I discovered Skippers on a solo trip in 2016. I entered the park and felt I needed a caffeine fix but did not want to stand in line for Starbucks overpriced HOT beverage. So I walked towards Adventureland to see if the beverage cart was open. It was not. I continued into Adventureland and was passing skippers. There were guests around waiting to get In. On a whim I asked the hostess if I could get an immediate table for one. She said yes because the restaurant had not opened yet . That was the reason for the crowd. So I got right in. It was the best dining I had had at magic kingdom since before when the castle restaurant was king Stephan’s dining hall and was a full scale fine dining experience. I’m glad Skippers exists.
Just found you and love your energy! Feels authentic rather than that strange American too happy voiceover people that feel like they’re always reading from a prompter? ❤
Great review! I ate there a few years back on a solo trip. I absolutely loved it! I sat in the same seat y’all had and I had the same dish Brian had. It was a wonderful experience through and through. I can’t wait to take my wife and kids on our next trip. I will definitely be trying that app (that I’m not even going to attempt to spell out!).
I have eaten at Skipper Canteen many times. On one occasion, I ordered the noodle dish and it was too salty to eat. The server quickly replaced the meal with the pork dish which was delicious as usual. The noodle dish does change often but that particular version of the dish I had in the past and it was good. It was just this one time the salt content was high. My server handled the situation beautifully so even then I had no complaints. I do recommend this restaurant. As a side note. I ordered the orange drink last time I was there and thought I would not it like the drink but I really enjoyed it.
Found myself rewinding and pausing, more than once, to write down "Pao de Queijo" to look up a recipe. (Is it in one of the Disney Cookbooks?) The menu looked wonderful, especially since my wife and I love to try exotic and new dishes. (What's the point of going to Adventureland if one is not going to have an adventure?) I have never dined at this establishment, but, having watched this video, it's a goal. Thank you for the heads up!!!
We liked Skipper canteen last September, one of the apps was unusual and delicious. The noodles were spicy and my son really liked it. We all had a great time
Skipper Canteen is like a wonderful oasis of AC and escape in the MK. We've always had the most fun Skippers, getting into their roles, and mostly good food. We did get to sit at the butterfly table our first time. and those books in the library are hilarious!. Your review is inspiring us to book it for our Oct trip!
Sadly we just got back from a trip and ate there after awhile of not and we didn't find as good as the experience as you had. Our server didn't check in with us very much.. However, I found the chef came to our table and was very kind with an allergy.
Over the years I have come to appreciate channels like yours as opposed to the “ millions of followers” channels that in my mind are trying to keep viewers by saying everything about Disney is gold! I like the more casual personal experience videos like this one. Well done! I will watch your Tiana review…… but I have a feeling I will disagree! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ 🤣🤣we love what we love!
Same here, Deni. It's a must for us every trip! Have you ever had the Curried Vegetable Crew Stew? I'm not even 100% plant based and it's my favorite dish there!! And for those with kids who avoid this place for their sake: our daughter's favorite Mac n cheese on property is here at Skipper Canteen!!
My husband and I ate here. The theming was cute, but the food was awful. My meal was cold and rubbery. I actually had to send my food back and I chose an appetizer instead. That was not much better. We would never eat here in the future on any of our yearly trips.
Hi Deni,
Skipper Canteen is the best overlooked restaurant in MK. KUNGALOOSH!
Been a fan since you were on DIS.

We’ve eaten here twice. We love it. We always get in right on time. Everyone remembered the noodle bowl and ordered it. It was great.
I went there on my last trip and got the pork. So good!!
our fav is the Falafal falls and capachas! we split those and a salad and are stuffed.
Oooooooo the noodle bowl with shrimp looks wonderful! I really want to try that dish!
Thanks for bringing us along, Deni! 💜
It really was delicious.😊
Always wanted to try this place...It all looked wonderful! I may have to try it next time we are at Magic Kingdom
Assuming this one to my list to try! Thanks, Demi!! 😀

I’m so glad that you enjoyed it, Frank!
Thank you Deni! What a timely review! Ive never eaten there but want to try it; its on my dining list for when we go this September... 🙂
I hope that you enjoy it!
Would you share your recipe for the bread?
We ate there in May. I had the fish with veggies. OMG!! It was so, so good!!!
Right?!! yum!!!

I love eating there and the menu being themed, I really like when the food matches the restaurant's theming
When at the magic kingdom park always Liberty tree tavern. 🙂
❤️
Hubs is a very picky eater so we always end up eating at one of the other restaurants. We've done Tony's, Crystal Palace, and Liberty Tree Tavern.
This is a must do for us! We like a sit down dinner while we are in the parks and I feel like Skipper’s has the best food in MK!
A must if you're vegan!! If you're vegan this is the place in Magic Kingdom to get a decent filling meal :)
Hi Deni!! Have dined there many times!! Delicious and so much fun!! Our MK go-to!!

I’ve never had the stew! I’m so glad that you enjoy it. And how cool is it that Skipper canteen has your daughter’s favorite mac & cheese?!❤️
We went to Skipper Canteen on our last visit. Everything was fantastic there, would definitely recommend.
I haven’t been there in years. The place is worth going, but maybe not every trip to Magic Kingdom. Is the hike to the bathroom still 10 miles?
We do enjoy Skipper Canteen! It is a choice we often make, I also like Liberty Tree--yes to Thanksgiving anytime
We so enjoyed Skipper Canteen. It was almost like dinner and a show because our server was so funny. Excellent restaurant!
FYI, the closed captions say that drink is $99.50 - I found that so funny. 😀
LOL now that’s a pricey drink!🤣🤣🤣
We ate at Skipper Canteen one of the last times we visited the Magic Kingdom. We enjoyed our meal.We would return.
I’m so glad that you enjoyed it!❤️

That’s a shame about your cheese bread😢 Usually Skipper’s has my favorite ❤ Such a fun restaurant though 🎉
We have eaten there twice and have enjoyed it both times
