More reflective of the tortured state of the UK political system. A country that promoted Russian investment, participated in the laughable sanctions of the same people(which has had no effect on the Ukrainian war), and now the courts simply reinforcing the narrative by allowing property to be taken with no legal basis other than citizenship. Optics is not an excuse for poor policy. When a supposedly free society takes such measures, it sends a clear signal that such a government cannot be trusted to protect freedoms.
It would be funny if Q is the support yacht for the Enterprise or some other Star Trek themed name... As Q was a very powerful cosmic being that lived outside of the dimensions of time and space.. The only good thing we are doing for the people of Ukraine is opening the doors for refugees who decide they want to come. We used to be some of the top peacekeepers out there and now our tiny army is horribly underfunded and we are using ancient equipment.
What about the crew, they have a very uncertain future, could even be there for years who knows, surely they will leave
Very interesting video thanks 2x👍
some how i don't think this guy is a yacht captain. I have watched him from the beginning and he has never proven it.
You’re right I’m not a yacht captain and never said I was!
REALLY looking forward to the new video coming.
I am curious, and perhaps you spoke this already (my apologies if I missed it), who crews the seized vessel such My Phi when it is detained? Does the owners crew maintain it and the owner pays? Or does the government (UK in this case) hire a crew and tacks on cost penalties to the owner before the take it back when it is released?
The crew are onboard and the owner will be paying the. But I’m sure the owner is not paying any fees to Canary Wharf.
@@YachtReport TY - love your work and cannot wait for the video to drop you teased at the end. Cheers
@@YachtReport
Yes but it's possible that the crew will walk as there is no visible future, how long will they stay patient, especially if the owner accepts this as a loss over which he has no control
Well explained once again , I like this show .
Thanks!

Excellent.
YaY, Yacht Seize News!!
The US got Tango'd (Their strap-line). TBF changing a name of your own vessel is not fraud and hes not on any sanction list. This is all geopolitics and how it works. Fair play to the Spanish courts for following the law and not the governments wishes. I hope the British courts follow suit. Political posturing is one thing and enforcing the law is another.
What an absolutely stupid judgement. 'The government has the discretion to do what it wants even if the person in question has done nothing wrong except being born in the wrong place?
That is the end of the rule of law.
You have excellent sores! 👍
Keep up the great work, very entertaining.
Outrageous. They need the money to keep a lot of people in Hotels!,
Russian corrupt money is illegal in Britain, British corrupt money is not.
I'm left wing and I am appalled by the UK government's actions here. Utterly. Oscene.
This is crazy!!!!!
Nighty From the USA, E!
.....then why wasnt/isnt naumenko on the sanctions list? this sends a poor message that any russian in the uk can have their assets interfered with for no good reason.
No it shows the UK government can take assets from anyone for no reason.
So if a German citizen didn’t criticise Hitler, should we have taken their house?
If I don’t speak out against British foreign policy re Gibraltar, do the Spanish have the right to seize my yacht?
Gibraltar hasn’t invaded another country
@@YachtReport no but the British have. Many a Spaniard is under the opinion that Gibraltar belongs to Spain.
And besides I’m a private citizen - which means I’m not responsible for the invasion of Iraq, so I wouldn’t expect the Taliban to come come to Rhyl and wheel clamp me caravan…!
Wow interesting subjects but what got me most was the two UGLIEST yachts I’ve every seen. The brown bottom yacht looked like a run down building afloat where someone had tried to modernise a council estate on top and the last one was Q but there is no accounting for taste no matter how much money you have. Great video thanks for sharing Ray K UK YNWA.
omg PHI looks fantastic! (Hate this idea of thought policing people, disgraceful actually)
Love This
I’m surprised the owner doesn’t just take it in the middle of the night.
Why aren’t British politicians speaking out against wars 😢😢😢😢
They lost Afghanistan.
I knew it would take that route
If a Russian criticizes their government they are putting their families in danger.
who cares?
and if they don't they're putting ukrainian families in danger. If they don't want to talk about it, then they can keep their boats in russia. No one stopping them from not leaving Russia.
Not if they leave. If they can afford yachts like these they can afford to move there families.
@@ricardosmythe2548 Grandmothers, cousins, extended family? Many who won't want to leave? Seriously. We are lucky we don't live under a system where our families lives can be in danger.
@@zachansen8293 Many of these Russians may have families in Ukraine. I'm pro Ukrainian but these two peoples are closely tied.
Thanks for the updates. Always interesting to here about the sanctioned vessels and what they are up to. If you ever see us in a near by anchorage please make sure to stop by and say hello. 🛥🥂
Any news on the boat that was robbed
What ever happened to Disco Volante from the Bond movie, “Never Say Never Again??”
This doesn't seem fair.
Ragnar was off of Victoria BC a few days ago. How do I send you a picture ?
News@esysman.co.uk
I really like the look of the now motoryacht "Q".
Does a superyacht that's been unattended for a year have any value? Engines not turned, electrics, water systems off can't do a boat much good. Is anyone preventing the boat from sinking?
The crew is still onboard. They will be doing what they can to maintain the yacht.
Can I just ask if a russian diplomats got on this yacht with his security team and just toke command of said yacht and started moving that yacht what could happen or what could local police or goverment actually do
Love your episode's, try to like every one.

So he could blink in anywhere he wanted to... If it dose run with the Star Trek idea, may stick with a name of a race like the Q's so maybe Klingon or Federation, tho I think a persons name would be more fitting maybe Picard or Riker, maybe Janeway?? I think Janeway would be a really good name for the new ship.
The UK court system is a joke
Any autocracy's court system is a joke ...
First chapter title kind of gave it away.
Sounds like blackmail to me
The obvious mystery is why hasn't the UK added his name to their sanctioned list?
Nice color
Can already imagine the title of the next video "UK gov pays £xxxxxxxxxxxx millions to Russian owner"
who is going to rule that? Hahahahaha!
Hopefully this bad decision can be repealed.
Gorgeous MY!
I don't know all the ins and outs of this case, but on the face of it I rather think the UK Government was too hasty in first instance and then refused to admit it had been mistaken. The owner may be an "oligarch", but he's been pretty explicit in expressing his opinions on both Putin and the war in Ukraine. He deserves at least the benefit of the doubt.
The Mafia here, the Mafia there
I'm not any sanction list. So what, say what we want or we take your stuff. Da, zvuchit znakomo, nay pravda lee, tovarishch England. (Yes, it sounds familiar, doesn't it, comrade. Dunno if I translated that right but the UK getting a bit draconian here) Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess.
When u r good u r fabulous .... cram packed segment .... B R A B O...!!!!!....
With everything else that has been happening in the UK, this makes perfect sense. When you have no soul left in the country, you can just make up laws as you go and TAKE whatever you want for whatever reason you make up at the time. Whatever freedom is left in the UK, is swirling the drain. This guy did nothing wrong, but his stuff was taken because he may have THOUGHT about doing something, maybe! They took his stuff based on a THOUGHT CRIME. You guys are in BIG trouble over there, because if they will do this to this guy, based on nothing, then they CAN and WILL do this to you. Good luck
Hehe. Like ALL GOVERNMENT.. ITS ABOUT THE $$$$
So if you criticize the Russian gov you may lose your business. Don't criticize the Russian gov and the US UK government will take your shit.🤔
Well, i think this man is been hard done by, very unfair by the, British government 😮
I think PHI is my favorite yacht. And a steal at 38 million
They should sell them all off.
UK gvt digging the absolute bottom. This country will not last very long I am afraid.
Any idea what the owner may do from here - or what their appetite to hold the ship may be? It seems possible that Phi could be held there until the war in Ukraine is resolved (years?). Does the owner just cut losses or ?
Yes the vessel will stay there until the war is over and the Russian leadership changes, and that could be a while, in the meantime it's possible the 10 crew will walk, and the owner can't do anything, it's a giant loss , and the vessel will just stay there unattended,
you cant win over any government
No better than the ones they try to sting
I’d love to get Benjamin Maltby’s take on the Phi UK court decision.
The rationale cited seems flimsy at best, and from a practical standpoint, insofar as the British government maintains that stance….just put the guy on the sanctions list if he’s such a bad boy….
Re:Tinkoff, like most wealthy Russians, he’s been moving $ out of Russia for 20+ years. Even if you believe his “I had to sell my bank for 3 cents on the dollar” claim, he still has hundreds of millions in assets around the world. And that’s if you believe his claim, which you probably should not. Even before the invasion, valuing Russian companies has been extremely difficult. Ask Bill Browder!
What a load of bullshit, one of the biggest and most expensive Yacht was here in cyprus, when it went ot Italy they took it off him too .
The UK government is going to be a little hard to beat in the UK court's...lol. That poor guy is never going to be able to get that yaught out of that bind. This has turned into a big pony show. ..
