After a 2.5 year hiatus, I finally go back into fly tying and fishing this spring. Yesterday, this pattern fooled a 20" brown in my local waters, my biggest fish in almost 3 years. This may become my new confidence pattern. Previously it was your simple crane fly larva. Thanks again for another great pattern!

Ha ha! The Tungsten Rainbow Dart - if I didn't know any better, I'd think that, with your tongue planted firmly in your cheek, you were having a lend of us there Tim.
The reality is that I know the Dart, the Warrior and the Surveyor all function perfectly here in South Eastern Australia. I'll be sure to have a little further fun winding up my mates with this one. Thanks again Tim.

I have watched a lot of your videos and just now realize how good they really are. Your editing, narration, and camera work are really, really good. You some how show the entire process in a quick way that doesn't feel rushed or under explained. I've always love your videos but never really thought about why till this one. Thanks for making all theses awesome videos.

You have the most concise, no-nonsense tying videos going. One question/observation though; it looks as though the wing case would be under the fly when in action. Is this intentional? A quick 180 degree rotation before tying the mylar in would remedy that and not be overly difficult. Keep up the brilliant tying tutorials.

Always great vid. A note on bead headed fly's in general, if have a tie that "want to do" and have no bead that has the right slot for it, invest in a cheapie dremel tool and the thin cutting blades and can slot any bead at all to fit.

So how did this fly work on the water for you? Love this fly combo as it is very similar to the red dart.

Looks like a great fly! Is there a particular reason you prefer to use peacock herl as opposed to UV peacock ice dub for the thorax? Asking out of curiosity.

Just for looks Jay. I have a hard time resisting natural peacock herl. The drop of UV cure on top, helps make it a bit more durable.

I need some of that tightline productions peacock herl😀! Then I would actually catch fish.
