Dr. Noel Erskine

Dr. Noel Erskine is an Associate Professor at the Candler School of Theology and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In this episode, Dr.Erskine discusses the role of the church and faith in a culture of violence and how that culture is too often accommodated by our churches. Dr. Erskine remarks: "There is a crisis of faith when there is a distance between word and deed. There is such a gap between who we are called to be and who we actually are.... Anyone who follows Jesus, would have to acknowledge that war is a failure and that we have departed form the principles and teachings of Jesus." "Peace with God is war with the world...To have peace with God is to begin to question the way of the world."
