Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! So very helpful. I’ve inherited a slightly used Passport 2.0 from my mother-in-law who quilted for years. I only received the machine-no manual, no foot control, no accessories. It’s been years since I’ve done sewing, so your video has been a lifesaver and time saver for me! Thanks so much!
I bought my machine from a friend that was upgrading to another sewing machine. This is an excellent video and shows some fantastic instruction. I really enjoyed this tutorial.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I have had this machine for about 5 years with no lessons on it. Now I love the machine even more! Learned so much! Thanks!!!
Thank you for this video. I have the same sewing machine I got as a gift for my birthday and I haven't been able to sew on it because I could not set up the machine 😅 This will help me to start. 🙏
Very clear explanation and demonstration. You also gave some helpful hints--I did not know that a spool cap wasn't necessary with a mini king spool of thread. No wonder mine was always getting tangled up.I have a Passport 3.0, which has a few more features. Passport is a powerful, sturdy, compact machine.
After too many bad camera angles and faulty terminology I switched to Heirloom Creations. If you are feeling frustrated I would suggest going to Sara's clear, upbeat and concise channel.
Thank you for your tutorial on working with the one stop button hole foot on the Pfaff Passport 2.0. I’m following your instructions and when I press the power button to sew my machine just squeaks.. as if I’ve left the foot in the up position. Which I haven’t it is lowered ready to sew. Please can you advice me what to do? I’ve turned my machine off and on again, but still it doesn’t sew it just squeaks. Fingers crossed you can help. Ruth UK
Hi, Ruth, I'm afraid I don't know what might be causing your machine to squeak. The only thing I can suggest is that you take it to a dealer and have them look at it.
@@dalenemcdonald-mcdonaldsse8689 Thank you Darlene, I found that I needed to pulled down a button hole lever which sits on the left of the needle and behind the threader. Once that was placed in the position between the two arms on the button foot. It worked brilliantly. Thank you for you Tutorial.. I just missed the bit about the button lever.
@@ruthwood461 Oh, good! I almost asked about that, but I thought the machine would still try to sew. Glad you didn't have to take it in for service. Dalene
Is it possible to do light weight leather with this machine? (with the right needle of course) - I'm thinking of getting the passport 2, 3, or select 4.2, but I am unsure which suits me best. - I will not be travelling, but the easy storing is a benefit.
I am having trouble stay stitching my cotton/poly blend (gauzy like fabric) . The tension is too tight. How do I adjust tension??? Using Aurofil thread. Also - I can't get Pfaff bobbins to fit on bobbin winder. Only the few bobbins that came with the machine fit. My Pfaff dealer insists that they should fit. ??? Thank you
Hi, Caroline. This machine uses Class 15 bobbins, not the PFAFF branded bobbins. It's been a while since we've had one of these machines in stock because of COVID, but we have one now. I'll look at the tension when I'm in the store tomorrow and get back to you.
She leaves out a crucial piece of info on buttonholes - pulling down that lever behind the needle threader. I had to watch a different person's video for Passport 3.0 to find out. You can see she has the lever down but she never says how it got there.
Is the foot up when you thread the machine? Make sure you floss the thread into the tension discs with the foot up when threading. What type of fabric are you using? Are you using good quality thread? Thread that is labeled dual duty or all purpose will often cause tension problems.

You gave me confidence! But, there is one answer to a question that I am searching for. How do we move the needle position on the Passport 2.0?
Thank you very much! I am ready to try a buttonhole now!

Great.
Please show us how to remove the top cover (to remove a stuck thread in the thread path for example).

The tension knob is on the top of the machine. You would adjust it down to reduce the top tension.

Becky, Thanks for letting me know about the omission. I'll see if we can re-record that portion.
Thank you.

good video, just wish camera was showing closer to show details.. too far now to see
My bobbin keeps jamming ? Does anyone know why it is doing this? It is a pretty new machine to me.
I suggest you take it to your dealer.
I am having problems with tension. How can I fix that?

How don’t use the gathering foot
I'm not sure I understand. Do you want me to demonstrate the gathering foot?

Hi, Frank. I'm afraid we don't have a PFAFF 2508 machine in stock, so I can't make a tutorial on that one. I wish I could help. Best of luck.
The camera angle wasn't that good.
Maybe hire a new camera man/woman?
Yes, we've had some trouble getting a good camera angle. Thanks for the feedback!
