THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I have always loved your honesty & your breakdown of the subject matter. This is PRECISELY what I needed to re-affirm what I've been thinking & seeing during my research for which website to use. I had not heard of Hostinger & I'm so glad I didn't just jump into Big Cartel. I'm not a very techy person & I just don't want to have to get a degree in website building to open a simple online store, so this is GREAT!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!❤❤
I was just reading the Users Agreement on Micheal's today and it appears in their contract that they can copy and sell your content without any payment to you: For any User Content you submit, you grant to Michaels a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, fully paid-up, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable right and license to use, display, perform, transmit, copy, modify, delete, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, sell and distribute such User Content and to incorporate the User Content into any form, medium, or technology, now known or hereafter developed, throughout the world, all without compensation to you. For this reason, do not send us any User Content that you do not wish to license to us, including any confidential information or any original creative materials such as stories, product ideas, computer code or original artwork that you do not wish to license to us.
Hmm, there’s a lot of good information in the video but I do feel it needed to be said that the $2.50/$3.50 pricing for hostinger is with a 48 month plan. The business plan with the features shown in the video is $13.99 per month or $48 for a 12 month sub (at $3.99 a month) which is enticing. I’m still nervous as a complete newbie who has only sold handmade at local markets to put in that investment. I also feel lost regarding shipping costs and order fulfillment. But thank you for the information and resources!
I would suggest to take all of your items to UPS and ask them how much they cost from the furthest place that you live like to California from New York and base your shipping off of that
As a product designer and someone who has a website and tried many platforms, that is very very reasonable. Shipping knowledge comes with time also depending on the shop they can also calculate those things for you based on weights you put in per product and where the customer is shipping to. Though I personally used Shopify for my site.
Even if the website builder doesn't charge a transaction fee there is always going to be a transaction fee from the payment processor (stripe, square, etc), that's just the cost of doing business online with ANY platform. Don't want anyone to be surprised by fees they weren't expecting.
This is a really awesome video. Very informative and thought provoking. I have been trying to create a website from my small business. But I do have some questions. Do I need servers and securities (SQL’s) to create my website? My other question is about the taxes. Do the various state taxes compute when people make a purchase or do I have to put that it when creating my product listing?
It seems to me that closing down a store and not giving a legitimate reason or chance to correct any errors and keeping the money due the seller is theft. Theft of money and theft of services, since etsy sellers do promote etsy at no charge to Etsy. So not only free advertising for Etsy (while their sellers are paying Etsy for advertising) but keeping the money due the business. Being a bully and a thief is not a good look for Etsy.
Yeah, it’s really frustrating when sellers lose their shops and earnings without a fair chance to fix things. That’s why having your own website is so important as it gives you full control over your business instead of relying on a platform that can shut you down without warning. Etsy can be a great tool, but it shouldn’t be your only one!
That Michael's marketplace looks like something I'd be interested in. I'm checking that out. I'm already establish on shopify, otherwise I would have totally checked out your sponsor.
I have a shopify store but I started out on etsy. Etsy is really good at holding your hand and helping along new people. Even when I am ready to post a new product I post it on etsy first and then shopify. And etsy may have a lot of little fees, but most of those little fees come after you have made a sale. If I don't make any sales on etsy for a month, I'll usually pay somewhere between 20 cents to a couple of dollars (listing renewal fees or new listing fees). If I don't make a sale on Shopify, I'm still paying the $39 a month subscription fee.
Totally get that! Starting out can feel overwhelming, but take it one step at a time. There are so many great resources out there, and you don’t have to figure everything out all at once. You've got this!
I've been holding from selling online because I don't feel I gave a really great business idea The rest I'm a firm believer one can learn - even if we do do some doodoo along the way
I totally get that feeling! Sometimes we overthink needing the 'perfect' idea when really, taking action helps us refine things along the way. As you said, we can learn, and mistakes are just part of the process!
Totally get where you're coming from! But email can still work for non-repeat items too-like showcasing new collections, offering VIP perks, or just keeping your brand top of mind. It’s more about relationship-building than just pushing sales.
This is a game changer. I'm so glad I found this video.

Could you do a video on how to get traffic to our website for beginners?

$13.99 per mo or $48 yr is dirt cheap. Take the plunge.
I would suggest to take all of your items to UPS and ask them how much they cost from the furthest place that you live like to California from New York and base your shipping off of that
Google to find out more about them. Not a good place to have a website at all.
What it can do is worth much more

Sounds interesting! How is their SEO & security? Do they offer other features like a blog and or a newsletter? Thx!
Gosh. This video so open minded. thanks a lot for your effort. Really good video. one like from me.
Like from me tooo❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🎉🎉🎉
Golden.Thank you.
Mei, how does Hostinger fare with print on demand integration?
This was my question too!
There is no integration. You would need to order manually.
Even if the website builder doesn't charge a transaction fee there is always going to be a transaction fee from the payment processor (stripe, square, etc), that's just the cost of doing business online with ANY platform. Don't want anyone to be surprised by fees they weren't expecting.
What are the SEO functions with the Hostinger builder? I didn't see fields to edit metadata, though I could just be blind. 😅
You can go into your page settings and edit your SEO meta title and description
Thank you for great info
Thanks for this info, Mei.
Thanks for watching! I hope it was helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing❤.
What about security of these hostinger ai shops? Can they be hacked?
Isn t the money transaction at hostinger with stripe, who costs fee ?

Being a bully and a thief is not a good look for Etsy.
Not only that, people will proclaim they bought something from Etsy, not the actual seller
You can’t sue them for the money either due to their terms and conditions.

How do I own the site if Hostinger generated the site? Can I later upload it to another host?
You don’t own the site. You would have to rebuild a new store from scratch.
And mei what about traffic ? Folllowing and thank you 🎉

I'm already establish on shopify, otherwise I would have totally checked out your sponsor.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the advice
Thank you for watching!
great information as usual. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Can I do both Shopify and hostinger?
Yes. You can own however many websites you want as long as you can afford it and keep track of your inventory.😊
@ okay thank you
Yes! 😊
Im new and it scares me. Not sure how to do this

I thought it, Shopify, only did drop shipping there?
It’s definitely a common misconception, but Shopify can be used for selling your own products too!
I've been holding from selling online because I don't feel I gave a really great business idea

Can I do drop shipping using Hostinger?
II went to the Hostinger website. Did i read incorrectly or do I have to pay 48 months in advance? Also, 48 months is a looooong time!
Email marketing for repeat sales is only useful for things people repeatedly buy.
Totally get where you're coming from! But email can still work for non-repeat items too-like showcasing new collections, offering VIP perks, or just keeping your brand top of mind. It’s more about relationship-building than just pushing sales.
This was literally on my mind this morning, I was searching and you came across my feed thank you❤💯
Two questions? Email Marketing and print on demand like Printify how are these associated with host-singer? Or if any of them will work
Yes, can we I integrate printify with hostinger?
