Great tips about shooting. I have played basketball for years, and in the past I have had an inconsistent shot. I could not figure out why. Then I learned to grip the ball (shooting hand) with a wide grip of my fingerpads and lift the ball slightly off my palm while shooting. After a lot of practice., this (and giving the ball more arch) greatly increased my accuracy. Just putting this out there for what it's worth.

I haven't even dribbled a ball or shot one in 20 years or so. I'm 40 years old now and randomly stumbled across one of your videos and I was so entertained I watched would have to be 3hrs of your content (then subscribed) and ended up buying a $3k Megaslam XL hoop for our family. We have 4 kids ranging from 5 years old to 22 years old. I am so excited! I grew up with a hoop and so should my kids. Thanks for the content!

I used to be so good at shooting when i used to play soccer more than ball but when i started playing my shots became garbage all my shots before i started to ball were wet and now they r brick 😭
1.Stance = Power,Low and wide
2.Hand Placement= left hand=Guide right hand/Shooting hand =Flick wrist
3.Body Alignment= line feet with basket. Bring to Center of body Over shoulder Right side of face

I was a good spot up shooter then I learned how to dribble n shoot better than I got good at layups now I can’t shoot.
Great video! One thing that I learned is the hop step when someone passes you the ball off a curl or swing pass. Hoping into the pass helps get your legs to get engaged like a rubber band and you get better bounce and power for your shot.

Skill for the good shooters
: say to yourself that the rim is very large and can receive almost 2 ball (45cm for the rim ans 25cm for the ball)
That skill make you feel more confident and it goes in more often.
Try funny and '' ridiculous '' shots from very far, from behind the basket, very high shots, on hand shots
I played today after 6 months without playing and I shot very well (even from far) after just 10 minutes training lol (I'm an og so I got it in the blood ;)

The most important thing for shooting is your feet. Like Curry, if your feet is set, you can make straighter shots. Also, if your feet is set and it’s not going straight, look at your elbows where your shooting hand is. If your elbow is not straight and is going left or right ( depending which hand you shoot) practice by making your elbows *STRAIGHT*. Do not jump high because it will affect your power the higher you jump. When your about to shoot with your feet set and elbows straight, put your heels up and flick the ball. Well, that’s my technique I guess. ( SECRET ) When your about to shoot, imagine your hand is in the rim when you shoot. I don’t know why but it just helps me make shots myself lol. Anyways, have a great day 😃 By the way, what I mean by “Set your feet” is like making your feet straight with BOTH of them. Don’t turn your feet that much from the side because you might shoot to the right or left 😅 FYI: Flick helps you get more power. When you think you have to much power into your shot, don’t make it less powered! Just go for it. Don’t have doubts because you might hit the rim because of less-power.

Thanks for the tutorial. I always have trouble with a jumpshot when I play basketball with my friends because whenever I go with a jumpshot the ball usually hits the backboard and doesn't go in or it's just an air ball.

aim approx 6 inchs above rim and six inchs in front of rim theory i came up with is the same as throwing ball straight up in air ball STOPS for nano second at top most point before coming back down same as at the 6 inch up and 6 inch in front point thus coming in similair to a plane landing anyway i have been playing for thirty years without any coaching as soon as i tried this about two years back i consistantly here people saying hes a shooter ..hes money ..etc before that competive people didnt want to pass me the ball even though i was a lock down defender with unquestionable stamina because i would either consitantly clank it off the front rim or the back of the rim now people are even saying to me you got to shoot more as i look often to set up people for easy baskets after all its about team success evn if ego tells me different love your humbleness coach professor

This actually worked for me I would air ball or hit the rim a lot but then this helped me
I find many times I miss it released of my pink and ring finger. When it realeas from my index or middle it’s always accurate and switch; stance is also very important

Cuban Assassin if you get to the point where you can’t make four or five three pointers in a row it’s time to fix the two handed form. Being a great shooter requires you to be consistent and shooting with your form will not make you consistent. It’s summer which is a good time to change your form. Look at Steph Curry for instance: He changed his shot one summer. Do form shooting and don’t leave the three point line. Look up videos on how to perfect your shooting form. Once you have the basics down, then you can’t start moving farther and farther from the basket. Good luck! 😃
I shoot with two hands and I've been playing basketball for 8 years I can shoot with 1 aswell but 8 years perfecting 1 shot makes it hard to switch. I say if it works dont fix it but you have to be consistent.

Cuban Assassin if youre young work on form, balance etc. Its harder to get consistent aim and arc when you shoot like a pass. Practice good habits and theyll work wonders for you as you get older.
Good advice - especially the right forearm perpendicular to the court surface part. You didn't mention what you were aiming at: I prefer to aim at the metal net hangers on the rim. On my jump shot, I aim where the net hangs from the hangers. That gives me the "Duke Rip" - that sound that a well coached player has when his successful shots rip the net. Also, you might have covered the importance of correct head tilt because that effects the arc of the shot.
