THIS EPISODE
After finally getting to drive through Monument Valley which has been on our list for forever, we headed to see Lake Powell for the first time and did some beach camping - also a first for us!
Our Instagram friends, @weventuretogether saved us a spot for the night and guided us through the safe spots in the sand at Lone Rock Beach. We stayed for the night and claimed a prime spot the next morning when some other campers left. Sometimes a little patience will get you the best campsite!
Eric mentioned that they were going on a kayak trip to the back enterance of Antelope Canyon where you could then hike miles into the slot canyons and invited us to join. We brought our Intex Explorer K2 Inflatable Kayaks (link above) and ended up having one of the most epic adventures that we have ever experienced!

Mustang Island, 😱 lol the beach, wind and sand! The salt spray kills your paint and causes rust everywhere! Take the bridge not the ferry. We had to ferry everyday for work and it just destroys your tires... IGA on the Island has the best beef. Fun place, great fun and friendly people. Corpus Christi, got to go tour the "LEX" the Lexington aircraft carrier and see the fireworks! No day would be completely without going to a Hooks game. We had to leave and move inland Texas after losing everything during Hurricane Harvey.

First, I'm retired and a part time RVer.
Just today, I saw a video of an older lady who enjoyed being a nomad but now is struggling day to day. The reality is, old age happens sooner than you expect.
Beautiful place and video. The girls are real troopers. So many kids would be bored to death without a phone or access to the outside world. You and Jess are just teaching those girls how wonderful life can be when it's "Better Outside" as I've heard someone say...... lol

Is that lake Powell? We were there this summer! It was about 140 feet low! (Considering it's around 600 feet.. beautiful!! Love that hike! My knee wouldn't make it, so I'm happy trotting along with you!

true story, back in March, the wife and I were at Grand Canyon and I wanted to go to Monument Valley in the worst way. So, even though the lockdown was still in place and the park was closed, some of the locals told us to take the highway around the western edge because you can see a lot of the landmarks. So as we were driving along, I happened to look in the rear view mirror and I yelled "this is it!" Yes, I was suddenly aware of the scene from Forrest Gump and was at the moment right at the marker without realizing it! First place we're going when I retire in February is Monument valleY! Keep up the good work, we love y'alls channel.

I'm so jealous. I haven't been there for a year. We've been to Lake Powell 20 times on our multi-owner houseboat, moored at Wahweap Marina. Powell is the jewel of the country, hands down. I've been all over the country, there's nothing like Lake Powell. Totally amazing place. However, Antelope Canyon hikes you need to be careful with weather. If there are any storm clouds East of the canyon, DON'T GO. It can rain anytime during the summer. In 1997 12 people drown from a flash flood down the canyon, most were from France, 2 from US.
I was super jealous of those hose boats! That’s what we want to do next time we’re out there!
Beautiful! I was watching to see if you'd go to Kanab to get in the lottery for The Wave. That would be epic! Also, I know your feed is several weeks behind where you actually are, but you are so close to Peekaboo and Spookey slot canyons. They are WELL worth the drive down the long dirt road and a grand adventure.
WOW! EPIC! All those colors in the canyon walls were just beautiful! I think I could handle kayaking like that. I felt for the poor girls. I've kayaked in boats like that before, or maybe it was just me. ;-)
We were in Page a few weeks ago. Kayaking Antelope point into a canyon was amazing.

I just found your channel and I am really enjoying it. My family and I have been Roadtrippers for years and recently decided to start saving and planning to get a trailer instead of hotels. It will be a big financial commitment have to not only buy the trailer but also to get a car that can pull it. Your channel is a great glimpse into what I should expect. I just subscribed and will have a lot of videos to get caught up on.

Can you believe the water level is over 70' lower than when we were there? I can't imagine what it must look like. I will be skipping Lone Rock this year. The pups and I are heading to Captial Reef NP tomorrow.
Well add another spot to my list.

Thanks for the the insight. Our list gets longer week after week. I think you guys know we are all for being in nature. So these videos appeal to us. You did well on that aspect with this one. Couple of questions....what is an ultimate burger? Do you now always take light other than your cell phone with on hikes? What camera would you have need for the float back to show what you saw?

Cool movie suggestion: Happy, Texas. Then travel to Marfa, Texas where it was filmed. Stop by the McDonald Observatory in Ft Davis. You’ll find great art in Marfa. Donald Judd has a museum/studio there with some fun installation art. If you go from Page, you can stop at White sans, NM. Make sure to see Prada Marfa and the Marfa lights!

Unplanned, not smart, but epic for sure. We have friends who live in Page and work at Glen Canyon dam. We spent about a week and a half at Wahweap campground a few years ago visiting with them. Such a beautiful area.

I’m so bummed I didn’t have good enough equipment out there! Our eyes adjusted perfectly, the canyon walls we lit up by the moonlight and stars were crazy bright... I’ll capture it next time ! Thank you !

Ultimate burgers what kind of burger is that is that like a impossible burger😁. You guys really have to look into canoe the Kickapoo river that runs thru Rockton Wisconsin if u enjoy the cliffs so much. Thousand of people enjoy the river and hiking mostly the river each year and the country is some of the most beautiful in the state.
