Asides from the fact that Senna looks so out of place in the Eclipse skinline, the Prestige version looks more like a Battle Queen skin.
Prestige are supose to be models using a l8ne of clothes resambling the skinline

Yep, I'm also here to point out that this Prestige isn't supposed to be in the Coven universe. This new prestiges are meant to be models wearing outfits inspired by certain themes (such themes being the actual skinlines). It still fails at showing the inspiration, though, but at least it's not a fashion model skin shoehorned into the Medieval fantasy universe.

Honestly I thought the theme of “met gala“ was the whole idea for prestige 2.0. The way I saw it, all the new prestige skins are all in the same universe referencing other skin lines and giving their high class twist on those concepts

As far as I understood their approach, it's still supposed to fit in their respective universe - just in a high fashion sense.
Ocean Song Seraphine and High Noon Talon for example do that job amazingly well
But both Eclipse Senna Variants don't really feel like Eclipse skins, so they both look off

For those who don't know yet, the new Prestige skins starting with Eclipse Senna are no longer set in that universe. They are inspired by that universe and set in the current one.
That is exactly why High Noon Talon Prestige wears a black leather jacket and rides a motorbike. Motorbikes didn't exist in the High Noon universe.
They are reimagining the skins completely and the VFX of this skin is a class apart.

They all do their respective decently except for lunar eclipse senna....and then presitge eclipse senna which yeah.

I think you might have misunderstood what the prestige skins for this year are about. They aren't in their respective skinlines but are "what if a fashion studio made an outfit using the skin as a base design and they all attended a gala together".
Thats the point he makes before continuing on, his issue with the skin is not that its a "fashion studio outfit" but rather that it doesnt look like something out of the Coven Universe AT ALL
@@halfmoon4468 and my point was that it wasn't meant to look like from the same universe at all. The new SG prestige doesn't look like they are from the universes at all, but they have hints, like the gem in the chest of Ekko and the live orbs for Syndra.

I agree, it's a naming issue, this skin being sold as "Lunar Eclipse" is false advertising. Pantheon's Prestige uses his Ruined skin as a base but it's theme is completely different, as such, it gets a different name, Ascended Pantheon

If im not wrong, Prestiges are not part of the universe they make reference, they are models using clothes that refere to that respective skinline

Absolutely not true, at least not for all the prestige skins - a lot of descriptions for prestige skins directly add to the lore of their original skins and try to sell themselves as a continuation of those skins’ “storyline” (see, for example, Prestige Star Guardian Soraka)
And this skin didn't even refer to that skinline... As others said, the skin looks more like it comes from the Battle Queen skinline

I love they try to make high fashion skin as prestige, but maybe it would've been better if it was a separate skin line like ashen knights, as an actual high fashion gala skins.
It's like if they mashed battle queen and space groove together and this was the result.
I'm not sure where you got that description of her being supposed to be at some kind of ball from. The only description I could find reads "Prestige Lunar Eclipse Senna: Burning up the runway in a look inspired by an ancient order of magical knights, Senna brings a cold, but determined energy to the Gala proceedings. Evil beware - these looks can kill... and kill again." Which is pretty far removed from a medieval ball. This also fits with their whole approach to prestige 2.0. Making them look more like their own thing, based on high fashion and fused with the skin lines thematic instead of being based on the original skin itself. It's debatable wether or not it's a good direction but I'd still say the design goal was achieved here.

he's actually not that right tho, he missed it on the skin concept, they actually ARE for something like the met gala, not the coven universe, prestige skins are champions using outfits inspired on the skin but in a fashionable way
i have a feeling this skin was supposed to be a "test" of sorts for the prestige 2.0 skins. senna already has a prestige, but shes pretty popular, so they thought "well, we're doing something new, let's just see how people react to these differences when compared to the old prestiges", especially since 1- this skin, as well as ALL of the non-event prestige 2.0 skins were supposed to cost 25 capsules, which is almost 19 THOUSAND rp and 2- this was the only prestige 2.0 to only stay for 1 patch on the mythic shop, as all of the other ones stayed/are staying for 2 patches. so it feels like a prototype of this new "what if fancy party" concept. i think it does an ok job at it, but not nearly good enough. senna is such a cool design and you can go so so so many ways with it, and this direction they chose does two things wrong: fit senna in the eclipse universe and fit fancy clothing in the eclipse universe. so yeah, an ok skin, but not nearly as good as it should've been
This skin makes Senna look like my Mom and I don't know how to feel about that.
It seems that instead of being inspired from the Coven/Eclipse universe, is inspired from Cosmic/Battle Queens universe.
Is a nice skin, but doesn't really scream Eclipse.
While the look of the skin fits the "High Class Met Gala" look of Prestige 2.0, Senna's still doesn't look like it was inspired by Lunar Eclipse, it looks more like Battle Queen with some Cosmic thrown in there. The Prestiges that came after do a much better job of matching their inspirations than this one

the theme is not "what if there was a ball in THAT universe" no. not in that universe. you got it wrong lol, base eclipse is much worse since there is nothing knightly about it, prestige eclipse is giving the high fashion theme in a modern world universe pretty well
I'm not really sure what order you do these in but i would humbly request you to do one of these on Twisted Fate, he has so many skins but it's still all on his old ass model, he even has a old school legendary that changes nothing, imo his best looking one is Crime City even tho it feels a bit TOO obvious to put that first
It's probably tough to put too creative skins on him due to his kit but i would love to hear your opinion on it!
i could be wrong but im pretty sure the new prestige skins are suppost to be a met gala look based on the skin line the og skin is from. so for senna it's her showing up to the met gala in outfit based on the coven universe. so personaly i think its fine.

I dislike Eclipse Senna too but the point of reworked Presitge skins is that they are not in the OG skin universe, it's a separate place where they do MET Gala outfits inspired by the original skinline, it's not in the Coven universe at all

I could feel that this is Senna's worst skin. True dmg Prestige it's better than this Prestige. it's more like a Battle Queen skin, or even a stylized version of Spave Groove skin than an Eclipse one. I wonder what's Kayle's best skin, like mostly of her skins are extremely well made and it's hard to pick one.
Her best skin could have been Sun Eater if she didn’t get cucked

I see nobody seems to be capable of identifying certain motifs indicative of Eclipse. The skin is definitely identifiable as Eclipse when you see the various motifs all over her in this.
I've always had friends that share similar ideas with me about what a good skin looks like, you know, transforming the character while still being recognizable as such, until about 3 months ago a friend of mine wanted to play league and his definition of a great skin is either something with bazonkas or anything that looks fashionable, like this is his favorite senna skin and he basically despises any attempt no make something unique.

The outfit design of the prestige skin is great. I personally enjoy it as a stand-alone and I also enjoy coven Senna as a stand-alone because I think even though Senna is a PERFECT fit thematically with the coven universe, both skins fail to look like the belong there
I did not like this skin at first but once I saw the vfx it won me over. I’m glad I got it during the ultra short time that it was available.
It looks like if dawnbringer and batlle queen had a child, this also is a problem with some of the newer prestiges as well like prestige talon looking like an arcana skin

damn, didn't consider presitge skins in my prediction. Prediction for best Sejuani skin: She has a bunch of cool ones, but I'm gonna guess either beast hunter or firecracker because they're just more vibrant, I guess. I'd personally go with Bear Cavlary because she rides a damn bear, but I don't see that one being chosen for the video. Eclipse is pretty cool due to the mount.

yep but the new prestige versions are exactly just high fashion versions of the skin, example Syndra´s not flying around Valorant city in her beautiful prestige version, they´re not the same Syndra or al least not the canon Syndra from SG just a fancy version of her in a met gala universe if you wanna put her in some place

Riot said that the new prestige skins will be like a gala, tha champs will reference his skin in a gala model, like highnoon talon o sg syndra, they are a cosplay of a skin. But senna eclipse prestige edition is the worst skin of senna because her effects are the same of true damage prestige

Exaggerated animation to make it more readable when you look at it top down
yeah that is always there and its for the same reason every League Model has such exaggerated movements when looked at from the front: Visual readability. In Game you only see Senna from top down and much further away, so her breathing movement has to be this ridicoous to even register from that perspective. Skyen has mentioned this i think every single time he reviewed the animations of any Champion model so for an indepth explanation you can check any of those out^^

Most of the comments are wrong about the new skinline of prestige, Riot fuck it up explaining so people get confuse when they see every new prestige skin. it simple to understand, the prestige version DOES NOT belong on the skinline of the base skin, it is a high fashion universe that takes the concept of the base skin for the clothing inspiration. PD: that is the reason that we may not see prestige for yordles or monster champs this year
i would say the best prestige skin would be volis dual dragon one it looks great and changes the skin in a better way and the gold fits voli so good

I am once again asking TB to take a look at DoTA 2's Marci, because she's pretty much the only example of a non-verbal female character in games I can think of except Chell from portal, and I think calling attention to those designs is a good thing.

Feel like they base modell just kinda went downhill for the lot of them... this is a prime exampel, it would have been much cooler if she was fully armored or something instead of trying to be fasinabel.

the prestige 2.0 skins are set in a fashion runway universe not their core inspiration universe. They /are/ MET Gala where the theme is the base version of the prestige skin - it is her worst skin for sure though, she was a poor choice to kick off what can best be described as a cheap LV knockoff skinline considering she has an AUTHENTIC LV skin, unsurprisingly this prestige suffers from the same thing the 2 star guardian prestige suffer from in that considering they're supposed to essentially be a 'real world' fashion inspired by these fantasy universes, they're incredibly uninspired, next to no medieval references to boot, and Ekko and Syndra take no inspiration whatsoever from military sailor scout uniforms, Ekko is basically cyberpop streetwear, and Syndra is wearing a modernised version of her base skin recoloured and polished. Seraphine is a prime example of success in this concept, and Talon whilst desperately in need of an ASU at least rocks the cowboy style and denim in a way that wouldnt have you not inviting him to the next event

I will keep preaching this to the end of time, Eclipse Senna should not have existed. Its an absolute failure as a good skin, an eclipse skin, and its an awful prestige.
The Coven vs Eclipse skinlines have always been Solar/Lunar powered knights against the fashionable witches of the old gods, reborn in the flesh of their greatest believers, seeking to end the old world. You have Leona, Kayle, Sivir, Sejuani, Aatrox as the grand knights in armor, fighting against the coven witches. And then there's Senna in a leather suit of "armor" and a blindfold for some reason?
They really set something up with Aatrox being a sword wielding knight of the Lunar Eclipse order, and Kayle being the blade wielding warrior of the Solar Eclipse order, its a shame we didn't get a mirror for Sejuani, a Lunar mounted knight, maybe one who only has one skin, who's base model already featured some heavy armor and OK fine I'll stop beating around the bush, it absolutely should have been Lunar Eclipse Rell.
Leona being the first and only Eclipse skin set up this really nice potential precedent of duality in the Eclipse skin line. For the Solar eclipse, there is the Lunar Eclipse. For the coven, there is the Eclipse order as a whole. Does this mean we should have gotten a Lunar Eclipse Sivir skin to keep the balance going? Yes. Yes it does. But the worse crime here is that you can tell the design team WANTED to keep that balanced with Aatrox and Kayle, and I'm willing to bet at least one person proposed Lunar Rell to be the opposite of Solar Sejuani, but someone higher up the chain said Rell isn't popular enough to get a skin, so they gave it to their newest poster girl Senna, and then also gave her a second prestege skin on top of it, just 'cus they can, and they know people will buy it because Senna is a popular champion.
TLDR: Prestige Senna is, at least to me, an obvious choice of money over theme, and the riot higher ups demanding more skins for popular champions rather than giving them to champions who fit the skin lines.

also rell ended up getting a skin in the most popular skinline of the game so she got her justice
Skyen, that's not the skin setting. It's actually the Met Gala thing. New Prestiges are set in a real world timeline where champions work as models delivering fashion inspired by fantasy thematic.
That being said, this skin is not part of the Eclipse universe
I'm honestly ok with the transition to high fashion instead of just non-canon "what if they were cooler" because it means I don't really have to care about champs like lux and senna getting multiple prestiges.
They should just start calling the new prestiges, Met Gala skins

The prestige skins take place in an entirely seperate universe where they are wearing high fashion with inspiration so half the criticism that this skin gets isn’t even valid because they consider her as part of the eclipse universe, but I do think thsi skin is still bad because it fails to deliver on the fact that there is supposed to be eclipse inspiration but all senna has are 2 small moon decals on the gun so like??? i love the skin in game though but yeah. Skyen I love you man but please keep in mind that prestige 2.0 ARE NOT part of the universes that the skins come from with the exception of maybe seraphine, the skins are supposed to be met gala-esque but senna does still fail on that premise.

In general, i think most of the prestige skins are a downgrade from the original ones, specially the gold and white ones. And i dont know if the foil card argument is good enough to sell, most of the times, bad chromas. Of course, there are exceptions like Qiyana Louis Vuitton.

I actually disagree with this one which is surprising, mostly because I believe this senna skin to be part of riots new wave of trying to make prestige skins more appealing SEPARATE from their epic counterparts, regardless given its lore purpose, it shines new light and diversifies the coven universe In a way that makes this skin at least better than project senna.

Like I enjoy Senna enough as a character to enjoy a skin that's wholely her "but Holographic Charizard." I also didn't want to get Prestige True Damage Senna (despite it honestly being the better skin) because I don't like True Damage as a skinline.

I honestly disagree. I think this is Sennas best skin because none of her other skins really do something different. All of her other skins are, let's make senna badass with a new skin of paint. But this makes her elegant with the suit and still badass with the giant Canon. The only thing is her blue hair could be better if jusy a touch darker but I love this skin
