DRIVING IN HISTORIC ELMWOOD CEMETERY MEMPHIS

...this is a short ride through a historic garden cemetery that dates to 1852. Residents include everything from Governors, Senators, and Mayors to slaves. From Civil War generals and soldiers to yellow fever victims and victims of the Sultana steamboat disaster. Many state and county Champion tree specimens are located here and the entire cemetery is certified as a level 1 arboretum due to the high number of plant and tree species within.
