I'm not too religious, but is Ethan putting on his tiffilian just because he's getting Bar Mitzvahed, or because he means it? Then after his Bar Mitzvah, forget about the tiffilian? And there doesn't seem to be many people in shul. When I was Bar Mitzvahed many moons ago, the entire congregation was there...whether they knew I was being Bar Mitzvahed or not.
