The fermtech auto-syphon works great - not sure what the benefit of the top screwing on is - seems like just one more point of failure.

After destroying 2 auto siphons (the rubber gasket) by attempting to get the arm back in the tube, I now never disassemble it fully. I clean and sanitize the hell out of it but the arm stays in the tube. wetting the tube and rubber gasket and even heating the tube in warm water makes it no easier to get the rubber gasket back inside the tube without tearing it

I know your comment is two years out, but I've always just kept it in my sanitizer tub until the next use and it's worked perfectly for my beer, and I'm glad because I don't feel stupid doing it the same way!

I just followed this video and unfortunately, I disassembled the arm from the tube, now let me tell you that this is messed up... I had to cut the curved section from the arm in order to attach it from behind the gasket and then it worked, so whoever is reading this, if you're short on budget to buy another siphon (just like me) and have a cutting tool you can do this, you're gonna thank me... but afterward is f*cked up that they don't strongly warn not to do this.

This siphon can be cleaning with Star san?

It can certainly be sanitized with StarSan. For cleaning you might want to consider something like PBW for a quick soak and rinse before sanitizing.

I bought 2 of these. In the first, the inside tube broke with 2 uses. I thought it was my mistake, improper care maybe. Bought a second one, and the same tube broke the first time I used it. It is not indestructible as they claim in their website. Would not recommend.

I agree, mine broke after six months..the same part: the rubber inside the siphon. They gonna ship me a new one. We'll see how long it'll last.

I bought one (not the same as the one featured) from my local brew shop. Could not ask for better product. Says somethings about using your locals.

Mine worked AWESOME!.... once. I was sure to wet everything before use and cleaned it well before putting it away. Only thing it's good for now is aerating. LOL

So.... and auto syphon, a device that's been around for decades, with branding...

I had one and it doesn’t reassemble now the small plastic piece broke I don’t know how. Also the plastic tube has 2 small cracks kind of a cheap design tbh

Now show a video of someone using the bottling wand without it leaking everywhere. I really want to know what the secret is.

I have never had mine leak, where is it leaking from?

Brendan Ostrowski From the dispensing tip. Gravity and pressure are supposed to hold it closed, but it just leaks.

Having re-read what I wrote 2yrs ago, must have been having a hard day. Didn't mean to come across like a dink. My hair "style" isn't anything to write home about either. Cheerz
