I’m not handy. Got 1 of these at Homie Depot solely because it was the only box whose weight I could lift & carry. After a complete sad lip experience trying to assemble this, I took to YT & found you. Discovered I had the bottom shelf upside down; once all shelves were reversed, everything went together easily once I laid the unit on its side. I am building storage all over the house now; am on number 5! Proud of myself!! Wish this was designed with the lip upwards though so things in my new pantry don’t slide off. Fixed that by putting down spongy drawer liner.
Man this helped me so much. The manual didn't exactly help and I saw these parts that weren't shown at all. Thank you so much man. I rarely like videos but this deserves a like. It saved my ass. Thank you for this.
Thank you, I was wondering about the round black plastic part. That's why I sought out a RUclips video. This is a good video. I really hate struggling with something that I know should be easy to do.
Helpful for a lot of areas, but I wish I could have seen how you started the bottom shelf as I have to also do this by myself. Everything else is very well explained and show. thanks
I have been messaging the company for weeks now trying to find out what to do with little round washer type parts. They look important. I guess they are , but only for shipping. Thanks for clarifying there are just packaging!!!!!
Thank you for this video. The instructions that came with the unit did not explain that the tapered sleeves had ridges inside that fit in the grooves on the poles. As a result, the sleeves were sliding down the legs. Also I didn’t realize that the had a top and bottom. You saved my sanity (until the next DIY project)!
I just put two of these together and to my surprise it was a pita doing so, especially for the first one. I initially thought it'd be a breeze doing so but it was fairly frustrating, unfortunately. The concept of the plastic sleeves catching on the "indent" on the legs was a poor idea, at least company's execution of it. They kept falling apart and off the legs. Therefore, I began to wrap each pair of sleeves/clips with transparent tape to keep them together. The company definitely should have used a different way to secure the retaining clips to the legs and ultimately to the shelves. At a minimum there should be a deeper indent on the legs to better retain the clips. I find it hard to believe that this unit can hold up to 750 pounds as the box it came in boasts. Maybe you can do another video putting the 750 pounds claim to the test!
you answered my primary question 1:29 into the video,..that. "...these little plastic parts" are useless, throw them away, and were packed into the shelf storage unit box to mess with us! thank you.
Same here. That's exactly why I started searching for a build video.. To answer my question - "What are these little plastic parts that aren't mentioned in the manual?" Thanks!
Great video! I really like these shelving units, they're very versatile. (And you can easily add casters to the legs to make the units moveable. I did this with two of them that I'm using as TV stands in a vacation home.)
I'm ready to return mine. The two piece holding plastics are too small and don't stay when applying the shelf. Very frustrating evening trying to set this up.
the assembly is a bit more challenging than I thought. The plastic inserts don’t wrap around perfectly and I’m scared to push the shelf in the inserts. Kinda impressing you did this assembly in 10 mins and I’ve been sitting here half hour tryna figure out what to do
Sorry to hear that, you'll know the inserts are together when they 'click', the groove needs to be lined up fairly well on the frame in order to do that. If I find they don't 'click' then I've not quite lined it up correctly. Hope that helps.
I had the same issue with mine not wrapping around completely. That’s why I’m here lol. Looks like his don’t wrap around completely either but they did click and don’t move so I’m gonna go with it.
@@ldontcaree Yes it was a pita for me to put them together, the first one in particular (I assembled two of them -- see my comment above). Poor design of those retaining clips and I echo exactly what you said. I finally wrapped them in tape to keep them on the legs. I THOUGHT putting these together would be a cinch but to my dismay it turned out to be fairly frustrating. Each set I assembled also came with black plastic rings which aren't even shown in the assembly instructions and I'm wondering what they're for! I know the fellow in this video says they're useless so why does the factory bother packing them?
They do need to 'click' in place which can require a little patience, I now have 8 of these units holding several hundred pounds in my garage so whilst I am sorry for your experience they appear to me to be very well made.
2024 here !!! Thank you so much for this video! I was going crazy trying to figure out the purpose of those plastic things!!!
I was dreading putting this together. So happy I found your video, made it so easy, thanks!

Very easy to assemble after
I watched your instructions. Thank you for explaining about all of the extra bits and pieces that were in the box.
$22!!!
$44 now days!!!
Good demo. Thanks!
Grandma, me, had no trouble what so ever assembling the unit!
Those crazy round thingys had me going!
They are on sale again for 30$ with tax already

Glad it helped, it's comments like this that make doing this worthwhile!
Thank you for the thorough instructions! This video was super helpful!
A million thank yous! Really,, I looked at instructions and little black round pieces and thought, forget it! You make it easy!
Excellent explanation. Will work for all sizes of these shelves if someone pays attention to the details that your repeat several times.

much appreciated - got one of these days, was confused - now I have a shelf unit :) thanks.
Great explanation! I have been putting off assembling these shelves. Now I'm ready. Thank you again!

This saved my life. I was literally close to tears trying to put this thing together
Looks nice and simple Thank You for sharing this.
I have one from Amazon that’s a five shelf unit for My RC’s like You’re doing.

This is a simple task but i need the video because I got lost. Thank you.

Excelent Instructions!
Thanks for the video. I want to add castors to this shelf. What is the thread side I need? 1/4-20 or is it metric?
Thank you so much for this instructional video
Two of mine fell out the box and wow was it tight to pull out
Great video. Just wanted to know, what is the maximum height when you extend the height adjuster all the way out? Thanks mate.
Very helpful! Ty!!!
Great video! Very clear and helpful.
Glad it was helpful! When I shot this I wasn't sure if there'd be interest but judging by the views I did something right!
You’re great thanks

Ty my first time putting a shelf together at 53 years old 😂
Thank you
Has anyone figured out the PVC pipe trick to stack these? Not being able to stack them is really frustrating
so reading the other comments, i shouldn't worry the sleeves to not actually come together tights? there is a space between the two pieces.
I made sure to like the video! Thank you!!
Awesome! Thank you!
I didn't see the parts to attach to a wall, but I am not worried, as only putting game consoles on it
nice
Good vid
Does this have castors ?
I just bought this one hard to assembly :(
follow this and it shouldn't be...
The plastic inserts did not click and stay in place. Kept sliding as I tried to place the shelf. Poor engineering. I had to return it. Waste of time.
