- The video shows the supporting program and the roll call for the reclassification of the Panzer Pionier Battalion 130 into the binational German / British Pioneer Bridge Battalion 130 in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith, and the Inspector of the Army, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais on 30. September 2021 at the water pioneer training area on the Weser in Minden. The roll call was accompanied by music from the Hanover Army Music Corps under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Wehn and the British Army Band Catterick.
Nice to see closer cooperation between us and the Bundeswehr. Only built a couple of bridges with 130 back in the M2B/D days when I was in 23 Amph Engr Sqn in Hameln.
What ever the political fallout over Brexit it good to see German and British. Military cooperating together as they should 🇬🇧🇩🇪

👍👍👍 stumble over this video. Great that at least a few military units stay in Germany and work together. Sometimes I really got my doubts, that people in UK still wished any links to the mainland.
We have so much common history, even since the so called dark ages ( due to lack of written history ). Will be visiting Fulda next week and say hello to St. Boniface aka Winfred of Wessex, who christianized the German tribes, to my opinion one of the fundaments to the later HRE of Germanic Nation. So many links undererrated. May the common spirit of comradeship hover over this new unit. God bless you all. 😻
Yes indeed we have very much in common. I have been many times in England and I felt always very welcome I would say the english people would like to have good ties especially to Germany. We are from the same Anglo-Saxon tribe in difference to the French they do not like the english.
As a german - we wish GB all the best after Brexit, but it would be better when they leave Germany and work with other Nations. We have to focus on EU 🇪🇺

Verwendungs und Gerätevielfalt bei den Pionieren fand ich schon immer spannend. Eine der vielseitigsten Truppengattungen, die es gibt! Richtig klasse!!👍.....nur mit dem Gleichschritt auf einer Brücke😳 Gerade die Pios müssten das wissen!!🙄.....Aber trotzdem ein sehr schöner und von der Truppe gut durchgeführter Appell!! Allen die dort dienen einen Dank für ihren Dienst, den sie für uns alle leisten!

Bravo! I enjoyed multinational events in Vietnam, 1969-1970, when our band, the 4th Infantry Division, would play the National Anthems of Republic of Vietnam, Korea, Australia and the US.
I have relatives who fought on the other side with a special unit from the DDR. They told me stories about the north vietnamese. they had great fighting spirit and where true comrades but boy did their version of the ddr national anthem suck.

Noch eine Frage. Wie viele und welche binationale Einheiten gibt es denn? Kenne bis jetzt nur die deutsch-französische Brigade und das deutsch-niederländische Corp.
In Évreux in der Normandie gibt es einen binationalen Hercules-Verband mit französischen und bald auch deutschen C-130.
Es gibt das Panzerbataillon 414 in Bergen, dieses Pionierbataillon, den Stab der 1. PzDiv, den Stab der 43. NL Brigade, den Stab der DEU/FRA Brigade, das DEU/NL Korps einschließlich Stabs-Fernmeldebataillon, das Multinationale Korps Nordost in Stettin, das Internationale Hubschrauberausbildungszentrum in Bückeburg, eine entsprechende Dienststelle in Frankreich, das Europäische Lufttransportkommando, den Stab der Division Schnelle Kräfte, den Stab des Eurokorps, den Stab Rapid Reaction Korps France und einige andere gemischte Kommandos mit deutscher Beteiligung.
Multinationale fallen mir noch einige ein, aber binational noch das NL DGLC (Kommando bodengebundene Luftverteidigung) dem die dt FlAbwRakGr 61 (Mantis, Ozelot) seit 2018 operativ unterstellt ist.

Weder noch:
Der Präsentiermarsch bekommt neuerdings ab einer bestimmten Länge Copyright Claims und ist hier auch nicht so dolle, dass sich eine Auskoppelung lohnen würde.
Das Wachbataillon will ich aktuell nicht mit der Traditionsdoku stressen. Die haben jetzt erstmal jede Menge Protokolleinsätze, die je nach Lage und Befehl in Corona-Modus oder wie gehabt durchzuführen sind. Das Thema ist weiter auf der Agenda, aber nicht kurzfristig umzusetzen.

Amazing spent 5/6 years stationed in Minden in the 1980's in the old German Engineer Barracks on Ring Strasse, which is now gone, replaced with a VW dealershop and housing, the old German Engineer war memorial is still there though on Ring Strasse! We used to watch the BW practising putting together M2's to form a bridge down on the Weser, our 28 Engineer Regt was down in Hameln with their M2's back then, but are now up in Minden with the BW, progress I suppose? We did put an M2 Bridge across the Weser at Petershagen during Operation Lionheart in 1984 and used it several times in night crossings, all history now though! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼
I spent 3 years at Clifton Barracks in Minden 73-76. Did 3 tours of NI and exercised all over Germany including Putlos on the Baltic coast.

Das habe ich mal anders gelernt. Aber vielleicht gilt das ja nicht für Pontonbrücken.
Alle anderen erwähnten bereits den Gleichschritt auf der Brücke, bleibt mir nur noch zu sagen, dass die Briten besser marschieren als wir. ;-)
Nein die Briten marschieren schrecklich mit ihrem armgewedel! Am besten marschiert wurde früher da gabs den guten alten stechschritt noch!

I voted for Brexit but i wanted out of the EU dictatorship, i was a health and safety member in the department that I worked in and I had to learn British safety laws and EU safety laws which was ridiculous as if i had a problem that appeared in my department by a work colleague and i went by UK health and safety laws then i would be breaking EU laws, if i went by EU laws then i would be breaking our own laws. I always went by UK laws and I never used EU law. The UK is British and it doesn't belong to an organisation that i never voted for, so i voted out of the European Union as to me it had nothing to do with my country and our laws here in the UK. Even though I voted out of the EU, it doesn't mean that I want the UK not to have close bonds and a working relationship with our European allies and friends who are either in the EU or not. I am for our military to have a close relationship with the military of our other European military allies, it is absolutely brilliant that we have a German/British Battalion and i for many more of these units in the future. I am glad that we have a DEU/BRI Battalion because we have so much in common with Germany such as the Royal family and the Anglo Saxon heritage in many British people, myself i have Norman and Celtic in my blood and Ancestry also my parents were Celtic as they came from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪

Compare and contrast the standard of marching between the two Armies. The British march with straight back with arms swinging front to rear. The Germans seem to simply stroll along in step. I think we need to lend them an RSM to smarten them upn a bit!
Idolise, the German armed forces are a shadow of there former selves. Still apologising for WW2. They need to get over it and be proud again.

In Minden gedreht,dass Denkmahl ist Minden!
The Denkmal or Monument in the background as the Brits play the national anthems, is the Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal up on the Wiehengenirge and is in Porta Westfalica, but the BW exercise area is down on the Weser in Minden, I have some pictures up at the Kaiser Bill from 2 years ago up on my IG profile, I visited it together with my son and grandson, who still live in PW, they recently renovated it and is well worth a visit.

@@albionmyl7735 The british are out. We shouldn't deliver military equipment (eg. the Boxer or Challenger 3) to them. We are in the middle of Europe, GB is an island - like Cuba. No cooperation needed.

Das übertriebene Armeschwenken sieht man bei Russischen Militärparaden auch und sieht m. E. unpassend aus. Wesentlich mehr raumgreifende Kraft kommt beim Stechschritt und kontrolliertem Armschwenken zum Ausdruck, so, wie ihn die Volksarmee der ehemaligen DDR noch praktiziert hatte.

Erstens handelt es sich um die britischen Streitkräfte und nicht "um den Engländer" und zweitens werden Sie wohl kaum britische Märsche in Ihrer Gesamtheit kennen, um so ein Vorurteil zu formulieren!
