The walls come out much smoother using silicone caulking. Silicone is a lot more easier to control and you won't have to do as much sanding on the sides. The silicone will give you a smoother look.

@@elanorV You must use isopropyl alcohol. Any other kind of alcohol will danify the work. As the glue release, just wipe your jewelry. If you spray the alcohol before, It's to eliminate the bubbles, while the resin is not gel. After it is cured, you can wash in the alcohol.
Буквально на днях таким же способом хотела цифры отлить из эпоксидки. Ничего не вышло( не смогла отделить клей, от эпоксидки. Пришлось лепить из глины, покрывать топом и заливать силиконом

Something else you can use is silicone caulk. I think it's great for bigger projects like free form coasters.

Sanding with graduated sand paper and then auto polish will make it shine.
