    Said below, but we could use a Traditional Latin Mass Revival which would solve issues greater than irreverence of the Eucharist.

    It matters, not weather you receive the precious body of Jesus on the tongue or in hand, but what is in your mind and your heart at the time.

      Wrong, because it is a grave sacrilege and offense against God to receive the Eucharist in the hand, which is why lay people were excommunicated for doing so throughout the history of the church

    The Eucharistic revival will only be complete when we no longer touch His precious body with our hands but receive it by the priest's hands, in our mouth and on our knees, in due reverence to Jesus, King of all nations

      @@zelinskymatt I'm torn on this issue, but usually receive on the tongue. Keep in mind, the Apostles at the Last Supper had already been made priests, so how they received could be viewed differently from how the laity receives.

      I agree with you 100000 percent! I watched through the years how taking communion in the hand brought on casualness to the sacrament. Ive even witnessed people playing with it in thepews.

      @@zelinskymatt oh so communion with the King of the Universe is like any regular dinner to you, so use your hands to touch what is the holiest of holies? How do you know that Jesus didn't place the unleavened bread directly in their mouth? The Bible doesn't specify, so we don't know. God requires us to respect and fear Him. Paul warned that those who received an unworthy communion had gotten sick or had died. Now that's proper food for thought.

    The Holy Eucharist is Holy, regardless if one chooses to receive in their hands or on their tongue. And when we receive Our Lord Himself, our hearts will be contrite and in the state of grace. This is the Why, as the "how" matters not, unless Mother Church determines otherwise. Focus on the Interior, not the exterior. ❤🕊

    • @IarwainBenAdar
      @IarwainBenAdar Год назад +1

      The Eucharist is holy, therefore, we should treat it like it is holy. What you say is partly right, we should focus on the "why" and the interior, but the "how" comes from the "why" and the exterior represents the interior. These things are complementary not contradictory.

  • @MaryLopez-ms1cx
    @MaryLopez-ms1cx 2 года назад +8

    Jesus' prayer for unity the night before He was killed, "That they may be one..." I read some of the comments here that lack charity towards fellow Catholics and it saddens me. Let us be at peace with one another and not resort to saying 'my way is the best way'. How will we ever be one? The enemy is always at work. We have a chance to have a Eucharistic Revival but most of the comments don't want a revival, they want what used to be. Sad.

    • @IarwainBenAdar
      @IarwainBenAdar Год назад

      "what used to be"-- it wouldnt be revival if it wasnt alive before. Just pointing that out.
      I agree that Catholics should be united (obviously), but it seems that you misunderstand the position of traditional Catholics. It is not "my way is the best way" but rather, "the reverent way is the best way". And things like genuflecting, receiving on tongue, and celebrating in Latin are ways of making the mass more reverent.
      I do not want to be that angry SSPX guy, but it is a sad truth that much the Mass' reverence was lost in the Novus Ordo. What some do not know is that there are reverent NO masses as well as irreverent ones. But the fact that we have to distinguish between a rev. NO mass and an irrev. NO mass says something, does it not?

    Thank you for sharing. While Jesus Christ is our only hope in this life often fraught with woe, this Eucharistic Revival and other societal movements are leading to only one outcome - a question between God's seventh day sabbath and the papacy's Sunday; and all of us will make at that time, when Sunday observance is mandated by law, an irrevocable choice for eternal life or the second death (Exodus 20, Daniel 7, John 14, Revelation 7, 13-22).

    If the Church were really interested in increasing belief in and devotion to the Eucharist, is would open its eyes and think a little outside its own box: get rid of lay ministers, give Communion kneeling down on the tongue, restore a meaningful Communion fast, and improve church music. But the Church so often discourages what it claims to want.

  • @river_of_jordan
    @river_of_jordan Год назад +2

    Dear USCCB, why not save all the money on programming and just spend it on reinstalling communion rails, and asking for people to receive kneeling on tongue (if health of person allows). Help parishioners realize that this isn’t ordinary food, but extraordinary food that requires personal examination before receiving. I know the church permits reception by hand, but we all know some of these hosts end up at black masses. This seems like a simple solutions to stop hurting our Lord.

      Well I mean I wouldn't be here if I wasn't forced by a church assignment because I don't personally believe it matters whether tongue or hand take the Eucharist, it's holy. People are getting mad at people because they believe that tongues shouldn't be forced, but sanitary reasons are my top concern, as my following copy/paste message details.

    Maybe start with actually adhering to Sacrosanctum Concilium and allowing priests to face ad orientem and use SOME Latin during Mass. There is no doctrinal mandate to face the people for Mass. Mandate sacred music and chant, not terrible post-Vatican II contemporary garbage. Then kindly ask the congregation to dress appropriately for Mass.

    Pauluse esimene kiri korintlastele 8:5
    Jah, kui olekski nõndanimetatud jumalaid, olgu taevas või
    maa peal, nõnda nagu inimeste meelest on jumalaid palju ja isandaid
    palju,

    6 siis meie jaoks on ometi ainult üks Jumal, Isa,
    kellest on kõik asjad, ja meie tema juurde teel,
    ning üks Issand, Jeesus Kristus,
    kelle läbi on kõik, ja ka meie tema läbi.
    Pauluse teine kiri korintlastele 13:4 Sest kuigi ta löödi risti nõtruses, ometi elab ta Jumala
    väest. Nii oleme meiegi nõdrad temas, kuid elame koos temaga
    Jumala väest teie jaoks.
    5 Katsuge iseendid läbi, kas te olete usus! Pange end
    proovile! Või te ei tunne endast, et Jeesus Kristus on
    teie sees? Kui ei, siis te olete ju kõlbmatud!
    6 Aga ma loodan, et te tunnetate, et meie ei ole
    kõlbmatud.
    7 Me palume Jumalat, et teie ei teeks mingit kurja -
    mitte et meie seeläbi paistaksime kõlblikena, vaid me tahame, et teie
    teeksite head, ehkki meie oleksime nagu kõlbmatud.
    8 Sest me ei suuda midagi tõe vastu, vaid üksnes tõe poolt.
