God, I feel kind of exposed with the backup plan job 😄. My first choice was to be a band teacher, and if that didn’t work, I wanted to try being a singer. Well, I didn’t last more than a semester at college, and while I still did some music after dropping out, I let that dream go dormant. I do have some regrets on that happening, but it gave me a chance to do a lot of necessary growing. After coming out the other side of depression in the early days of 2019 (January 25 of that year will forever hold my heart), I realized that I’m nothing without music, and I’m not ready to be nothing just yet. It’s hard getting back in the habit of practicing now that I have a guitar I want to learn on, and the thought of doing what you and BVB do is moderately terrifying, but I won’t let that douse my fire. Thank you so, so much for all you do, Lonny. You’re an incredible human being. 💛

Seven Nation Army as the first song learned on bass doesn’t surprise me much. That song revolves around the bass and I love it! The bass doesn’t get enough appreciation. Thankfully, Seven Nation army is an easy song to play, even on the flute too.

You got this! Just work super hard at it every day, learn as much as you can, and don’t give up through the tough times which will inevitably happen. At the end of each day you should be able to go to sleep listing at least one thing you did that day to help you get closer to your goal. If you can do that then you’re on the right track.
I would say just check out beginner guitar tutorials on RUclips. So many amazing teachers on RUclips. Just search “beginner guitar lesson” and you’ll be amazed at all the search results. Best of luck! 👍🏻

Hey Lonny I have a question. Have you ever tried the PRS Grainger Basses? I know you love the kingfishers and kestrels. I'm possibly looking at a kestrel. You guys rock! wish I could have seen you in Denver. Maybe next time though.
Hey Zacky, I have tried a Grainger once. It was very well built and an extremely high quality instrument. Too many knobs for my liking though. I prefer the plug & play simplicity of the SE models. For me they work just fine, and priced under $1000 you can’t go wrong. They feel pristine. Kestrel will give you more of a jazz bass Flea type sound, Kingfisher is closer to a precision bass. More thumpy and handles gain better in my opinion.
@@LonnyEagletonMusic good to hear you tried them. I’m more used to more knobs. I have always used Jackson basses like their Kelly bird basses which have 5 knobs. But yes simple basses are great. With the kestrel I could put emg pickups in it. Personally I prefer them. I’ve seen guys play thrash metal with jazz basses lol. I think it’s sounds cool. I do consider the kingfisher as a a better idea. I would honestly love a signature kingfisher from you and prs. That would be a cool idea.

Yeah I was actually considering putting EMGs into mine as well. I know Robert Trujillo to use jazz basses a lot, so it’s definitely doable!
