D-low is definitely going to be very shocked by who made it in and who didn't. At this point I can see half of who he put in the top 8 not in the top 8 based on who I know the judges put through.
Yeah, favoritism has always been a thing in beatbox sadly. It's understandable why it happens, as you would obviously want the most well known people there, but it makes it harder for newcomers too.

It's obvious, we have legend beatboxers but bad judges at this years, there was a huge mistakes in judging, stitch not in top 8, osis doesn't win GBB, undeserved win for Julard etc..

I just want to clarify that it's not the same to judge live on stage as it is through a video where the sound has been edited and adjusted. In fact, when Dlow was a judge during previous GBBs, viewers didn't always agree with his judgment, particularly during the Alem vs Elisii match, just to give you an example. I think it would be better to stop blaming the judges for their decisions. I believe they understand beatboxing far better than we do; let's not forget that almost all of them have been GBB champions, and as a result, they are legitimate to judge.

I felt like that elimination was biased to french, Julard and Alexinho performance couldn't be compared to stitches and they passed and stitches didn't pass 😅
this gives the same energy as PACMax's elim, and honestly PACMax did more. Idk how he ended up so high in the actual placements. I wrote this before seeing Dlow's ranking and its exactly where I would have put it wow. Sign me up as a GBB judge lol
Genuinely one of the worst elims in GBB history... insane. I think the only reason Stitch is hated and Alex got in is because Alex is good at battling, and stitch is kinda only know for elims... The decision should not be made on external biases like, "oh, well this guy can battle and we don't think this one can." It should be purely based on the Elimination.

Also I think he brought a fresh take later in the event which typically does very well vs someone like stitch doing something VERY different but before anyone else has performed. The psychology of humans and their bias is a metric that has both necessary and reductive qualities but thats life hey!

The problem IMO isn't with the judges. It's the lack of opinion diversity. We've got 5 judges who think similarly, that's all. If Dlow had replaced FootboxG for example, Alexinho would still be ~4th overall and we'd still call out the judges. But at the same time, these days with any artform, if you think like everyone else you're a sheep, and when you don't, you're a contrarian who goes "how can I be different today?" So either way you're screwed.

Sorry but sometimes it can objectively not as good as the others. No hate to the artist respectfully. Reckless placements can lead to discouragement to artists who have been preparing for long time, leading to their departure from the scene or future events.
In my own ranking I gave him the Napom treatment in terms of showing much. He already proved several times he is a world class beatboxer so he scored pretty high for me (3rd), because I think it was a unique approach, a very well structured piece, really pleasing to the ear and I also just felt really entertained by his elim. I do absolutely see your points tho I think I was just a lot more "forgiving" because of how much I liked it :D
One question to you, if bly crespley did this routine. Do you think you would give him the same scoring? Art is objective and of course, i give respect to those few individuals that thinks “baby shark” is a world class banger in the music industry.

I ranked him 9th, cuz the beats were patternly simple but hard to do, others i preferred more cuz they were complex and different pallete

I really liked alexinho show, but i didnt put him on my top 8. Pacmax was my 8th because he also bring a really good show but with more flavour
