy in the early days of hearthstone there was alarm o bot that was used to cheat out big minions which heavily changed deck building to cheat out large minions or ones that facilitated those tech minions that don't care about losing battlecry.
nah since face in wow is basically an threat/aggro drop it says "Fade out, removing all your threat and reducing enemies' attack range against you for 10 sec" blizz would probably make the hero stealth for one turn or something toxic like that ESPECIALLY IN PRIEST!!!

That hunter card could of been nuts, a lot of old people remember the only way to f2p HS back in the day was to win 30 games a day to get your 300 gold. So the prevailing strategy was to just run face hunter or zoo lock in unranked and you either win by turn 6 or you just conceded.

Also the joke about the use of "his" in the in-dev writing for Mental Collapse was a bit rough, Zeddy. I don't like being reminded of twitter drama with the "triggering" and bigots in a lighthearted Hearthstone video. IIRC, spell schools were added until the Forged in the Barrens expansion in 2021, so obviously the spells from Alpha-Beta didn't have any spell school.
I mean... It's still not. Since it's not actually anything to do with fire, it's metaphorical "Inner Fire" like, inspiration, courage or confidence. Ergo, it's using divine power to "Ignite your inner fire" making you feel more confident and courageous (Which in original Warcraft games was simply an increase to armour)

4:38 I believe fade is a Shadow Priest spell in WOW to protect themselves from being attacked. Giving your minions taunt is basically this.
Fade in Wow is a generic Priest ability that reduces your threat level. So yeah.
Reminder that Greater Healing could deal up to 20 face damage if you play it with Auchenai Soulpriest
