With the andis, ive used the zr and the emerge. The zr feels bulky but does do its job, the emerge feels great in the hand. Im looking at getting the bespoke, groomers are complaining about battery life though. The emerge is probably the best bang for your buck even for a seasoned groomer.

Always good to get first hand reviews! I have heard somewhat of the same thing from groomer groups in terms of the bulkiness or heaviness of the zr, but there’s lots of people who swear by them! Haven’t heard much about the emerge or bespoke though so thank you so much for dropping a comment! I’ll pin it for others to see

Why are the spm's for the Heinigers different when I look it up? All the ones I have seen have been 2,600-3,100...

That’s because they are measured in double strokes so compared to other brands that are measured in single strokes you have to double the spm. Hope that makes sense!

Oh, I get it! I'm sorry, I'm just a bather/groomer in training and so I don't really understand much of this stuff. Thanks so much for explaining!

No problem! I had to reach out to a representative (before I bought the opals) for clarification. I was a bit confused as well. Hope the video helps you out!

HEINIGER OPALS is 2 speeds but only 2,300- 3,100 SPM is what the website says… or I’m looking at the wrong clipper

You aren’t wrong! Heiniger measures their spm though in double strokes whereas most are by the single stroke, so you have to double the numbers. It’s a bit confusing I know.

What clippers would you recommend for a Newfoundland (heavy, oily coat)? Also, having a rating on how loud the clippers are would be helpful. My girl is very shy around the "buzz" of clippers and the quieter the better.

Thanks for the input! I’ll add the decibel rating when I do an update! For a big heavy double coat you are ideally wanting maximum strokes per minute, as this will help really push through it more seamlessly. The heiniger opals would be great but I know they’re pricey. If that’s not possible, even a downgrade to the saphirs will do the trick! If heiniger isn’t your jam, perhaps the artero hits since they’re spm should get the job done.

I need help, how do I get more blades for the andis edge? I can’t find anything for them

Just to be sure, you have the ultra edge? Should fit most blades! Clipper blades are pretty universal, aside from andis blades you can use geib, ags, show tech, oster, Wahl (not the 5-in-1 but the regular blades) I used to have the blue corded ultra edge many moons ago and any of those blades listed worked with it! Any grooming supply shop should carry those brands and you can likely even find them on Amazon 😁

Good to know! Thank you for the feedback. I’ve never personally used that brand, but other groomers do seem to recommend it though, but always love to hear the good the bad and the ugly!
