We go at night stake a bag of bait at just under knee deep water go back to beach for a beer then between each can wade out with bucket head lamp and gloves generally you can get a 20L bucket full per 6pack.
We love to eat them well the ones twice that size.,
take off the back, scrape out the goop, then cut in quarters, fry in butter with curry powder for a few minutes remove and add a can of coconut cream and onions stir to make a sauce then add the crab back in eat with a bib and bowl of water to clean hands its a messy sticky dish that is soooo nice.
Great way to do it :) South Island or North Island? We love eating the bigger ones to. I personally they think they taste better than cray. Just a lot of work but heaps of fun and DELICIOUS!!!
@@Fishingreminder North Island hence not bothering with using as bait.
@@TheBeaker59 I love to eat crabs! I sometimes think they taste sweeter than crayfish😉
i once caught a kahawai with that crab mesh haha so works not just crabs but regular fish too.
haha yeah for sure and believe it or not I have caught a Kahawai on half a crab bait surf casting. I never thought that they would eat crab but they also do when they get a chance.
Some very good tips, thanks.
cheers, glad it was helpful
Awesome vid bro!!!
Glad you liked it
Cheer for the fidy
glad you enjoyed :)
Did you find where your truck water leak was? Mine was leaking around the door strap on the pillar.
yeah mine was leaking about half way down the windscreen on the passenger side. The windscreen probably needs to be taken out and re-seated but for now I squeezed ton of windscreen sealant into the gap and it stopped the leak.
Try to put bait into a lady's nylon stocking. Crabs get stuck onto the stocking.
Good Tip! I've been wanting to try that. Have you had success with it?
Dry using women's stockings
Those nets aren’t effective
why not?
