@deni_sunderly I'm still going to miss Splash Mountain. It has my heart, but there are definitely things I like better about Tianas Bayou adventure, and there are definitely things that are better with Splash Mountain. It's just a ride, after all. This will win my heart too.

Appreciate the review! Can’t wait to ride next month!! I didn’t experience Disney World growing up. So the attachment people have to Splash Mountain, I don’t. We even remarked our last trip before it was closed, that it was extremely worn down and kinda lack luster.

any secret nods to the old attraction hidden in there? I am curious what they will do with the small area as you enter that allowed for small children to play in while waiting for those family members enjoying the attraction. I agree with you regarding the point you made how it is not scary for kids compared to Splash. I heard the end smells like Ben-Yays! (that's my fun spelling) Is that true? Thank you Deni for bringing us along.

The story seemed easier to follow on Mickeys runaway , which is unfortunate. Tianas bayou adventure had better animatronics, though. All I'm trying to say is don,t let it ruin your entire vacation
DENI!!!! You MADE this ride. I, too, had read all of the negative "storyline" narratives on line, but goodness, girl--you showed all of those details that make the story. This was, by far, the best vlog I've seen so far on the attraction. Well done, you!

I find the videos. I’m watching now a bit boring I think it could’ve been more than just finding a band. There’s no thrill to the ride. There’s no suspense but then again that’s just my opinion. The music is fine. It is very full, but I don’t see it as a thrill ride.
Lewis jaw malfunction in the bayou adventure is a problem can you guys fix it
I heard its dark in there. Are the the scenes brighter than pirates of the caribbean?

of cheaply painted wooden walls - no. More walls - empty boxes - dark spaces with nothing in them. It’s cheap. Tiana deserved better.

Wow! Just listened to the end song on the ride Special Spice and it is WAAAAYYYY too close to the song from Journey into Imagination.
"Splash Mountain filled me with dread"
You mean the ride designed with a big 50 foot drop at the end purposefully paced its story around hyping up that final drop? That wasn't a problem with the ride, that's the ride doing quite literally exactly what it was designed to do. Stripping the tension and suspense away is quite literally the biggest reason I don't think this version works as well; it feels more like a Disney Junior special than a true thrill ride.
just watched the opening of the Frozen Ride at Disney Sea in Japan. That is so superior to the Tiana's Bayou. There are more animatronics, better scenes and a better story which is in line with the movie. Also, they didn't take Anna and Elsa and put them in hiking outfits but left them in the beautiful outifts they had in the movie. Disney did not do Tiana justice at Disney World. It could have been so much better. You can tell that the Disney parks in Japan are not owned by the Disney Company. They are better run and new attractions are popping up and done correctly, the way Walt Disney used to do things

I personally find this conversion pretty lame. The storyline isn't strong and I missed some of the most important characters and the music isn't great either. I remember that I was singing Zippadeedoda for days after my visit. Although the animatronics are great, you annot miss the empty spaces and dull moments in between. I miss the old Splash already. Love your vlog though ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Deni! I had high hopes for this new ride but unfortunately, I agree with Bob Iger himself about the experience. He said the ride is completely lackluster and incredibly boring. I feel that the storyline as well as the new music falls flat and the Imagineers totally missed the mark for this.... Stick to the original story and plot, keep the villain with the music and songs we already know and love! It's getting universally panned everywhere because it is not better than the previous ride, nor even equal to Splash Mountain, and it is essentially a downgrade for most. This new upgraded version of Wilderness Tiana feels like a very bad sequel we never asked for or wanted, which ultimately ends up going straight to Disney+ or home video.

I think before the big drop, Dr. facilier should be there instead of Mama Odie. Imagine the spirit chant, are you ready? Are you ready? That would built the excitement.
