Glad to see The Ole B Out Working on the Farm Best was Watching Grampa and Grandsons Planting Sweet Corn The Old Way Glad to See Farming Past Down and Hopefully They Teach Their Children and Grandchildren Also Blessings and Please Be Safe ✌️
Glad your planting is on the move. I've run duals on the 656 for years using the drill and planter. Gives a smoother ride and helps float through soft spots.
I farm vicariously through you you remind me of my father farmed with whatever equipment would get the job done had several brands of tractors Oliver John Deere Massey Harris Ford Allis Chalmers Minneapolis Moline we had 75 Holsteins he loved farming just as you do and raised his 6 kids to enjoy farming also
On the old 2 row planter, at the end of the row, when you pick it up, the wheels were still turning and you could see if corn was dropping out! Don't be loke my Brother, he planted 25 acres, and when it came up, it was every other row! So, I got investigating the planter, and he shiered a pin in the drive gear- And he says- I was wondering why I never had to put corn in the other hopper 🤣! So we went and strattled the rows he planted to plant the rows he missed! It's funny now as you look back! Tell Allen I see he's finally got a good tractor on the farm!
They should have had 2 cylinders on the 4 and 6 row 7000’s. It takes so much pressure to lift them. Definitely one of the biggest issues for those good Ol planters.
Use the monitor if ya can. Mine died few years ago and I've had the seed belts break, chains ya can't see come off, can't remember what else. Stuff ya can't see well but monitor would tell ya
Hi Alan, boy that’s some really stoney ground you have, even after all the rock picking, would it be worth hiring in a destoner every 5 years. That way you could spread the cost more efficiently, it would give you more uniform emergence and a decent increase in the yield of your fields, the way that planter was rocking around, you planting depth must be all over the place, Still love all your videos though,
Is that JD a D or what is it? My grandpa had two JD tractors like that one, we still have them, the D is at my farm and my brother has the A, their both 49 models, I probably never use a monitor, I'm kinda old school 🚜
My Great grandpa bought the farm in 1951. Although my family lived off the farm, we spent most of our time here, helping my grandpa when he took it over from his dad.
I see you have 26,000 subscribers. If 15,000 would give you $ 5.00 that would be $ 75,000 for a lot newer and better tractor. And maybe one other implement you need bad WHAT DO YOU FOLKS THINK ?
What makes you think he needs a newer and bigger tractor? It appears his crops are being planted and harvested in a timely matter. A 35 cow dairy operation sure doesn't justify a $75,000 tractor.
Yes please pray for rain for the whole state of Minnesota
Love the sound of a John Deere B. Grew up cultivating and raking hay with one just like that.
Most of us in PA are going on week #6 without rain
It sure is pretty up your way….. I love all the birch trees!!
Yes Donald, I noticed the birch trees also. You know you are "up North" when you see the birch.
Love the sound of the old Johnny Popers
Not as nice as a marshal
The JD 7000 was one of if not the best planter built
Had a lifting problem with my 706. Replaced and upgraded the relief valve. Works great now.

Glad your planting is on the move. I've run duals on the 656 for years using the drill and planter. Gives a smoother ride and helps float through soft spots.

See the oats coming up. I got a 1750 4 row 30 inch no-till planter. Have the markers set up the same way.

We need to have that prayer answered. We
Have not had 5 inches here in SE NEBRASKA in the last 12 months.
That green tractor sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders.
Looks like the trail needs some trimming out when time allows.
We needs room rain here too in my part of Ontario, Canada.
Love it when everyone works together
Nice tractor
The 1256 looks like a beast with the Duals on 💪💪
Hope you get your Corn in and then it rains 👌
the old Popping Johnny sure sounds good. I remember as a kid next farm over had one.

Praying for rain. Same situation here. Seems like it rains close to here but we don't get it. Pastures not regrowing.
Haven’t had rain here in something like a month. Not good
It’s dry here also. NE Iowa
WE ALL COULD USE THE RAIN 😅 !!!!

Does your silage cutter take the j knives and have a blower. we are cleaning out a shed
My forage chopper is a New Holland 790, it has a blower but I don't think it has j knives.
Silver queen sweet corn?
Yes, and another kind too

You may have told this did you grow up on this Farm

Hi Jenn does your father not have his own farm!!!
My mom is having a lot of health issues, so my parents are on the farm with us now so he could retire and spend time with her.
Nice family! God Bless!
