  • I Went on a vacation trip and decided to reset the travel computer
on my Renault Megane 1.5 DCI to see the performance, the average fuel consumption per 100 km, and how much it will consume.

My results in the same car (Megane grandtour 1.5 dCi, 110 hp) are as follows: normal average holiday trip (mosty motorway speed 120-130 km/h, some city driving) - 4,4 l/100 km; my best result (about 600 km also mostly on motorway but a bit slower, around 115 km/h) was 3,8 l/100 km. In terms of fuel consumption this engine is amazing. Greetings from Poland Bro!

Great result and definitely a comfy ride.
My recent trip Stuttgart to Milan and back:
    - around 1200km
    - 1.4 TCe 96kW
    - Megane III Coupé
    - 7.7l/100km
    - 85 km/h average speed
Quite an ok result considering lots of elevation change.
    Thanks for the great content!

Consuption on 1.5dCi is great! Evene more spirited or harder driving does not effect it too much. Last year did a drive to ZG in december. Went on highway 150km/h and a lot of hard accelerations (downshifting to 5th) and close to Vmax lol. Drove few hours in Zagreb holiday traffic and came back home. AVG speed 65km/h and 6.9l AVG cons. Thinking of remapping my 81kw tho.

on my Megane 1.4TCe 130hp, when driven most of the fuel tank empty and refueling, the 'fuel used' part on the dash actually counts 2-3 liters more than actually used. So you might have driven a bit more economical if that's the case with your car too.

Dosta mogu utjecati vremenski uvjeti, tlak u gumama ako nije optimalan i naravno težina tereta. Je li u autu bilo više ljudi i prtljaga?

Prosjek bude oko 7l cak i bez nekog znacajnog pazenja. Ista ruta dakle, nju smo vozili prije kupnje Megana kada bi isli na selo. Tlak u gumama nisam provjeravao od kupnje, tu bi mogao biti koji decilitar u igri.

Mine real (not the trip computer's one) average is 5,25l/100km. I 've driven roughly 35K kms, mostly on motorways. In most cases i drive alone on motorway for 550kms per trip. And the real avg consumption is around 5,5l/100km with an average speed of circa 80km/h because the trip also contains a portion of city driving. But while on the motorway i am doing mostly 110-120km/h amd mostly with ac on. It's not bad, but not anything spectacular either, it's the hatchback and not the grandtour version after all. When i am on country roads it can easily get less than 5l/100km, around 4,8 mostly. I believe that it lacks power on speeds higher than 100km/h and thats why on motorway it consumes considerably more. I am not happy with the lack of power at these speeds as well. Thought of remapping but havent made my mind yet if i will do it eventually or not. It already has driven 125K kms and i am a bit sceptical. I 've had my previous car remapped for over 150K kms without any issues though.

    • @BbrosAuto
      @BbrosAuto  8 месяцев назад

Wow, thanks for the detailed comment. Totally agree about the lack of power at a certain point. I never did the remap and thought about it several times lately. So, it's worth it? How much power do you actually get? How does the car work at lower speeds, in the city?
