Great to hear your voice again,Bobby. I've learned so much by watching your "experiments" and I have gone back to your older videos during the last few months to refresh my memory on various aspects of what you have done.with a particular system, technique or variety. Yep, I've missed new videos, but I've re-watched a lot of previous videos. Thanks for all you do and my very best wishes to you and Susan.
Thank you for your faith and your videos. They have been a blessing to myself and many more I am sure. I have learned a lot from what you are doing. Thanks again, and may God continue to Bless you and your ministry.
good to see a video again, with over 100k subscribers & 10 million views you have one of the top gardening channels & its because you are both a good gardener & are a natural for videos, with that talent it is your responsibility to use it for everyone's good, so keep em coming, you are missed this last year.
sure am glad to see you back. Like everyone else I was afraid something had happened to you. I have to tell you that I showed my dad (77 years old) your dutch bucket system and he is trying it this year. Thanks for all the GOOD information, And very glad to see you back!
I don't believe I've ever commented on your videos but want to tell you that I have and do check out your videos often. You're informative in a simple way! Thanks
So glad to see you back! I just got into gardening this year. After I found your videos, you inspired me to put up a green house in March. I built a dutch bucket system and I am having great success following your advice. I started all my plants, cuckes, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos, and Kratky lettuce from seed, and had wonderful luck. Please stay in touch with us and just let us know you're still kickin. God bless you sir.
Hello my name is Jeff I'm from Wisconsin and I have watched your vids all winter long. Well in January I bought a 10 x 12 foot greenhouse from Harbor freight and in first part of April I put it up. Well I took all the Info that you had on your vids and installed the Dutch bucket system, I planted it in mid April and all I can say is WOW. For the last two weeks I have been harvesting Green peppers, Sweat banana peppers, Sweet 100s tomato's and bloody butcher tomato's and 4 weeks ago I harvested 20 heads of Red romaine and green romaine lettuce. Well a green house is like a garage they are never big enough so in mid May I built a 18 x 14 hoop house and I need to build a bigger hoop house for next year, thinking about a 40 foot by 20 foot. Well in my new hoop house I have about 30 pepper plants that are about 4 feet tall putting out all kinds of peppers and about 20 tomato plants about 6 feet tall and 16 cucumber plants. Well I just want you to know that everything that I am harvesting right now I would not be picking until the end of October and that's if the frost did not kill it. I did manage to find some Scotch Bonnet pepper plants and some Ghost pepper plants but that was just luck because the owner of the greenhouse said that they were sent to him on accident from his supplier and these are doing very well, about 2 and a half feet tall and full of fruit. Do you know where I can find some Trinidad's seeds I have looked everywhere for them, are scorpions and Trinidad's the same pepper? Well I just want to say thanks for all the info and your great vids. Thanks Jeff from Wisconsin.
Thank you for taking time to post these videos. They are appreciated. I bought several peppers and tomatoes from the box store and started them in the Dutch buckets this year. I may have stunted them a little bit by washing off all the soil that was on the roots with a hose before planting in the Vermiculite but now they are growing like gang busters. Thanks again for the tip.
Glad you are back Bobby! My greenhouse is successful because of your helpful and informative videos! Thank you for all your hard work! I have 6 dutch buckets and 13 Kratky totes, and they are doing fantastic! I bought all my kale, Jalapenos, Red Bell Peppers, Beef Master and Big Boy tomatoes, in 6 packs. I rinsed the potting soil off and planted them in Pearlite/Dutch buckets, Clay Pellets/net pots/Kratky totes. My Pak choi, I grew from seeds and they are doing well. All are being fertilized with the 20-18-38 nutrient solution. I even use the same solution in my raised beds, on a weekly basis. The tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, onions, jalapenos, Loofah Sponge plants, Okra, and bell peppers love it! Thanks again!!!!
Welcome back Bobby! So glad to see a new video from you. You have been a gardening inspiration to me. Went from no garden this spring to having both normal and hydroponic gardens now and bigger plans for next year. Thanks for all your teaching delivered in your easy going manner.
I'm sure EVERYONE would say it is so good to see you back!!! I just hope it's not 8 months before we see you again................WE ALL LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!
Happy Independence Day, and very glad to see that your not dead and still making videos. I am growing my very first 7 dutch bucket system in my newly constructed 10x10 greenhouse here in the Pacific Northwest, and 5 of my 7 tomato plants were started exactly like you demonstrated....right out of the plastic pack and into the perlite. I have 2 Roma tomato plants that look like they are on pace to give me the largest Roma tomatoes I have ever seen in my life. This works great. You and Brock Hughes were my inspiration to undertake this endeavor. Peace from Lynden WA.
Bobby and Susan, Thanks for all the great videos. They inspired my husband and I to have a small hydroponics farm for our retirement years. We learned so much from you and will be opening our little store in a couple of weeks. We are also missing your videos and wonder how your garden has grown this year. God bless you.
Once again a very informative video! Glad your gardening effort is giving you some good snacks. We just got our greenhouse built and the plastic is going up this week. Can't wait to try some/all of your gardening tricks. Glad to see you and Susan back 'online' Hope you have a good weekend!
good to see ya back dude, took ur system and made some nice maters, like urs, the heat and leaf mold is getting tough, but still rolling right along. i never dreamed 7 plant would use that much water. thx for your direction
Always good to see your videos Bobby. I like heirloom tomatoes. Oxheart, beefsteak, boxcar willie, giant Belgium. I don't buy plants from big box stores because most of the plants are sold by Monsanto because they purchased Seminis and a bunch of other seed companies. Vote with your dollars!
hi bobby, great to see ya back and happy 4th to you too. i'm trying your dutch buckets right now and my neighbors can't believe all the tomatos they're eating, thanks to you. and the divas are great too. who woulda ever thought i could grow so much, surely not me. take good care, and thank you so much for what you've taught me.
Bobby, Thanks for the video! We moved to FL from NH, Just getting back into gardening. Trying to adjust to the diff growing times in SW FL. I am building your float hydro system for lettuce this week. Thank you so much for all the informative help. Your videos are exceptional.
Hi Bobby and welcome back, I would first like to thank you for the inspiration that helped me to try growing things. I never had any success growing anything, but after watching your videos I decided to try again. I built a greenhouse and using your dutch buckets I am growing tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and melons all using the same solution you suggested for tomatoes. They are all growing like crazy!!!! I have also built a A frame strawberry tower with a drip system that holds 60 plants, they making berry's like no tomorrow! Also using the Kratky method I am growing lettuce and some herbs. Finally using a ebb and flow method I am growing carrots, beets, onions, flowers and strawberry's (from A frame runners) Not every thing I tried worked but I tried. The thing that presented the greatest problem was using the drip system (leaks, keeping tubes in the net pots and emitters clogging) but all in all its growing great thanks to you and I mean that!
Thank you Bobby for sharing all of your knowledge on the dutch bucket and Kratkey method of gardening. So excited. My wonderful husband is going to set up both systems for me for my Birthday this week. I live in North TX and I plan on planting the plants in the beginning/end of March. He will have it ready to go after the first frost. We both love watching your video's. Keep the video's coming. Thank you and God Bless. P.S. Praying for Trump to lead our country in the right direction and to win in 2016.
Holy Mata Sandwich...!! These videos got me through some long winters..!! One or two vids a month is a good pace. RUclips burnout is very popular... They never get old, and the work is well appreciated by all.. Lord Willin'..
It is so good to see you back, I have learned so much from your past videos. I'm even thinking of starting my own greenhouse this summer for next year. Lookin' real forward to seeing (and learning more)!
Bobby, I'm one of those who has had many failures starting from seed, thankfully I think I've gotten past that. I've tried a couple different approaches with plants from the box store and plants from nurseries. With tomatoes when I wash the soil mix off the plants using clean, chlorine free filtered water, I get a much larger root ball, faster growth, bigger and sweeter fruit. With peppers I don't see any difference. Have no clue why that is, but thought I'd toss that out there along with my congrats to the both of you.
Great to see you, Bobby! Glad to see that the whiteflies haven't taken over the greenhouse like they did mine! I have Rutgers on my to grow list in hydroponics this fall, along with Brandywine red as some new varieties to go along with the usual Big beef, Campari, and better boy!
Hi Bobby, this is the time I am on your channel. I watched a beautiful video, about your green house, and your giant tomatoes, and peppers. I am not so new to gardening , but very interested in eventually building a greenhouse. Can you put up some recent videos, about how to build a greenhouse, or any new water based growing. Also love that you are now in association with that wonderful Susan. Bless you both
Yes .. Its good to see you back! Every week or so I been looking for one of your videos. Hope all is well and good with you. Good Lord Willing I'll see you again
Many of our starts this winter have come from the nurseries Bobby. Just kept forgetting to get new seeds in on time ;-) Cheers Bobby & hope all's well mate.
Hi, I'm a little bit confused. Have you stopped shooting gardening videos since this dutch bucket video? Your videos have been a great resource for me to learn about growing my own food. Would be very sad if you stopped doing that!
Welcome back MHP...\o/ Thanks for the new video. I was forced to try this with rosemary since I had no luck getting any seeds to germinate. I did wash all the dirt off however and it did work so now I have a plant to clone from that sits in my kitchen window. Good to know you don't even have to mess with it and just pop them in. Man those lettuce heads should get entered into some contest or something, amazing the size of them. :)
Do my dutch buckets with coir. Have always dutifully washed off the dirt. This year it was just too much hassle so the went in dirt and all....doing great so I agree it seems an unnecessary step with the dutch buckets. Welcome back and congratulations.
Son of a gun man! You can not believe how worried I was that something really bad happened to you. Well, I'm glad to see you're back and hope everythings OK
So glad to see you back! If my eyes do not deceive me I do believe I see a wedding ring on your hand. If that is the case then Congratulations! Don't be a stranger now!
mhpgardener OMG We have to see pictures. Congratulations!!! I am so happy for the two of you. It is so hard doing things on your own. How wonderful that the two of you have someone in your life to help share the burden. Two yoked together with a common goal--as many will understand--sure does make the road easier. Love y'all, Vivian Ann on the side of the mountain in Northeast Tennessee
BOBBY!!!! WELCOME BACK TO PLANET EARTH!! LOVED doing your methods this spring. Had cukes out the wazoo!! Fed the neighbors and still had left overs for pickles. Broccoli did great and starting my 3rd run. Kratky still doing good for Collard greens.- HOWEVER, like Adrian Glessner below - had HUGE tomato plants, plenty of flowers, but NO fruit. Had beef steak and Beefmaster and the 6 biggest ones were about the size of a tennis balls when they turned red. Really bummed. Cherry tomatoes produced, but not too many. We had a few of our local Girl Scout troop come out and take a look at our system last March. The younger ones were so perplexed as to why "the dirt" was white. Thanks, Bobby, and Lord willin', we saw you again!
i experimented with growing onions with the kratky system and they are coming out fantastic.i used 4" net pot and the onions are 4"now,planted them 5/4 in Connecticut. pushed out a lot of the hydroton but it has not affected the growth.i started with the onion plants from home depot.
Hey Bobby, glad to see you back. I did a 12 bucket system in the front yard this Spring and in one I put a California Wonder Bell Pepper. I also had one in a 5 gallon Kratky Bucket, and one in dirt in my neighbors garden. The one in the Dutch Bucket FAR and AWAY did better than the other two methods. I used the Masterblend as you have recommended in the past. I will post pics on my google plus tomorrow. Happy Hillbilly Hydroponics. Check it out if you get a chance. Glad to see you back online. Hang in there.
How can you not like this guy... I ordered some masterblend from Morgan County seeds. I asked her a few questions about masterblend. She was very helpful. P.S she said this guy on you tube has us in his video. I told her well that guy just got me to buy off you. She sounded thankful. Nice people to talk to. Hopefully I can do better with this masterblend. Always having some kind of toxicity or deficiencies with the GH flora series :( hard to dial in
Bobby! Buddy, I've been wonderin' where you got off to! Now I see a wedding ring and a tiny bit of belly on ya, ain't that a fine thing! So happy for ya, we all knew you both belonged together, bout time you snatched her up permanently! Good to see you back again, and your plants looking so good too, but I gotta say, you sure nuff made me hungry watchin you eating those tomatoes, lol. Good deal buddy, glad to have ya back!

Welcome back Bobby! Looking good.
Bigelow Brook Farm (Web4Deb) Just gonna piggyback here with Rob and say Welcome back, and hope so see more videos soon.
Bigelow Brook Farm (Web4Deb) what is the tomatoes solution and where did you get it? thank you! love your videos!
no solutions. We grow with aquaponics.
Bigelow Brook Farm (Web4Deb) ok what do you mean? just water and light?
the fish waste provides the nutrients. Plus we add a little iron, potassium, and calcium once in a while.
i experimented with growing onions with the kratky system and they are coming out fantastic.i used 4" net pot and the onions are 4"now,planted them 5/4 in Connecticut. pushed out a lot of the hydroton but it has not affected the growth.i started with the onion plants from home depot.
Glad to see your back, now if only you'd get back to posting vids, hope your new life is going well:)
Welcome back Bobby! Good to see you again man!
Dave Sizemore Sounds like you have it all figured out. Glad it's working well for you.
Velcome back! Its fantastic to see a new video fom you. Great vido! :):):)
I was just thinking about you. Have not seen you in a long time. Hope to see more videos soon.
Great to see you back, happy 4th of July.
Always having some kind of toxicity or deficiencies with the GH flora series :( hard to dial in
Great video hope that you come back to make those awesome videos that you do.
Do you ever grow tomatoes from suckers? They root fast and you end up with plenty throughout the years.
