when I see Mathew I wonder why people make fake dj's and other stupid guys famous ?! How they don't see art and contribution to music in this guy.Mathew I am making deep bow to you.Beautifull job ! Cheers from Croatia
he doesn't need to be famous if he can make a comfortable living with his music,,,,and he doesn't look like not being famous has sent him to the poorhouse....look at his gears he has money.
EXACTLY! There's something to be said for people who own/have/use/produce with actual genuine analog hardware. I'd give my left nut to have all that gear 😳 I've just started on my analog hardware journey a little over 2 years ago. And with Behringer going on their cloning spree once all the old patents became available, it's not easier & more affordable than ever to purchase analog gear. My first was the Model D and I love the sounds I get from it. Going to give myself a Christmas present this year and buy the MS-1 (FKA the MS-101) which is a clone of the Roland SH-101. Then Euro Rack is also more accessable than ever. So bringing it back to your point; the people that become famous and coveted are all the bedroom/laptop DJs & Producers. When I started to DJ in 2001, you had to buy actual turntables, then CD/Mp3 turntables. But again, now it's all different. Music in the mainstream is trash; everything has become pop music. Thank goodness there's still people who use hardware, are creative, and make music how underground used to be. Anyway. *end rant* _all I know is Matthew Johnson is a dope artist_ Cheers
EB.TV #20 - 15.07.2014 Whether solo, with Cobblestone Jazz, Modern Deep Left Quartet or his label Wagon Repair: quality is always priority number one for Mathew Jonson. The restless canadian producer is constantly striving to develop both his composition and studio chops. His sound has earned him deep respect internationally, among his production peers as well as the DJ community. So, we thought it was high time we paid Mathew a visit in his well-equipped Berlin studio for a Slices Tech Talk on Electronic Beats TV. Yes! :)
Ooh! Que'll nice videoy! Which machine is maching those lovely hats at around 00:30? And those sweet tingling noises... Really loved Mathew's CS-60 video too! Thanks EB.TV :-)
Yeah, I searched for Music Maths, couldn't find anything on the AppStore. Then did some more searches and found that it's called Music Math. Runs for 6.99€ or something right now. Guess I'll just buy it and see what it's like.
Found it! It's a Pollard Syndrum Quad drum module/machine. Ultra rare. Used by the Beach Boys drummer. From wikipedia: The Pollard Syndrum is the first commercially available electronic drum,[1][2] invented by Joe Pollard and Mark Barton in 1976.[2] There were 3 major types: The Syndrum 1, the Syndrum TwinDrum, and the Syndrum Quad, the last being the most famous.[according to whom?] At the time of its conception, Pollard was a session drummer working for the Beach Boys and the Grass Roots.[1] In 1976, he met Barton, who had designed and built some working prototypes which were previewed to some prominent drummers. Their reactions were encouraging, so Joe, Mark and Donald Stone incorporated Pollard Industries and starting selling Syndrums in Culver City, California. There were two models sold at the time, the single drum 177 and the four drum 477. Syndrums were a musical success with a surplus of endorsees, but a financial failure for the young company. Pollard, Inc. wound up selling its assets to Research Development Systems, Inc. two years later which manufactured the Syndrum CM and a couple of other slightly updated models.

They are pretty rare and hard to come by. But if you are in the states, chances go up for you. Europe is another story. Good luck.

He has been producing since early 2000s. Before Spotify and all that boutsey boo. We are talking wax homie.
He gigs all the time too, that's 1000's a gig.
this guy should collaborate with bassnectar
His tracks are not very hot. Squeaking Sounds in his tracks were fashionable in the 80's.
we'll survive without your worthless opinions.
